Overland RV Park, Van Buren, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a no frills RV park and not a destination. But it is just fine for a few nights, either just passing through, or to visit the area. It is self reservation, you pick a site, and put your money in the envelope. Utilities were fine. The campground is older, but the grass is mowed and it appears to be maintained. The bathrooms are old, but are clean and fully stocked. It's right off I-40 and made a great place to stop for the night. We camped at Overland RV Park in a Motorhome.

Grand Ole RV Resort, Goodlettsville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay here, but this could be a hit or miss park, depending on the spot you have. Many of the 30amp sites are wedged in very close together, and some of the 50amp sites are right next to an active train track, which I imagine would be very annoying. We had a very nice site and were very comfortable here. Just long enough for our 40ft Motorhome plus tow. Our only complaint was with the maintenance man who was trying to fix an electrical pedestal. Since he didn't know which breaker to turn off, he started flipping them all off/on. This worried us, as we had 2 A/C's running and the coach would flip between shore and battery power. After the second time, we went to talk to him, and he didn't seem to understand that this could cause real problems for people. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Swan Creek, Tanner, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

While this is definitely not a destination park, it is perfect for a stop over location. We had been traveling and doing stuff for 3 weeks and just needed a place to stop and relax for a bit. This is a great place to do some laundry, go shopping and get some chores done. It is well maintained, clean and the office staff is very nice and accommodating. Laundry was clean and large. It has a large dog run and with such a big community, there is plenty of room to talk a walk in the evenings. We camped at Swan Creek in a Motorhome.

Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Rossville, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice park if you are looking to stay in Chattanooga. Nice grounds with a nice pool. Friendly staff, and they even gave us a refund when we had to leave a day early. Sites were gravel and long enough to park our Motorhome and tow vehicle. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Motorhome.

We loved the Aquarium in Chattanooga and spent several hours there. It has both a river and ocean exhibit. The incline railroad up Lookout Mountain was interesting and we really enjoyed Rock City Garden.

Sundermeier RV Park, Saint Charles, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great RV park. It is clean, well maintained, nice paved roads that are easy to maneuver. Water pressure is really high and the utilities worked well. Verizon was super fast here! The laundry is large with many machines. The concrete pad is large enough to park our tow car, and while you're close to your neighbors, there is a nice grass area between. Picnic table at easy site. We camped at Sundermeier RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you dont want to drive to St. Louis, take the Metro and park for free at the North Hadley station. The Metro takes you right downtown. The downtown historic district of St. Charles is charming, lot of cute shops, restaurants and bars. Plus you can tour the original capital building of Missouri. I actually found it more interesting that downtown St. Louis.

Lake Darling State Park, Brighton, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a hidden surprise. It's in the middle of nowhere Iowa, tucked into a very beautiful lake. The state did a lot of upgrades to the park and the campground about 5 years ago and it shows. All the roads are nicely paved concrete, with very nice paved trails around the lake. Lots of parking, boat ramps and picnic tables for day use. The campsites are gravel, and a bit slanted so it takes some effort to level. There are very few trees around the campsites, so little to no shade. The only downside is there is no AT&T or Verizon at the site (or around the fields of Iowa either). But full hook-ups for $20 a night, and a beautiful lake, it was worth it. We will stay here again next time we come to visit family. We camped at Lake Darling State Park in a Motorhome.

Freeborn County Fairground, Albert Lea, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Like all other fairgrounds, this is just a grassy field and not really set up to be a campground. First, this place would not work if there were more than a few people staying here. The "sites" are so close together, that your awning and your slideouts hangover your neighbors lawn. The electrical outlets are all together on 1 stand in the back to accommodate a dozen or so sights, so depending on where you park, you may need a very long extension cord. Plus, all of the cords would be hanging in front of each other's outlets, It would be impossible for everyone to use at a time. The sewer doesn't have an attachment, so you need to make sure you hold the drain in place when you dump. The sites are very unlevel and difficult for a long Motorhome. We put blocks under the front tires so they wouldn't be off the ground, but the grass was so soft, that they just sunk into the ground instead. The Camp Hosts were very nice and friendly (even gave us fresh veggies from a garden). They only take cash. The best feature of the park is the location. It's easy to get into from I-90 and makes a great stop over point to get groceries or run errands when on a long trip. Plus full hook-ups for that price is nice. But I probably wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Freeborn County Fairground in a Motorhome.

Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA, Devils Tower, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

The park is literally at the gate to Devils Tower entrance (we even walked into the park 2 days to go to Prairie Dog Town). There is no sewer, but there is a dump on site. The sites are gravel, with lots of surrounding grass. Some areas have lots of trees, some sections have none. The pool is small, but nice on a hot day. They show the Close Encounters movie every night, which is fun, since the tower is RIGHT THERE. You can buy some basic groceries in the town of Hulett. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't go to the Tower during the day, its a madhouse with no parking. Instead, go after 6:30, before the visitor centers closes at 7. Then take the 1.3 mile walk around the base of the Tower, when its nice and cool. It really is amazing and the view of the valley below is incredible. Make sure to be there around sunset as the Tower turns bright orange.

Deer Park Campground, Buffalo, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park, lots of grass and shade trees. Comfortable space between sites. The office staff are friendly and host an ice cream social every night ($2 for 2 scoops). They escort you to your site. The pool was small, but nice for the kids. It's very close to downtown Buffalo, which is a cute small town. We camped at Deer Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Billings Village RV Park, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fine RV Park, but nothing special. It is easy to get to from the freeway. It is quiet and in an industrial part of town, so nothing really to walk to. It was clean and well maintained. There are some nice large trees to get shade. Ours was a back in site, there are no picnic tables, the grass is nice. We camped at Billings Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Osens RV Park & Campground, Livingston, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this park! It is easy to get to (I-90 and 89). Staff was very friendly, setting up the reservation and checking in and they led us to our site. We stayed at a site with no sewer, so they also helped us into their dump station. The grass was bright green and they maintain the gravel roads and sites to keep them straight and level. The potholes on the road to the park were awful, but the next day they were filled in, which made the drive out just as bumpy. There are only 4 washers and dryers, which worked fine. There is a large, grassy, fenced in dog run. We camped at Osens RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The entrance to Yellowstone is 1 hour away, down highway 89 to Gardiner, which is the original entrance with the Roosevelt Arch. But first stop at the local Forrest Station (.5 mile from Osens) to get an America the Beautiful pass for $80, which gets a carload of 4 people into all Federal parks/monuments for a year.

Ponderosa Falls RV Resort , Cheney, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

If you're looking to visit Spokane, this is a great place to stay. However, I found it very average, and only stayed here because of the Coast to Coast rate. It was tricky to navigate, the sites aren't level and required several blocks. The sites are very close together, the park is looking a bit run down, but it was clean. We camped at Ponderosa Falls RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Hood Park - COE, Pasco, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great COE campground, lots of grass and huge shade trees. Our site was a back in, on gravel, not very level, but we made it work. There is lots of room between sites. They do a good job of maintaining the park and keeping it clean. They will not let you arrive before 2 pm, but there is an overflow area to hang out in while you wait (its on the left before you turn right to the gate). The gates aren't "locked" at 10pm, they just close them and you could open them if you needed to get out. This is definitely a family friendly park, with lots of kids riding bikes and campfires. It is electric only, but the dump station has water. We camped at Hood Park - COE in a Motorhome.

The beach front on the river isn't that great. Instead, go to Howard Amon Park in Richland, it is great! One of the best city parks I've ever seen. Lots of grass/trees, right on the river. Play grounds, climbing wall, water play areas, walking paths. Pack a picnic and the family can easily spend the full day there.

Sandy Riverfront RV Resort, Troutdale, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This park is fine, and like any RV Park, it has its pros and cons. It is close to the I-84 freeway, but DONT follow your GPS if it tells you to take exit 18 (or if it tells you to leave that way to head further East). Check in was efficient and all business. They make sure to stress the parking rules as the fire department has issued tickets before. The roads are big enough to maneuver, but I still hate RV Parks that put in speed bumps. The park is about 1/3 permanent residents, but they seem to keep it clean enough. Even though they advertise cable, they try to discourage you from using it, since you have to check out a cable box with them, which seems to be a hassle. The sewer venting pipes are located throughout the park, right next to people sites. The pipe is about 10 feet high, and we were worried we were going to get sewer smells, so we kept the roof vents closed, it turned out not to be a problem. We camped at Sandy Riverfront RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Seven Feathers RV Resort, Canyonville, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

This park really is top notch, like the other reviews have indicated. It is quite busy and all 200 sites are usually full as it is a good half way stop in the middle of Oregon. There is usually a line to check in, but they seem to do a good job of getting everyone processed, then they escort you to your site and make sure you can get everything hooked up. The grounds are the best maintained I've seen in the last 2 months, first time I've seen this much green grass and the trees are just the right size, in the right spot. The sites are paved and level, with a nice picnic table. The hook ups worked great. We were having trouble with the cable hook up, and a maintenance man was driving by so he stopped and helped us (the problem was on our side, their cable was working great). He even stopped by 2 more times that day, just to double check on us. The shuttle service is great and runs all day, and is very easy. Not only will the shuttle take you to the casino and back, but it will also take you to any business that is open in town. The driver said he's taken people to the DMV or the NAPA auto parts store. The pool is heated and indoors, which would be great in colder weather and there is a nice workout room with good equipment. There is a paved walking path around the park, which also goes by the truck stop which is nice to stretch your legs. We camped at Seven Feathers RV Resort in a Motorhome.
