Douglas County Fairgrounds, Roseburg, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights while visiting family in Roseburg; first come first served. Site was level but overgrown with grass. Check-in was confusing; went to the Fair Grounds Business office but they would only process credit card payments so put envelope in box at kiosk. The Business office did not have the restroom code and directed me to the camp host who was not at his site; luckily we are self-contained. Only 5 sites have full hook-ups the rest are electricity and water. Nice large pet area and nice walking path along the river. Restrooms and showers super clean and spacious Lots of and lots of flies due to stables near by. Excellent value would definitely stay again. We camped at Douglas County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Viento State Park, Hood River, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed two nights; very scenic forested sites, nice beach, and for a state park great restrooms and showers. Our site was very level and it appeared that most of the sites were level as well. There is an excellent paved bike/hike trail Columbia Gorge Historic route; they also have a nice little trail to Viento Lake. The river/beach access is excellent. All that being said the train and highway noise is unbearable. Good cell service but OTA nonexistent. The Columbia River Gorge is such a beautiful place and these campsites are right in the heart of the Gorge. We camped at Viento State Park in a Motorhome.

Icicle River RV Resort, Leavenworth, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 4 nights in a river view site and enjoyed it very much. That being said sites are way too close together and I would not have been happy with a site in the upper section; too dusty and dirty. Wi-Fi is very spotty; cell service not much better; OK cable. Our site was very level and all hook-ups worked very well. While the pet area is minimal there is an excellent paved path to the Sleeping Lady Resort which my dogs and I really enjoyed. The Sleeping Lady Resort within easy walking distance offers a microscopic mini mart, bar and restaurant; lovely walking paths. Also walked to the Fish Hatchery; absolutely beautiful and interesting. Would stay again but only in a review view site. We camped at Icicle River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Salem Campground & RV's, Salem, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Driving up Interstate 5 on a Friday night during the summer without a reservation is not a good idea. Unfortunately, we had no choice but to stay at this park. It's mostly long term residents with old rigs with lots and lots of "stuff" surrounding them; sites very close together. The sewer hook up was beyond strange so we did not use it. No cable and OTA was not good. A sewer smell was permanently in the air There was a home depot and a few furniture stores nearby so safe place to walk our dogs; in addition a brand new mini market was also within walking distance. Did not use the restroom. Did not feel safe; would not let our 16 year old granddaughter out of the rig without us. We camped at Salem Campground & RV's in a Motorhome.

Memaloose State Park, Mosier, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Billion dollar views are what makes this park so special. The park is right along the Columbia River Gorge - the views are spectacular. Unfortunately there is no river access but drive 3 miles in either direction for access. The train and interstate 84 noise is constant but the lovely view of the river makes that OK. It's tricky to reach the park if you travel east on 84 you have to pass the park and take the next exit west ??? The restrooms are typical state park and this one is clean but the water pressure is very weak. Excellent cell phone and OTA stations. No campfires or open flames allowed. We camped at Memaloose State Park in a Motorhome.

Fort Stevens State Park, Hammond, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 5 nights in loop C - very busy park sold out every night we stayed. So many things to do excellent hiking and biking trails; beach and lake. This year we did the truck tour really fun and only cost $7 per person. The ranger programs are very extensive and most don't cost anything. We visited Astoria and Seaside lots of shopping and museums. The only real negatives are no cell service and no tv reception; also this park is very busy. While the sites are spacious it's very open so you have little privacy; and as stated in other reviews the path to the restrooms can cross your site so you need to be careful when choosing. Saw lots of people crossing our neighbors site to reach the restroom. If you don't like wood fires do not camp here - so many fires and the hosts main duty seems to be selling firewood. We camped at Fort Stevens State Park in a Motorhome.

Schroeder Park, Grants Pass, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here for a week every year so I can visit my father who lives in town. Good cell and TV reception - close to town and all of the river activities. This is a county park that relies solely on collected fees; the restrooms are very old but kept as clean as possible. There is a nice dog park and playground with basketball and tennis courts. Our stay in July was marred by the Mile 97 fire smoke but such is life in the west these days. We camped at Schroeder Park in a Motorhome.

Big Pines RV Park, Crescent, Oregon

Overall Rating:

Stayed one night on July 3, 2019; we stopped at two other parks but they were sold out. We were very pleased with this park; lovely forest setting. Very spacious sites with lots of places to walk. Only negative was lots and lots of mosquitoes. Would love to stay here again if given the opportunity. We camped at Big Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

Kahnderosa River Campground, Cataldo, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Absolutely beautiful location along the river - the freeway noise did not bother us at all! No Wi-Fi or OTA but the pads are nice level cement sites. The owners was very nice and rules low key - we would have stayed longer but they were sold out for the fourth of July week. A great value at $35 We camped at Kahnderosa River Campground in a Motorhome.

West Glacier KOA, West Glacier, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 4 nights while visiting Glacier National Park. This park is in a very beautiful setting; quite large with a variety of sites, cabins and tent spaces available. We selected a partially landscaped site and very glad we did. Our site was not level at all and looking around at our fellow campers this was not just an issue with our site. Wi-Fi was horrible; only connected consistently when sitting in front of the office; no cable TV but OTA TV was acceptable. We loved having an adults only pool and spa; VERY NICE! We didn't eat at the restaurant but the food looked and smelled good. Their store was nicely stocked and not too expensive. The ice cream in the evening was super nice. The park is very close to the west entrance of Glacier; SUPER CONVENIENT! While we enjoyed the park the rate of almost $80 was a real negative for us. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Missoula KOA, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night on our way to Glacier National Park. This park is VERY busy; lots of kids, groups and noise. The staff is very friendly; nice escort to your site; always smiling and waving at all guests. Sites are level and adequate; wi-fi strong. This KOA offers breakfast at reasonable prices; weather was not good so we skipped ice cream in the evening. Good area to walk the dogs Our main complaint was the park is just too busy and noisy. We camped at Missoula KOA in a Motorhome.

Old West RV Park, Reed Point, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Can't say enough good things about this little gem right off I-90 between Billings and Bozeman. Only stayed one night but found the RV park and the little place of Reed Point utterly charming. Very nice and new picnic tables; grass between sights; western themed bath house very clean. The hosts of the park were so friendly and helpful. Would stay longer if in the area in the future. We camped at Old West RV Park in a Motorhome.

Deer Park Campground, Buffalo, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Unfortunately not the happiest circumstances regarding our stay. We had planned to only stay one night on our way to Yellowstone but our dog became ill and we obtained an appt at the local vet. Our dog died the next evening; so we had to cancel our Yellowstone trip. The park was very helpful with the arrangements for our dog. It's a mixture of grass/gravel/dirt sites; some sites have sewer and/or cable. The restrooms while clean are very old and need updating. The prices at their store are quite reasonable. They have an ice cream social every night between 8:00pm and 8:30pm since the weather was quite cold we did not attend. We did see deer walking through the park at least three times. Very pleasant park we would stay there again. We camped at Deer Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed for 7 nights visiting Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave, Custer State Park.; received one night free resulting in a per night rate of $38.00. Rate was very good value for the area. This park had the best Wi-Fi so far on our trip. Our space was very level and was spacious. The park has a nice laundromat, game room, and playground.
