Sherwood Forest RV Resort, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

First of all, this not a bad place, just a bit noisy and crowded. We are full time RVers and Elite members of Thousand Trails Trails Collection. My wife actually likes it here because of it's proximity to the shopping. However, I do not like helicopters roaring over head all hours of the day and even the middle of the night. Emergency service sirens, roaring car engines on Route 192 (Irlo Bronson Highway) Nah, I like to relax and I will drive the 20 minutes or so to go shopping. The interior roads are in good condition. The pool area is also in great shape. I never went to the gym or clubhouse so I have no opinion on those. Resident annual renters are the usual arrogant "could care less" about us nomadic travelers attitudes is becoming an expected norm. My next door neighbor in a dilapidated trailer/bungalow #253 let her semi wild cats run wild, sleeping on our chairs and picnic table and pooing all around our RV at night and it stunk to high heavens during the hot days. Our Site was #254 so avoid it if possible. The showers were, very small. I am a large guy but far from the largest. I had difficulty changing in this tiny shower stall area. The bathrooms appear to be cleaned on a normal basis. The laundry uses tokens and have machines to dispense them. The washers were in good shape as well as the dryers. This place is not the top of my priorities for visiting again however, if it is the only place available, I do not find it that horrible that I would not return again. The staff here was wonderful and friendly. I would have easily given this an 8 if the bathrooms were more accommodating. We camped at Sherwood Forest RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Clerbrook Golf & RV Resort, Clermont, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay here. We were fortunate to have wonderful neighbors which is always a plus. The acorns falling out of the trees? A picnic table from the 1070s? No fire ring? Ehhhh... Clermont, Fl is not too far away with all the shopping one needs. No cable TV or wifi here. We had a MiFi jet pak so we were fortunate. Be prepared to have some type of wifi if you full time it like us. We camped at Clerbrook Golf & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Three Flags RV Campground, Wildwood, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay here. Only drawbacks were the lack of a playground. We understand this is generally a 55+ park, but some, like us, married late and still have youngsters. No propane station. Most people here were very friendly. One particular "annual renter" enjoyed blowing dirt everywhere with a leaf blower. He did so throughout the Christmas, New Year holiday season. Couldn't eat outside because everything had a dusting of dirt all over it. Absolutely clueless this guy was. Other than that? A nice pleasant place to stay. We camped at Three Flags RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Scotrun RV, An Encore Resort, Scotrun, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Unfortunately, I can't give this place a great score although I wish I could. Thousand Trails/Encore needs to invest capital into these places. They are barely campgrounds. We were fortunate enough to get a full hook up although they are quite rare. Staff were wonderful! Convenience of shopping is everywhere here with I80 just a mile or so away. Playground, pool area is nice and there is indeed a pond for I guess looking at it. Roads within are dirt and rough going. Great rest area but I wouldn't suggest anyone stay here for extended time. We camped at Scotrun RV, An Encore Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails), Clermont, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We are full time RVers. We are Elite Thousand Trails members and stay within the TT system 90% of the time. Our opinion my differ from most because we look at these resorts as "home" and not a vacation location. We look for cleanliness, efficiency and location. Orlando has it all! Nice sites everywhere. Paved roads, clean toilets and showers, wonderful staff, friendly neighbors, resident turtles and flamingos, great recreation area, easy delivery of packages, steady 50 amp power, good sewer system and Disney World fireworks! Our only item we wished they had more of is a playground suitable for younger children. Other than that, we love this place. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Travel Trailer.

Forest Lake RV Park & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails), Advance, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

I like this place. It is conveniently located between Mocksville and Lexington with Winston Salem not far away. The staff here are superb! They are what bring us back when we are in the area and and as full timers with a Thousand Trails Elite membership, we choose this campground as a main stay when coming through. We were here for the Thanksgiving Dinner and everyone brings something. It was fantastic! On the site, we got a 30 amp and there is no cable amenity which the kids would love. Campground offers wifi. We use a Verizon jetpack and the signal was good. Family lodge has arcade for the kids and the adult lodge is gorgeous, one of the best on the east coast for Thousand Trails. Roads are a bit rough, but go slow and you will be fine. We camped at Forest Lake RV Park & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Travel Trailer.

Thousand Trails / Carolina Landing, Fair Play, South Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This could be a very nice place, if capital was invested in it. Most sites do not have sewers. As a Thousand Trails member, I joined so I did not have to "boon dock" it. If I wanted this I could easily stay at the numerous state and national camp grounds. The power was only 30 amp with no sewer hook up. The "honey wagon" does make a weekly visit but for those like us that full time and actually "live" in their rigs understand. The black and gray tanks fill quickly and I am sure the heck not trudging up a dirt road in the middle of the night to make a visit to the rest room. The full hook up section was jam packed and tiered in a stepping type of arrangement. The sites were very tight there and as we waited for a full hook up site, we remained in section F site 6. Laundry room was adequate with 4 washers and dryers. Family lodge was closed. The play ground is barely basic and not configured for small children. The staff were friendly as were the others in RVs. We planned on staying 21 days but shortened it to one week. I would use this as a rest area as it is close to I-85, but that is as far as i would go. Unless you are "camping" which we do not do then this campground might be suitable for you. Activities like shopping and anything else is at least 20 miles away. Call ahead and check availability for "full hook up". Otherwise, you are in the back and camping. We camped at Thousand Trails / Carolina Landing in a Travel Trailer.

Southern Trails Resort, Unadilla, Georgia

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 2 days while passing through. Sites were level and pull through. Site 77 had a leaking area which I suspect is the septic. We didn't use the amenities as we were just here resting. Place is indeed right next to I-75 but this is what I expected and found it very convenient to get back on I-75. I suppose in the warm months if someone wanted their windows open they would hear the roar of traffic, but we were here in November and barely heard anything with the windows closed. Staff on check in was friendly. Our site did not have a picnic table or anything else for that matter. Cable was good and power was steady. Another guest across from us was quite rude and inconsiderate driving off the gravel road, through the site next to us and came very close to our rig. I don't know what kind of statement he was trying to make if he was making one. He had two sites to himself (one for his truck, the other for his 5th wheel). We full time travel and find most others are considerate, but there is always the narcissistic few. This place is what it is, a nice place to park your rig, stretch your legs and lay your head. Sure, we will stay here again. We camped at Southern Trails Resort in a Travel Trailer.
