Amicalola Falls State Park & Lodge, Dawsonville, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

At present, for the cost, I only rate the Campground at Amicalola Falls State Park as satisfactory. They have some very nice sites, and if/when they get the bathrooms remodeled, the campground will deserve a very good rating. Excellent location, not far from the falls. Very steep and twisty road climbing the mountain, but so worth the trip up! This trip was early in the spring, but already crowded at the steps to the falls. No wonder, the falls are pretty spectacular. (425 steps. Be prepared, if you want to hike them.). Also want to give a shout out to Gibbs Garden. It is about 30 minutes from Amicalola. Check their website for bloom schedule. Two thumbs up! We camped at Amicalola Falls State Park & Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

Fall Creek Falls State Park, Spencer, Tennessee

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Decent campground, excellent hiking, beautiful views. We spent three nights at Fall Creek Falls State Park Campground. Pretty steep site in section E. Our trailer tongue was practically on the ground, but we were able to level. (Most sites in E were pretty flat, we just picked a steep one by accident.). The campground was clean, staff was nice, amenities were acceptable. I will stay again for the hiking. We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Old Stone Fort State Park, Manchester, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

The State Park trails were outstanding and educational and the short canoe tour was enjoyable. We would return for the park itself. However, the campground gets a thumbs-down rating: Asphalt pad, 6" out of level. Ours was dry but there were many swampy campsites, There was a grill, fire ring and a nice table, but the ground was poorly maintained. Gravel patios adjacent to the rv sites would improve the camping experience dramatically. Signage could use improvement. Reserved campers should just pull in, rather than searching for a check in attendant. Overall, not impressed with the campground. It is due for an update. We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Cedars of Lebanon State Park, Lebanon, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Not much to do at the state park, but the campground was very nice. Sites were spacious and had gravel patios. Area was clean and well maintained. Picnic table on our site was out of level. We would return for the camping. We camped at Cedars of Lebanon State Park in a Travel Trailer.
