Wilmington RV Resort, Wilmington, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great TT park. The bathrooms were a bit older but very clean and they have individual locks for each shower in the woman's room. There is also a pool which we did not get to visit during this trip. The lady at the front desk was so sweet. She let us know there were 2 different sites available since I let her know we needed a level site. We booked a premium site but ended up choosing a value site with no sewer since it was more level. This RV park does have quite a few RVers there. Not sure if they are full timers but they were all really nice. They have lots of activities and amenities for families. We have already booked another stay here and plan to return. We only did a overnight so we were not able to see any sites. We plan to come back for the Ohio renaissance fair. This RV park is only 10 minutes away. We camped at Wilmington RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Diamond Caverns RV Resort & Golf, Park City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

I am a thousand trails member so this park is free for me to stay here. You check in across the street. The RV park was great. We were able to get a level site with FHU. The RV park had clean air conditioned bathrooms, the pool was awesome and some sites have concrete pads. The front desk person was so friendly and took the time to drive us to different sites to let us pick which site we wanted. We camped at Diamond Caverns RV Resort & Golf in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You must go see Mammoth Cave. We arrived late (2 pm) so a majority of the tours were already sold out. We chose to do the self guided tour. If you have the senior or year round national pass you can get one ticket at half price. For 2 of us it was only $9. Definitely worth it. The cave was impressive and amazing. We only spent one night so we did not get to see any other sites.

Gulf Beach RV Resort, Biloxi, Mississippi

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

We have a small rig so the showers are important to us. There were 2 showers per bathroom and they were really nicely maintained. This park is only 2 years old so the laundry and bathrooms are new also. No mold, dirty tiles, or anything. It is right across the street from the beach, so each morning we took our coffee to the pool and enjoyed the view. The young lady who checked us in was very nice and knowledgeable. The park is right behind a waffle house, the sign was a bit small but we looked it up on google maps so we did not have any trouble finding it. All concrete pads and full hook ups worked great. The pool was really nice. We personally felt it was worth the money compared to some of the other cheaper rv parks in the area that have pot holes and gravel sites. We will stay here again. The park is also very close to lots of casinos, restaurants and shops. There is also a super Walmart 4 minutes away for groceries and anything else needed. We camped at Gulf Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We ate fried oysters and shrimp po boy at Shaggy's. So delicious!! We did not visit the nearby casinos but there are many to see. The beach was also beautiful. We told were the water is still not safe to swim in due to the last storm and bacteria so make sure to ask if you visit anytime soon. We still had a great time and the rv park pool was really nice.

Caney Creek RV Resort, Harriman, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

This is a destination and a rv resort. The park is clean, the pool was our favorite part, beautiful lake/river. Lots to do with the kids! You can rent pontoon boats, kayaks and other water equipment. There is a nice playground, kid pool area and a walk up food restaurant at the pool area. The showers were clean and the ladies room has a lock which I appreciated. The front desk were so nice. We will definitely be back to this rv park again. Where we were parked you could see the river from our front window. Really peaceful and beautiful. We camped at Caney Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The town of kingston was small but cute with a delicious "Master Donut" shop. You have to get there early though to get a good pick of donuts but definitely worth it. This is the area for fishing, water sports and relaxation. Lots of restaurants nearby.

Flatwoods KOA, Sutton, West Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This rv is very close to the highway as far as distance goes, however there is a car dealership and hotel between it and the highway, so I found it to be very peaceful and quite. It is beautiful, quite and clean. You do have to check in at the Days Inn hotel, which is great because they are open 24 hours and you have access to there pool, restaurant and bar (we did not use). The service desk was nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again when we travel. We camped at Flatwoods KOA in a Motorhome.

Liberty Harbor RV Park, Jersey City, New Jersey

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $110.00
Overall Rating:

The bathrooms did have rust and were a bit old but were cleaned daily and I took a shower daily and was not grossed out by the rust. The bathrooms were not moldy or smelly. There is a gym next door that does not belong to the RV park that does play loud music that you can hear in the ladies bathroom but it was not a huge deal for me. As stated in previous reviews the rv park is just a parking lot but the location is AMAZING!! The train/subway stop is more like 8-9 blocks away but was easy to find and easy to use. We felt safe using it during the week and during the day. The also close the gates and ask for ID for anyone including people walking who arrive after dark. I felt safe and it was quiet. The park was great for what it was. You can easily walk to the bathrooms from any space and the dump station was easy to use. Definitely worth the price to be so close to Manhattan and still sleep in our own beds. Of course Manhatten was amazing, to much to list. Once you get off of the Path in Jersey city you will find some amazing shops and restaurants. We enjoyed walking around Jersey city. We camped at Liberty Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lynchburg RV Resort, Gladys, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this thousand trails while visiting our daughter at Liberty University. We are TT members so the cost is $0 for us. It is a great location being only 25 minutes to the school. The rv park is run down, rusty electric boxes, definite need of mowing and the bathrooms smelled moldy and were really old. The ranger who checked us in was so nice and there are employees who ride around on golf carts to make sure everything is in order. We actually had someone thank us for staying. Super nice guy!! I did like that you can pick your own site. There is a play area for the kids and a nice lake. I understand that this is wilderness and bugs are around, however after 5 years of RVing this is the first park that I had a tick on me. GROSS!! So that was a turn off for me personally. Other than that the sites were a decent size. We did not have any T-Mobile phone service at the park, no cable but we did have great antenna service. We camped at Lynchburg RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Paradise Lake Family Campground, Spout Spring, Virginia

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We visited Paradise Lake campground in april for 2 nights. It is a beautiful campground that is far enough from the main road so we did not hear any noise. It was very peaceful and beautiful. The bathrooms and showers were incredibly clean and have individual locks. The main con to this RV park was no cable, no antenna and no cell service (we have T-mobile). There are full hook ups. We were able to get a pull through site with a view of the lake. They come with a nice picnic table and plenty of room for chairs. We camped at Paradise Lake Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Shawnee Sleepy Hollow Campground, Schellsburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here when they just opened for the season. The man who checked us in was very nice and let us pick whatever 30 amp site that we wanted since the park was pretty empty. The park is in need of repairs and updates. The bathrooms were really rusty and smelled like mold so I skipped using the showers. Apparently they were still working on getting the water up and running so while we were there the water came out brown. The man who checked us in told us not to drink the water but it was safe to use in our rig. After seeing very brown water come out of the faucet we decided to use our bottled water for everything in our rig. We only stayed here one night. For the value it was fine for a overnight but I would have to go back to see if anything has improved before raising the score. Our site was level with shade. We camped at Shawnee Sleepy Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

I-10 RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is not an RV resort, but this is a great place to stop for an over night. The owner did not speak a lot of English, however he was so nice!! We realized we did not have the right 50-30 amp adapter. We went back to the office. He offered to give us a refund. We said we wanted to stay so he let us look through all the extra RV supplies he had to see if we could find the right part. He did not have it so he took us to one of the full time tenants there to see if we could borrow one. The man came over to our RV to look and checked what he had. Sadly he did not have the right adapter either but recommended a store nearby that did have the right part. Overall, the park does look run down and the back row of travel trailers are not much to look at but the people are friendly and so helpful. We camped at I-10 RV Park in a Motorhome.

Above and Beyond River RV Resort, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

I called to make a reservation at this RV park and was told it would be $40. When we arrived the office was closed. A woman staying at the park came out of her RV and said the RV park is not "officially" open. She said you just donate $20 for the cause to help out. I gave her our $20 and she told us which site to park at where the electrical equipment was working. Those were her exact words. When we pulled our RV around we passed by a bunch of dilapidated RVs that had been abandoned. Then where the electrical equipment was, there were wires hanging down and it did not look safe for the RV or for my husband to touch. We looked at the other RV sites and they all had electrical wires that were not safe hanging down. We left before hooking anything up and drove 3 more hours to the next town. Until they complete and actually open there RV park they should not accept reservations. The woman I made the reservations with did not tell us any of this. Very disappointing. I would not hook up power at this supposed RV park. We camped at Above and Beyond River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Alamo River RV Resort, Von Ormy, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The price reflects a weekly rate. It is a family owned park and the daughter checked us in. She is so sweet and helpful and truly cares about the customer. The only reason I gave this park a low star value is due to a few noise issues. There is a train crossing very close to the RV park so you will hear train horns often! On top of that I believe the train system must be one where they attach and detach because we would here one beep horn, two beep, long beep, etc. We could here the train horn even with our a.c. unit running. This would happen day and night. The second noise issue is the dog rescue shelter next door. Everyday you will here a point where many dogs will bark constantly. Other than noise, the RV park itself was friendly. The park is a little run down with yard maintenance but that did not bother me. The hospitality of the staff made up for any cosmetic issues. The FHU were great. We camped at Alamo River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We only stayed here for a quick overnight on our way to San Antonio. It is a great RV park with large spaces. Our particular site was large enough for our 38' class A and toad keeping it attached. Flamingo Lake RV Resort, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We only spent 2 nights here between travels. This park is huge but well maintained. The sites are close. You do get an escort to help you to your site and park your rig. Everyone gets a concrete slab and paved pad. It is also gated with an office that is open until 8pm. The major bonus are the amenities. Pool, swimmable lake, recreation building, lots of scheduled activities, kids play area, AMAZING park cable, NO wifi, and a CAFE that delivers food to your site or you can walk to eat there. The laundry room was also very large. Close to highway, with easy entrance and exit, however we did not hear a lot of noise at night. There is also trash pickup at your site. A lot of trees would provide shade in the hot summer months. The only negative is the amount of rvs, tight spaces and no wifi. Everything else turned out to be fantastic. The location of this park is also great. An hour from east coast beaches, lots to do in Jacksonville and close to the Georgia border if you are traveling north or south. We camped at Flamingo Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Oak Plantation Campground, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park is very clean and well maintained. The price reflects the monthly rate of $925. We stayed here for one month over the holiday month of December. There is a nice dog run and a small kids play area with a swing set and large chess board. There is also a pool that is not heated so we did not test it out. The utilities were great. We did not loose power during storms and the water pressure was great. The laundry room was not great. 4 washing machines and only 2 dryers with no area to fold your cloths or even transfer them. There is a sign in the laundry room that if the machine turns off you can remove the cloths. If you do not pay to stay nightly which is pricey they put you in a dirt spot instead of a paved area. Since the park was empty while we were there and we asked for a paved spot I found this to be a turn off, especially considering it rained quite a bit while we were there and we had a mud pit when we walked outside of our rv. Another negative which is not the parks fault, the road behind the park is VERY noisy with cars and trucks honking, revving their engines at night to race and motorcycles. We had to keep our AC fan on high to try to drown out the noise. There are trains but they are in the distance and did not bother us at night. Last negative is the entrance/exit. If you want to take a left turn out of the park you will wait awhile for a break in traffic. Thankfully when we were leaving with our rv we took a right. However when we drove our car for the month there were multiple times we went further up the road and u-turned to be safe. This park with traffic is about 30 minutes from historic downtown Charleston. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Motorhome.

Visit Gilligans Seafood Restaurant, the Glass onion and Swig or Swine on Highway 17 are definitely worth the visit. One broadstreet restaurant has an amazing brunch!! There is a beautiful very old tree called Angel Oak near the rv park. It is worth the time to visit. Lastly, USS yorktown is a must. We ended up spending 4 hours there touring the aircraft carrier and did not see everything.
