Shady Acres RV & Camping Park, Fort Myers, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

When we arrived we were give a goody bag and an escort to our site. We couldn't fit our 41 ft 5th wheel and 22 ft truck in the site, so after about 30 minutes of trying we were upgraded to a premium site. We were only there for 3 days, but I wanted to move In permanently. As soon as we got parked a neighbor came over and offered us drinks. We found all of the residents and the staff to be extremely friendly. The swimming pool area is amazing. There are 2 heated pools, a hot tub that's actually hot, a bar and a bandstand for special events. The day we arrived we were invited to the Bingo game that occurs in the clubhouse twice a week. The following day there was a pool party with live music and $1 beer from noon until 4 pm. There were so many planned events, and everyone was so friendly, I seriously did not want to leave.the park is beautiful and so close to shopping and restaurants, but completely silent at night. We camped at Shady Acres RV & Camping Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pecan Valley RV Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

When we were directed to our site I thought I was being sent down a road, but the whole thing was our site! I've never seen larger pull through sites anywhere. There were large trees surrounding us that would provide excellent shade in the summer. There was also a river that would be very inviting in warmer weather. Deer came to the campground every evening for feeding. The clean and convenient bathrooms were heated with propane Gas Buddy's so they were very pleasant for taking showers. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely return here. We camped at Pecan Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Arizona Sun RV Park (55+ park), Quartzsite, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Lots of activities going on. We were there for a week and attended movie night and a bluegrass jam session. We wanted a quiet park and we found one. It's far enough away from the main roads to have silent nights, and Quartzsite is so small you can be anywhere in town in 10 minutes. Very nice and inexpensive laundry facilities. There is no pool, but the temperatures don't get high enough in the winter to use one anyway. We felt so at home in Quartzsite and at this park, we made reservations to stay here from December through March next year. We camped at Arizona Sun RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out the Quartzsite Yacht Club, a really fun bar and restaurant. There is also a very cool bar called Beer Belly's outdoors at the Tyson Wells vendor area.

Monterey Fairgrounds, Monterey, California

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large asphalt parking lot in a convenient location In Monterey. It has plenty of room for large rigs, but we needed to use all of our electrical, water, and sewer extensions to reach the hookups at the rear of the space. There was plenty of room in our space to park our truck, but we had to park it in a wood chip parking area down the hill from the RV lot. It rained during most of our stay, so the parking area became rather muddy. It was about 55 degrees while we were there and the bathrooms were not heated. There was only 1 shower in each bathroom, but the shower was spacious and clean. Although we were able to level our RV, the sewer drain was uphill, so dumping was an adventure. If you just need a place to park your RV while you tour Monterey this is a good option at a good price. We would stay here again. We camped at Monterey Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Skyline Wilderness Park, Napa, California

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely, quiet park right in the middle of Napa.. It feels like the middle of nowhere, but there are restaurants and grocery stores a mile away, and dozens of wineries within a 5 miles radius. It's the perfect location for touring Napa, and the price is a real bargain. There were not very many spaces for a large rig, but our 41 ft. 5th wheel had plenty of room in the space we were given. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Every morning there was a crew picking up leaves and making sure the area was clean. WiFi was good at our site, but I heard another camper say he could not get it as his site. We camped at Skyline Wilderness Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Most of the wineries in Napa require an appointment for tastings and tours, so call before you go and make your appointments at least a week ahead during busy times.
