Bridgeview RV Resort, Grants Pass, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty park next to river. Sites are close together but arranged well. Roads are narrow but OK if you plan ahead. Really great and attentive service from staff who I think were the owners. Park is cooler than area because of river. Great central location for exploring area. Quiet at night. Maintenance is first rate. Price is a bargain. We camped at Bridgeview RV Resort in a Motorhome.

There is a Mexican restaurant nearby at the south end of the bridge. I don't remember it's name but it is about the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. Day trips to Crater Lake or into Grants Pass are convenient.

no frills overnight stay. flat gravel lot with full hookups including 50 amps. If you make a reservation on line the pull throughs are available. Since there is not much else to choose from in area, it is an attractive alternative. We camped at Yolo County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Cape Lookout State Park, Tillamook, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Remote. Mixture of, RV and tent sites. Maybe 15 % work for small to medium size RVs. C & D sections are for RV's. C is better for larger RVs. Some sites are in timber and some not. Most have some protection against wind. Very pretty area and very quiet. Beach access is good but beach can not be seen from campgrounds (high levee) Beech has a lot of drift wood and rocks. Did not not look like a safe place for kids to swim. We enjoyed and will return. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Motorhome.

This our park of choice. It is attractive, clean, convenient with nice people running it. We always stay here when passing through. The only negative is more road noise than ideal. We camped at Premier RV Resorts of Eugene Oregon in a Motorhome.

Banning Stagecoach KOA, Banning, California

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

we paid for a pull through site and specifically said we had a 35' MH towing. The clerk acknowledged. The site was a most 38' long and was not very level. Needed blocks front to rear and side to side. This is the 2nd time I have had the same experience. That said, park is well maintained and attractive for a KOA I won't stay here again We camped at Banning Stagecoach KOA in a Motorhome.

Lopez Lake Recreation Area, Arroyo Grande, California

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Great Park. Has about 350 spaces but they are divided up into perhaps 10 different campgrounds, 6 of which are for motor homes or trailers. Park is hilly with lots of oaks. Eagle is my favorite but it is the least flat. Wild life is very plentiful, deer, turkeys and song birds especially. There is a zip line and water park/slide which operate in summer. It is better maintained than are the State Parks. Definitely a destination stay and only 15 minutes from wineries and 2 minutes from Arroyo Grande We camped at Lopez Lake Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Good "plain Jane" overnight stop. Good access to I-10. Reasonably quiet. Dirt/gravel sites are fairly level and roomy. Management is very nice. They even escort you to your site. Fee was cash only. Restrooms are clean and modern. We camped at Benson I-10 RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a grocery store at the corner of hwy 208 and 4th street which is amazing for such a small town. There may be good restaurants in town but none looking interesting for dinner from the outside. Some did look interesting for breakfast or lunch. The town, like many in the Midwest, has seen better days.

Shady Creek RV Park & Storage, Aubrey, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very attractive park, lots of grass and landscaping. My site was not level. I had to put blocks under front wheels, but that did the trick. The gravel was uneven. I had to crawl under front of motor home to patch "holes" in the gravel before deploying jacks. A little maintenance would have been nice. I had no problem with my 35' MH, but 40'+ big rigs might find access a bit tough. Facilities are good and staff is very accommodating. I would stay here again. Buckhorn Lake Resort, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

First class in every way. A park like this would cost $90/night in California. Excellent facilities, stuff to do including fishing, expertly maintained.Sites are beautiful, with large level concrete pads and easy access. Pads are bordered by healthy grass with rock on the ends. No bare dirt anywhere, except in well planted flower beds. I will stay here again. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort, Lajitas, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Best Park in area but a bit stark. Facilities are excellent but most on the grass is either distressed or dirt instead. A lot of exposed dirt. That said, even when windy, there was no dust. Sites are big and Big Rig friendly, but without character. I was there 6 days the week preceding Thanksgiving week. It was only 15-20% full, which can't be good as a business. There is an excellent restaurant in the resort across the street as well as a world class golf course. I didn't see much play so wonder if they can be profitable, but the restaurant was busy. I would stay here again. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Motorhome.

Friendly owners, reasonably level with easy access. Many long term residents. Best park in town. Would stay again. The reason for the visit was Ft. Davis. Very Interesting early army fort.
