Bend / Sisters Garden RV Resort, Sisters, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Definitely lives up to the "Garden" name. Good: Well landscaped with lots of lawn, flowers, flowering shrubs along with native and landscaped trees. Large open park with sites about normal widths. Bathroom was very clean; showers excellent although not very private with the design. Resort has pool, spa and putt putt golf. Nice store and very helpful staff. Very nice pond with catch/release fishing. Road noise was there but not too bad. Lots of dog walk trails and access to rodeo grounds area for dogs off leash. Trash pickup at your site. Not so good: lots of water to keep this place green and it is overwatered. Everything wet in the morning with mud running across pathways to rodeo grounds. Tried to walk the dog on the trail but couldn't due to sprinklers blocking route. All the lawn areas had "no dogs allowed" signs. Our pad was not side to side level and we had to use leveling blocks. Noticed this with several other sites. Each site has a fire pit. I always thought campfires were for campgrounds, not resorts. We slept with our windows open the first night but the second night awoke late evening to find a campfire 25 feet across the road was filling our trailer with wood smoke. I would have given a much higher rating if it wasn't so muddy and there wasn't wood smoke to put up with. We camped at Bend / Sisters Garden RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort, Salem, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Our first stay here and we will return. Stayed 4 nights; if we'd only stayed 1 night our review probably wouldn't have been as high but the place grew on us during our stay. Park has about 140 sites and only 36 of them are designated for short termers. 2 sections of the park are used for "monthly" rate RVers only, so most of the park is long termers. But every site was maintained well and all of those we interacted with were very nice. Nice pool and spa that were always busy; large pavilion area, horseshoes, and several areas designated for dog walking. Grandkids came to visit us and enjoyed their time in the pool; I used the spa and it was nice. Our site was right next to the office and on the road exiting the resort. We heard numerous long termers leaving for work between 0430 and 0630. You can hear the train as another has posted; no posts I saw mention the FedEx facility right next door that has semis picking up trailers all night long; and the freeway can be heard. But after the first night, we were used to these noises and really didn't hear them anymore. Grass was a little brown but a landscaping crew came in one day and spent the entire day mowing and cleaning up the entire resort. Staff was very friendly and helpful. This facility only has 1 bathroom/shower building (adjacent to the pool) which surprised us for the size of the resort. 3 bathrooms with showers with one of those out of order. Took some planning to use the shower when vacant but the bathrooms and showers were very clean. We will return as this location fit our needs well for visiting relatives and the park is well maintained. We camped at Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Seven Feathers RV Resort, Canyonville, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

Our second stay here. Works perfect for us as an overnight stop as we head north to visit relatives. Entire park is well maintained; bathroom/showers plentiful and clean. Our site was next to a dog walk area and that worked well. We did not unhook due to an early departure and had plenty of room in our pull through site. Did not use the pool or the shuttle. We like the resort well enough that we are considering using it as a destination in the future. We camped at Seven Feathers RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Sandy Riverfront RV Resort, Troutdale, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here last year and returned for this year to visit relatives in the area. Fits our needs for that purpose. Site 189 was under repair and closed last year due to erosion on the creek bend. This area's 4 new sites now open but have been shortened by up to 10 feet due to reconstruction. Our site barely fit our trailer (25 footer). Bathrooms clean, showers great. Landscaping needs a lot of TLC. Lawns adjacent to site look like they haven't been tended in weeks. Wasn't advised on Comcast cable when we checked in. Went back and they said don't bother with the box, use the antennae. We tried the Comcast box and it set up very easily but only to find out that management had not activated this specific box. Really? Spent 30 mins with Comcast to activate box only to give up. Management can't activate all their boxes for their RV sites? Geez. Biggest con in this park is the attitude of the long termers and 80% of the park is that way. We were chastised by several long termers that our dog was not appreciated sniffing their site. Our son came to visit for 2 hrs and parked in an adjacent vacant site only to be told by Park Management on advisory that he couldn't park there. For 2 hrs and he's leaving? Definitely not a resort. Will probably stay again only because it's the only game in town. You know you shouldn't be here when the park voicemail says they are no longing taking long term residents and there's 100 people on the waiting list. We camped at Sandy Riverfront RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Robbins Nest RV Park, Bandon, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

RVers should be aware that this campground has a strict, 30 day, no refund, cancellation policy. We had to reschedule our trip and gave 12 days notice. Lost our $40 first night deposit. We did not stay here but at another RV Park on our schedule. We did visit here to see what we lost for the $40 and have to agree that the August 2018 review is very accurate. We camped at Robbins Nest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Riverwalk RV Park, Fortuna, California

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 4 nights end of Sept/Oct. We were here to visit family close by and this RV park met our needs fully. Long pull through sites, but narrow and the utility post is in the middle. RVers need to be aware of that when positioning their RV. Grassy patio areas with a picnic table but we had a couple of days of rain and the grass had not been mowed recently; but that was not a problem. Most sites have a landscape planted Redwood tree which may pose problems with slide out positioning. Due to our tree positioning, we could not extend our awning but facing north we didn't need to. The Redwood trees on the sites could use some pruning to make it easier for larger Motor Homes to position easier. Highway noise was non existent as we were placed closer to the access road. There is good separation between long termers and overnighters. Long termers are on along the freeway side but that's adjacent to the off ramp, not the actually freeway. Dog walking areas were identified but we used an area adjacent to the tent camping area and that worked fine. On site mini mart had local beers for our needs. 2 days of rain made for wet conditions but overall this was a great RV park that met our needs and we will return in the future. We camped at Riverwalk RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

AtRivers Edge RV Resort, Brookings, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean and well maintained park. Check in was easy with a pleasant host. We were guided to our spot, which was a back in site right along the river across from the office. The road down into the park is steep and narrow and brings you to the eastern portion of the park. The office and showers are in the middle of the park. Good cable and wifi. Eastern portion of the park appears to be set up for overnighters and the western portion for long termers, so there's a separation. Tough to find an appropriate spot for a dog walk. As a previous poster stated, I've also never seen so many areas posted with "no dogs", but we found a spot. Not sure how old the park is, but there are limited landscaping trees, so the park is very open. It was quiet at night, but there is a quarry across the river about 1/2 mile that you could hear during daylight, but it didn't pose a problem. Never used a coin operated shower before; 25 cents for 8 minutes, so bring 2 quarters because it takes about 3 minutes to get hot water. We drove through the long termer portion of the park and it looked like most of the sites were well maintained and that they are a tight knit group of neighbors. This was a perfect spot for us for an overnight stay as we traveled south. We enjoyed the park and will return again in the future. We camped at AtRivers Edge RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Bullards Beach State Park, Bandon, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Tried in early June to make reservations for early August with no luck. A reschedule to late September showed a couple of sites available and good reviews for site A47 put us on this site. What we didn't know, or missed when making reservations, was that when they say it's a 35' site, that's for your RV and tow vehicle. Plus we missed on the small park reservation map that A47 was a 90 degree back in site, not an angled 45 degree site. Lessons learned for our next Oregon State Park trips. All interior A loop sites were 90 degree back in sites, so beware. A47 was a beautiful site but fit more for a pop up tent, very small Class C motorhome or a very small TT. We had to drive against the arrows to back our 25' TT in due to a large tree blocking the entrance. No noise in the site. Narrow roads. Beautiful campground, but crowded with fisherman (salmon, crab) this time of year. We enjoyed our 2 night stay and will return, knowing better on which sites meet our needs. We camped at Bullards Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Heceta Beach RV Park, Florence, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Not a lot of recent reviews for this park. We based our decision to chose this park from friends that have stayed here before and recommended it. We needed an overnight spot after a 225 mile drive from east of Portland and this park met the needs. Gravel roads and gravel pads and as another reviewer stated, tall hedges provide privacy for your site. The entire park is on a slightly inclined slope so expect a little leveling to get your RV correctly positioned. Check in was easy and very nice people. They informed me you need a pressure regulator (which we had) because their water pressure is 120 psi. That's high, so be prepared along with the fact they are required to have back pressure connectors by the local water provider, so expect to see those on the hose bibs. We had no problems traversing the gravel roads like a previous poster stated. Cable TV and wifi were good. Showers were clean and good water pressure. Camp sites were cleaned and raked daily, so vacant sites were very nice looking. Campfire rings are present and you can move where ever it fits your needs. This park is about 1.5 miles west of Hwy 101 so there is absolutely no night noise to contend with. On park mini mart sold good local craft beers in their cold cases. We have only positive comments about this park and will consider it again when we travel this area in the future. We camped at Heceta Beach RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sandy Riverfront RV Resort, Troutdale, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Older park in very nice condition. Follow directions on website for easy driving access. Office folks very friendly and helpful at check in. Our site was a back in along the creek with plenty of room; site had an extra parking pad, so there was no street parking throughout the park. Many long termers here, but all have very nice 5th wheel or motorhomes. Our neighbors were from Florida and they spend the summer here visiting family and escaping Florida summer heat/humidity. That's the type of long termers here, not people in run down trailers and kids on bikes. Yes, there is a train track nearby but apparently there is only one intersection that it must toot its horn, so you really don't hear it. Yes, this area is near the airport but we never heard planes during the night time. We thought it was a nice, quiet park. Showers very clean. We didn't use the HD cable box and instead used our antennae and got about 50 channels; that met our needs. Good dog walking area to the left as you enter the park. Overall we enjoyed our 3 night stay and when we return to this area next time, we will definitely choose this RV Park again. We camped at Sandy Riverfront RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent overnight stay. Campground host takes you to your site. Level concrete pads wide enough for all pull outs. Clean restrooms and showers. Only gripe is the site irrigation which left us wet for our morning departure but we can live with that. Meat bees were bad but it's that time of year so don't let them show up with their plates and silver ware. We will stay here again. Shuttle was available for transit to the casino which we did not use. However, we heard numerous other RVers use it late in the night. We camped at Seven Feathers RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
