Gettysburg Campground, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Superb CG. Well kept in every respect, huge pool but it was closed of course in October. Many of the regulars were in Halloween mode even though it was 2 weeks later: decorations, lights, and a candy trick or treat.

Friendly staff and fellow campers. Excellent amenities with dumpstations, pump out if needed, good roadways and plenty of room for our 30 footer.

I dislike timeshares and will never buy in, but we would go back to this CG some year if time and space permits. Nice cabins available too.

We enjoyed several ranger talks: all excellent, and those filled in all understanding we could take in. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Greatly enjoyed touring nearby Gettysburg National Battlefield, town and Eisenhower Farm in 1/2 day segments and spending time relaxing at CG. If time is limited, guided is probably best. Personally, I advise taking at least 3 days just for the Battlefield and Eisenhower farm. We like history so more time is better.

Touring Gettysburg on your own is easy, self explanatory, more relaxing than taking a coach or private tour if your time allows. Didn't need to rent the guided tour.

The Eisenhower farm is a must see, no need for guided tours there either since the staff on site explain everything.
