Giant City State Park Campground, Makanda, Illinois

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed over spring break with about 20% of the campsites filled. Showers and bathrooms were clean but a little worn with age. Hiking was wonderful, but located quite a ways from the campground and taking the highway was required to get there. We'd stay there again. This campground does not have water hook ups. Site # 32 was right across the playground - great for the kids. Make sure you have a driving vehicle to get to trailheads. Bicycles would require riding on a pretty busy highway and it's too far to walk with the exception of one trail. We camped at Giant City State Park Campground in a Motorhome.
