Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground), Rawlins, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This is a parking lot style campground. Our site was level. There isn't any shade. Each site has a picnic table. Open fires are not allowed. Sites are close together. The campground is quite close to I80 resulting in quite a bit of road noise. The restroom/shower area is very well kept. The appearance of the campground is adequate but the owners are making an effort to make this a welcoming place. The office staff is friendly and efficient and make a point of giving guests their phone number and letting you know it's Ok to use if there are any problems. There are mini golf and horseshoes available at no charge. There is a nice children's play area and a dog off leash area. There is WiFi but my device kept dropping it. The checkin person said that if that happened, I should try restarting my device. That didn't help. We travel in a Class B without a towed vehicle so questions about space for motorhome and tow don't apply to us. We camped at Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground) in a Motorhome.

Green River Campground, Jensen, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

This is a National Park Campground located in Dinosaur National Monument, in the Utah side of the park. The only "services" are flush toilets. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring (wood available for purchase). The parking areas are asphalt and the campsite is gravel. Ours was fairly level. The sites are pretty well spaced, there is very little shade in the A loop (typical for this area). There are bushes between some campsites to provide some privacy. There is more shade in the B and C loops. We stayed on Labor Day weekend and the park was not full. We travel in a Class B without a towed vehicle so questions about space for motorhome and tow don't apply to us. We camped at Green River Campground in a Motorhome.

Stevens Creek Campground, Gunnison, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

This is a National Recreation Area Campground. The only "services" are vault toilets, a boat landing, a fish cleaning station and there is a recycling container (the first in three NFS/NRA campgrounds we've been in the last 1 1/2 weeks). This is a totally open area next to the Blue Mesa Reservoir. Some of the campsites are near the water. The sites have an asphalt driveway with gravel surrounding it. The driveways are pretty level. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring (firewood isn't available for purchase). There isn't a beach (the water is very cold) or playground area. The Elk Creek NRA Campground is nearby. It has a dump station and water. I believe it has some electric campsites. We travel in a Class B without a towed vehicle. The questions about space for motorhome and tow don't apply to us. We camped at Stevens Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Junction West RV Park, Grand Junction, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice, parking lot style, private campground. The sites are level and gravel covered. They have very little shade (this part of Colorado has few shade trees). Each site has a picnic table. There are a few tent sites, I think most of the sites were full hook-ups. There is WiFi. The bathrooms are very clean, there is an on site laundry and propane is available. There is a children’s play area complete with a splash pad.
We travel in a Class B motorhome - no tow vehicle, so the questions about length of site, etc don’t apply to us. We camped at Junction West RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hovenweep National Monument Campground, Montezuma Creek, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

This is a National Park Service Campground located in Hovenweep NP. The only “services” are flush toilets. The campground overlooks a canyon. There is very little shade (which is common in this area). There is some privacy between the campsites. The sites are gravel surface. We took one that didn’t really have a parking pad to get our refrigerator side out of the sun - it was not level. There are picnic tables with a shade canopy and a fire ring (no wood available). Several trails within the park are nearby. We camped at Hovenweep National Monument Campground in a Motorhome.

South Meadows Campground USFS, Woodland Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Much of the information about this park in the app is incorrect. There aren’t any hookups, no dump station, no showers, no WiFi. This is a National Forest Service Campground. The only “services” are vault toilets. The sites are wooded and spaced nicely apart, but there isn’t much visual privacy as most of the trees are tall pines. Sites have gravel surface. There are both back in and pull through sites. The driveways are not level! Each site has a picnic table and fire ring (firewood is available for purchase). There isn’t a playground. We camped at South Meadows Campground USFS in a Motorhome.

Molly Brown, Leadville, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $7.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely San Isabel National Forest Campground on Turquoise Lake. Being a NFS Campground, the “services” are limited to vault toilets which were very clean. There is s NFS dump station not too far from the campground. There is a $10 dump fee and the fresh water hose doesn’t have a fitting to attach to a hose and we the campground didn’t have a faucet we could connected to. Just a few of the campsites overlook the lake; most are an easy walk to the lake. The sites are wooded and spaced nicely apart, but there isn’t much visual privacy as most of the trees are tall pines. Sites have gravel surface which was freshly raked before we arrived. The driveways are pretty level. Almost all of the sites are back in. A good location for tents and small to medium size trailers or RVs. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring (firewood is available for purchase). There isn’t s playground or a designated beach area. We had good cell phone service. We camped at Molly Brown in a Motorhome.

Kearney RV Park and Campground, Kearney, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

There are two areas in this campground. We were in the main area. Each site has a cement pad and they appear to be flat. There is almost no grass - it’s sand and gravel between sites. (We walked past the overflow area and it appears those sites have grass.) The sites are all pull through and full hook-up. They are quite close together (parking lot style layout). Each has a picnic table, there are a couple of fire rings on the “beach” area. The bathrooms (stool only) and showers are individual rooms. There is a small laundry (2 washers and 2 dryers) in the building with the bathroom/shower facilities. This area is very clean. I-80 is just south of the park - there is significant road noise.

There is a nice cement walking/bike path just outside the park gate. There is a sign pointing distance and direction to various parks, sites, etc in the area. We camped at Kearney RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.
