Winchester Bay RV Resort, Winchester Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Wide roads, paved sites, well-manicured lawns, shrubs, and trees with the bay on one side and a marina on the other make this one of the prettiest parks we've seen. We had a waterfront back-in site with a sunset view out the rear window. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Plenty of restaurant options nearby. We would definitely recommend this park and we'd love to stay here again next time we're passing through the central Oregon Coast. We camped at Winchester Bay RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Bay Point Landing, Coos Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

This park is fairly new (in fact, still under construction). The rest rooms and showers are the cleanest I've ever seen. The WiFi is the fastest I've ever seen in an RV park (measured up to 98 Mbps at times, always greater than 50 Mbps). Good cellular signal from Verizon. Modern structures, indoor pool, several meeting rooms, recreation room, and an indoor playroom and outdoor playground for the kids. Gravel roads wide enough for easy maneuvering and relatively level gravel sites. Nice view of the bay. However, this is the Oregon coast... it's always going to be windy (too windy for awnings) and often foggy. Very interesting to see how the extreme tide affects the landscape. At low tide you can walk out on the sand several hundred yards. The only negatives are the fact that there are more weeds than green grass, and that your credit card is charged for the entire stay at the time you book your reservation. There are no refunds for early departures (regardless of how legitimate the reason might be), although that seems to be the policy at many parks and resorts. I'd rate this park as an excellent value only if you have the opportunity to take advantage of all the facilities, otherwise it's an expensive place to park just for the view. We camped at Bay Point Landing in a Fifth Wheel.
