Blue Bluff Recreation COE, Aberdeen, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

We received half off of the $22 nightly rate with our America the Beautiful pass. Even without the discount this campground would be well worth the value. No online reservations available in the fall, but we found plenty of available sites once we got there. Should mention this was on a Thursday night... not sure if weekends are busier. The camp hosts and volunteers were all friendly and do a great job keeping the grounds clean. I am really becoming a fan of COE campgrounds! We camped at Blue Bluff Recreation COE in a Travel Trailer.

Fairview Riverside State Park, Madisonville, Louisiana

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Gorgeous state park, with lots of cypress and live oaks and spanish moss. Right next to the Tchefuncte River, which will remind you of the chase scene from Live and Let Die! The campsites are fairly close to each other, but this park was really quiet given that it was mostly families and people getting up early to fish. The traffic in Mandeville was a little nuts coming in on a Friday afternoon, but the proximity to the causeway and to I-12 make this park pretty easy to get to. We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Capulin RV Park & Camp, Capulin, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very convenient campground when traveling between Colorado and Texas. Very nice owners with a newly-remodeled bathroom/shower facility. Great views of Capulin Volcano. Noise from the highway was not a factor. You may want to bring your groceries and supplies with you because there is not much commercial activity in the town of Capulin, but the country store just down the highway is worth a visit. We camped at Capulin RV Park & Camp in a Travel Trailer.

South Rim (NPS Campground), Black Canyon Gunnison Nat'l Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

There is something unique about staying in a national park, and Black Canyon is no exception. We didn't want to totally rough it, so we chose to reserve a site in Loop B, which is the only section with electricity. There was a water spigot at the entrance of the loop with which to fill bottles and pots with. The privies on the loop were havens for local flies, but that should be expected in any facility like that. The highlights were the ranger program held in the nearby amphitheater and the deer that hung around the campground. We camped at South Rim (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section), Fruita, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This state park is definitely worth the stay. Its location next to I-70 and the towns of Fruita and Grand Junction, as well as being next door to the fine Colorado National Monument, make the park about as convenient as any state park out there. The campsites offer plenty of space and all the facilities and trails were in fine shape. The dinosaur museum next to the park is also worth a visit. We camped at James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section) in a Travel Trailer.

Magnolia RV Park LLC, Magnolia, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in this campground for one night and were pleasantly surprised. We weren't sure what to expect beforehand, but the friendly staff and the upkeep of the campground put us at ease. We had a back-in site at the front of the park but still had a nice view of the pond in the center. The big private shower rooms are as nice as you'll find. Cable hookups require a separate box with a $10 deposit, so we didn't bother. Wifi signal was not very strong at the front of the park, but for one night we didn't mind. We camped at Magnolia RV Park LLC in a Travel Trailer.

Burkburnett / Wichita Falls KOA, Burkburnett, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This KOA works just fine as an overnight stop. It is conveniently located and not far from services in the town of Burkburnett. We were set up close to the office building so our WiFi strength of signal was probably better than elsewhere in the park. Staff was friendly. Some of the interior roads are a bit rough but that could be because of recent storms. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool (with slide) and the playground. We camped at Burkburnett / Wichita Falls KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Aspen Grove Rv Park, Tremonton, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

The best wifi we have ever had access to at a campground. As others have pointed out, this is a pretty new park, so all of the facilities and grounds are in terrific shape. Once the trees and foliage grow in, this campground can be expected to be one of the most attractive. We camped at Aspen Grove Rv Park in a Travel Trailer.

Hi Valley RV Park, Boise, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fine campground. Very friendly staff and the long-term residents are friendly. Everything was well-maintained, especially the laundry and shower facilities. Eagle/Boise are very nice areas and this campground fits right in. We camped at Hi Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Yellowstone Park / West Gate KOA, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $116.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights at this KOA while visiting Yellowstone NP. This campground has everything you might possibly want, including a nice indoor pool, but it felt extremely touristy. No real complaints, but it felt more like staying at Disneyworld than outside a national park. Other campers drive the wrong way on interior roads, BTW. We camped at Yellowstone Park / West Gate KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Fireside Resort - Jackson Hole Campground, Wilson, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $140.00
Overall Rating:

I think I am like a lot of the previous reviewers. The campground is well-maintained and our campsite (a premium) was nice, but the cost leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Much like everything in Jackson. We camped at Fireside Resort - Jackson Hole Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Rawlins KOA, Rawlins, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We came in thinking this campground was simply a place to stop overnight, but we came away truly impressed. Doubtful you will find more dedicated owners, and that seems to set the tone for the people staying there. Everyone was friendly and the facilities were well-kept. No real interstate noise to speak of. We camped at Rawlins KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Terry Bison Ranch Resort, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

If you are looking for something unique, this is the place. The bison train ride should definitely be taken. We enjoyed the steakhouse as well, and even though there was a wedding reception held inside one night, the service still got around to us. Traffic noise from I-25 was present but soon faded into the background. Only issue was the rutted up pad that we set up on, probably due to recent rain. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Prairie Dog State Park, Norton, Kansas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

A really nice state park with lots of wildlife around. We never interacted with park personnel, but they had online reservations and a check-in process that made things easy. Not much civilization around, but that is a positive, not a negative! We camped at Prairie Dog State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA , Lawrence, Kansas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Great location right off I-70, easy access to Lawrence and Kansas City. There are multiple playgrounds and things for kids to play on. We had good service in the shop and enjoyed a nicely made pizza served on a golf cart! I will say though, I just barely had enough water hose to make a connection, and I did not have enough coax for the cable. Make sure you plan ahead. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Travel Trailer.
