Casino Queen RV Park, East Saint Louis, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Nice long concrete pads. Restrooms used codes but both my wife and I usually had trouble getting the restroom doors open for whatever reason. Great location for visiting downtown St. Louis and convenient to the interstate highway. Security guards were very helpful with advise about getting around. We camped at Casino Queen RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Rail station is nearby. Get off at first stop for the arch and there is another stop across the street from the baseball stadium. If you wave down a security guard they will give you a ride from the RV area to the casino or drop you off by the rail station.

Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA, Oak Grove, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived after dark and the paperwork was easy to find and a security guard helped us to our site. We were not here long but the one drawback was that our site was not as level as we normally get. Since we got in so late and were leaving early the next morning, we didn't try to resolve. We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Motorhome.

Laramie KOA, Laramie, Wyoming

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient one night stop between Jackson and Denver. Clean restrooms and friendly staff. Noise from I-80 was very noticeable in the evening, but fortunately seemed to quiet down when we were sleeping. Campsites were close but not an issue since we were just staying the one night. We camped at Laramie KOA in a Motorhome.

Very nice site with great access to Yellowstone and very walkable to dining, shopping, and grocery stores in West Yellowstone. Price may seem on the high side but the location was worth it for us. We camped at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I would recommend planning to have at least 3 full days to explore Yellowstone...so many canyons, waterfalls, hot springs, geysers, and wildlife. If you are into all this and like to go on longer hikes, I would recommend staying at least 5 days. There are several nice places to eat in town. My favorite was Beartooth BBQ (the atmosphere wasn't much but the BBQ was excellent). I would also recommend a day or two at the Grand Tetons if your schedule allows.

7th Ranch RV Camp, Garryowen, Montana

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This site is well managed and very convenient to the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument. The staff is friendly and the rest rooms are clean. Please note that they warn you to follow their signs and "not" your GPS. Our GPS route looked inaccurate or would have taken us on a rougher route so I would definitely follow their signs. We camped at 7th Ranch RV Camp in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I would definitely recommend a visit to the National Park Service visitor center at the Little Bighorn Battlefield. It's easily accessible from the highway. You can take a quick walk around or a longer guided tour.
