DeGray Lake Resort State Park, Bismarck, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Very large and comprehensive park on a beautiful lake. Just an overnight stop for us but would be an excellent destination park. Sites in our loop were well-shaded with large parking areas but a bit close together for a state park. We camped at DeGray Lake Resort State Park in a Motorhome.

Lavonia COE, Lavon, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful setting with sites widely spaced. Most sites in the loop we stayed in were not very level. Many had partial shade. Tables sheltered with grill and fire pit. Roads and site paving are deteriorating, as is the exterior of the restroom/shower building. However the inside was spotless and the shower was excellent. We camped at Lavonia COE in a Motorhome.

Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground, Yuma, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Terrific park! We had planned to stay in Nashville but decided to go a bit further for our overnight stay and found this gem. Very friendly and helpful office staff provided an encyclopedia of printed info about the park and surrounding area. We were escorted to a perfectly level concrete pad with patio and table. Cable TV was best we've ever had in an RV park. Wifi was good as was cell reception. Nice pool and fishing pond with gazebos complete with porch swings. As others have mentioned, also have RV mechanics on site. If we'd known all this in advance, would have scheduled some needed repairs and stayed a few days! We camped at Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Diamond Caverns RV Resort & Golf, Park City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We had planned to stay at the National Park campground but decided it was too hot to be comfortable without A/C and didn't know what the generator rules were. So I called ahead to reserve a site here. When we arrived the office was closed but they had our paperwork available. There was a park host when we crossed the highway into the campground who showed us the 3 available sites. None were great so we picked the least worst - as others have said, most sites are not anywhere close to level. The laundry was clean and expensive but the host had plenty of quarters for change. The restrooms in the laundry building were clean but felt like they were built in the 1950s (didn't check out the other building). Pool looked clean. Some of the permanent resident units are in need of upkeep, but the place was generally tidy. Would check out other options if returning to the area. We camped at Diamond Caverns RV Resort & Golf in a Motorhome.

Caesar Creek State Park, Waynesville, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful, clean, and quiet park. Follow signage from the interstate, not your GPS app instructions - the campground is nowhere near the rest of the park. Only ⅓ of the nearly 300 sites were in use (Tuesday after Labor Day). Sites 1-35 are walk up only and you have to go back to the (closed) office to fill out the paperwork. So I used the app and cruised the campground to find a site. Most of the electric-only sites were very narrow and many had the picnic table on the back end of the site; also some (look close at the electric post) were 20amp only. So we picked a full-hookup site which was wider (although not level). For the convenience of using the app we were charged an $8 reservation fee which is completely ridiculous. To top it off, the sewer hookup was so far to the rear of the site that it was out of reach of our hose. Small swimming beach near the boat ramp and there are (unmarked) paths from the campsites but you wouldn't know it was there if you didn't walk down there. We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Tionesta Recreation Area Campground (COE), Tionesta, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Road from town to park is badly maintained gravel. Park roads are fine. Park is well maintained. Only ½ of the restrooms have showers. Gravel site was not level but within tolerance for our jacks. We were there for Sunday of Labor Day weekend and there were lots of families (kids on bicycles, etc.) but it was nice and quiet. We camped at Tionesta Recreation Area Campground (COE) in a Motorhome.

Four Mile Creek State Park, Youngstown, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park on Lake Ontario about 30 minutes from Niagara Falls (either side). Most sites have electric; water spigots are available around the grounds (tip: fill up at the back of the office where they have a hose attached so you don't have to get your hose out). Only a few sites have waterfront views. Although we were there over Labor Day weekend and the place was full, everyone was friendly and quiet. Lots of families with children and dogs. Large playground including soccer goals. Sites in the 200 and 300 loops are a little wider spaced than in the 000-100 loop. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Four Mile Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA, Streetsboro, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park in a residential area. Sites mostly shaded and level. Very friendly staff - they were happy to accept and hold an Amazon delivery for us. It was just a stopover for us but would be a good base for someone visiting the Cleveland area. We camped at Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA in a Motorhome.

New Lisbon Family Campground, Straughn, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Majority of park is permanent units in a wooded area, most used as vacation homes. Overnight sites are in a large open field next to the fishing lake, with I-70 just on the other side, so there is constant (but not overpowering) road noise. Road to get there is narrow with lots of speed bumps. Restroom/shower/laundry facility is in the field and all were clean and functional. Very nice and large playground for kids and a basketball hoop. We camped at New Lisbon Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Cedarbrook RV Park & Campgrounds, Mulberry Grove, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Website has been down for several weeks and first phone call got no response. Called again and got a spot for an overnight. Most sites are permanent/seasonal users but the overnight folks were welcomed graciously Small pool was sparkling clean. Far enough from I-70 that road noise is not significant. We camped at Cedarbrook RV Park & Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Very well maintained park with friendly and attentive staff making the rounds regularly. Store well-stocked with commonly needed RV supplies. Trains run regularly nearby so be prepared for the horns - we enjoyed them but YMMV. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Lake Fort Smith State Park, Mountainburg, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground with sites wide spaced. Restrooms excellent. Sites paved, relatively level. Some designated accessible and others were fully accessible without designation (especially the 50amp sites). No access to or view of lake, but very quiet and peaceful, and cool due to altitude and trees. We camped at Lake Fort Smith State Park in a Motorhome.

Lazy L RV Park, Sherman, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Very convenient going north from Dallas. Near the highway but not overly noisy. All facilities including laundry, pool area, etc., were clean and well maintained. Although there are a lot of permanent residents, they were very well set up for overnight stays. Would stay there again when headed north. We camped at Lazy L RV Park in a Motorhome.

Quintana Beach County Park, Quintana, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park at a very nice beach! Just over an hour from the Houston museum district (not at rush hour) so you could even use it as a base for a city visit. Mosquitoes are a fact of life on the Gulf coast so you just keep a can of repellent at the door. There was a heavy overnight rain and most of the pull through sites had standing water the next day. We camped at Quintana Beach County Park in a Motorhome.
