Golden Nugget RV Park, Anchorage, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We made reservations for pull through sites 2 months before we stayed at this park. When we checked in, the employee told us they had moved us to a back in site because a caravan was coming in. As you can see from the pictures, trying to get in this park is a challenge, very tight turn at the corner, then a very narrow drive-way in the entrance to the park. The roads in the park had terrible frost heaves, the sites themselves were not level, nor were they cared for, grass about a foot tall, not cared for. The sewer pipe was just an open pipe at an angle, it was a challenge to get the sewer hose to stay in the hole. Every night with the windows open there was a sewer smell that traveled through the park. The bathrooms and showers were fairly clean. Did not use the laundry. Note: They assigned my 44 foot coach to be backed into a 40 foot site, then put construction cones on the road as a “safety” measure. We camped at Golden Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.

Baby Nugget RV Park, Watson Lake, Yukon

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

For the amount you pay, the staff was rude, the service was horrible. Plus they add on fees for everything. Example, you pay a $3.00 "recycle" fee. Then you are supposed to separate your trash?? Some of the spots are OK, the drive through sites are fairly level, all you get is power and water. They have cable. But it doesn't work, they have WiFi, but you have to walk up to the laundry and it is so slow as to be worthless for the amount that you have to pay to use it. We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Sign forest is very neat. The Aurora Borealis Interpretive Centre is very scientific, but we were not pleased for the price that we paid.

Beaverview RV Park & Campground, McBride, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in the drive thru sites in a grassy area. You only have water and power. Power is very poor, the owners are SUPER-NICE people. Fun to talk with. They know about the power problems and the utility company won't do anything about it. The sites are fairly level. The bathrooms were clean but small. Easy to get in/out of the place. Would stay here again. We camped at Beaverview RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Ross H Maclean Rotary RV Park, Charlie Lake, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

The park is clean. The bathroom's were clean. The sites we stayed at were in a gravel parking lot. Our sites were pull-thru and had electric and water. Free dump station. However you have to pay $1 for 3 minutes, and $2 for a six minute shower. There appears to be permanent campers here, as there were cars parked on the access road, that the camp hosts didn't care were there and blocked our access road. Our sites also didn't have ANY outside seating. No picnic tables, nothing. You could walk up to the building and have dinner there, but who want to travel to sit outside. Sites are level. This is a good over-night stay, but not good for a long term stay. Power was actually a problem. 30-Amp means 30 amp, plus I had problems with brown-out. We camped at Ross H Maclean Rotary RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take a side trip back to one of the original bridges built and still in use between Dawson Creek, and Ft Saint John. Bridge I believe is called Kiskatinaw Bridge. Awesome structure.

Great staff, level sites, The sites are great for big rigs. The sites are offset so you don’t look into your neighbors window. Great shade, excellent facilities. Pool, hot tub, activity center, etc. We camped at Preferred RV Resort in a Motorhome.
