Forsyth KOA, Forsyth, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Adjacent to I75 and very convenient. Had pull-thru site #3. Very close to highway and a good bit of traffic noise. Highway busy 24 hours a day. Park is built on the side of a hill. Site was gravel, rough and not very level, though I did get my coach level. Pull-thru big enuf for coach and toad. Only had electric and water. Had to use the dump. Not a big deal. Could not get good reception on cable TV. Tried 2 different cables. Wi-fi is limited to 30 continuous minutes/24 hours. First time in 5 years I have ever encountered this. I guess designed to eliminate streaming and tying up the band width. Not a bad idea, but if you have work to do, 30 minutes is just not enuf. Not a bad park, OK for an overnight. We camped at Forsyth KOA in a Motorhome.

Convenient Camping RV Park, Red Bay, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Ditto comments of Debbie T. from Sep 2018. Gravel lot directly across the street from Tiffen service bays. I'm sure that's why they are here. All back-in sites. Good full hook-ups. Some over-the-air TV channels, but this is in the boonies. No services other than hook-ups. Had to fill water tank as temp was to be below freezing for a couple of nights and all water turned off. Not much to do in Red Bay other than the Tiffen plant tour. We camped at Convenient Camping RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lakeside RV Park, Opelika, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stopping off point for 1 night on the way to Red Bay, AL to have my Tiffen motorhome serviced. Glad it was only for 1 night. First, several good points. Located right off Rt 280, level gravel site, good full hook-ups and good wi-fi, many over-the-air TV channels, long site so did not have to unhook, owner showed me to the site. But the not so good. Roads are gravel and quite bumpy, heavy rain recently (which they can't do anything about) but the place was very muddy, good bit of road noise being so close to the highway, have no idea where the lake is, many full-time RVs, and the price was $45 - ridiculously high for what it offers. Use it for a stopping off point, not anything else. We camped at Lakeside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sentinel Peak RV Park, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Small park very centrally located in Tucson. Other parks in the area that are much fancier, but this one met our needs for sightseeing around the Tucson area. Paved roads and sites, full hookups, 50 amp. Bathrooms and laundry were clean and nice. Site was not overly spacious, but big enough for 36' coach and toad. Certainly recommend it unless you are looking for a resort type park. We camped at Sentinel Peak RV Park in a Motorhome.

Southern Star RV Park, Van Horn, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. Gravel roads and sites. Easy to navigate, roads are very wide. Full hookups, 50 amp. Cable TV reception was very poor. Maybe my cable is dying, but it is working well in the park the next night. Not a lot in the town. Had a birthday dinner at the El Capitan. Great steak in an historic hotel. Park is convenient to I-10. Did not use but wife said the bathrooms were very clean. OK for an overnight stay in a very isolated part of TX. We camped at Southern Star RV Park in a Motorhome.

Economy Inn & RV Park, Ozona, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Not much. Maybe the first 1* I've ever given. Gravel mostly dirt lot next to a budget motel that doesn't seem like much either. Full hookups and 50 amp service. No restrooms, showers, or garbage cans. Only good thing to say about it is cable TV reception was good. The other campgrounds in this town get very poor reviews also. Proprietors are foreign, which is OK, but they speak with a really heavy accent and get very upset with you if you don't understand them. Unless you really need to stop for the night, keep driving to the next town. Ft Stockton is 100 miles further west and seems like a nice little town. We stopped at the Wal Mart there on the way. A couple of parks a little further east in Sonora get good reviews. Should have gone there. Oh well, it's only for 1 night. We camped at Economy Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.
