Bayside Campground, Sechelt, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Bayside for 8 days and had hoped that it would be “bayside”, but alas it is in an industrial part of town with the bay on the other side of the highway without any sort of view. The campground is unmaintained gravel with uneven campsites. We stayed with our two young kids and wondered to the “playground” hoping to let the kids blow off some steam. By playground they mean two old boats that were dirty and dingy sitting in a sand pit, in a small meadow type field with dandelions and dormant grass. We didn’t feel that this was a place that our young children should be playing.

We regularly drove or rode our bikes into town to go to beaches and shops. There weren’t any beach accesses that were very close to the campground where we could walk with the kids. The campground has a few “residents” who tended to cut through the campsite next to us rather than use the actual road to get back to their homes. This was really annoying, especially when they’d come and go throughout the night and that campsite next to us was right near our bed. We also weren’t really fans of the constant police presence that one resident had throughout our stay.

There were a couple of positives, the staff was friendly and pleasant to deal with and the wifi was accessible. Overall we won’t be back to this campground. We camped at Bayside Campground in a Travel Trailer.
