Sac West RV Park and Campground, West Sacramento, California

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Staff friendly and efficient. Tight access. Tight sites, literally only walking space between rigs. Not particularly big rig friendly. Noisy I-80 freeway 200 meters away. Sac airport flight path overhead. WiFi typical RV park poor. Analog CaTV with poor quality. Picnic table was prehistoric. Expect more for the price. All said, access to the park is decent off the I-80 and everything necessary is within 15 minutes. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Win-River Casino, Redding, California

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Perfect for an overnight stop. Little bit challenging to find as our Ford GPS jammed us up with a wrong turn coming in. Tightly spaced (it’s an overnight..so what!) concrete sites with convenient hookups. Almost long enough for our 62’ of rig/truck with a little overhang but staff was great and said not to unhook, won’t bother anyone. Verizon was good. Didn’t try the WiFi. We camped at Win-River Casino in a Travel Trailer.

Sunny Valley RV Park and Campground, Sunny Valley, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice older park that is being resurrected by current owners. Roads are tight for big rigs, but doable with a little patience. Nicely shaded, decently leveled gravel sites with good full hookups. The current owners are definitely trying to improve their facilities. I-5 is close by and can be noisy sometimes what with the inconsiderate Jake-Brake Jack-A*s semi drivers late at night...certainly not the fault of the park. Overall, a great stopover on the way from Portland to NorCal. We camped at Sunny Valley RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Neat covered bridge short walk away and a quirky interpretive “museum” along the way. Grants Pass is 15 minutes away for all those that can’t survive without a Walmart or Fred Meyer for more than a couple days. Great restaurants there too.

Pheasant Ridge RV Resort, Wilsonville, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Staff was friendly and helpful. Clean and quiet. Tight roads and tight sites. Laundry quite nice. Verizon excellent. Cable TV was mediocre. Internet was good for checking e-mail, not much more. It gets really old for almost every RV Park to claim they have good WiFi. The sad truth is VERY few have adequate WiFi for anything beyond checking the weather. All that said, this park ticks all the boxes. Portland is 20 minutes away. Good local restaurants. World Music of Speed 5 minutes from the park. We camped at Pheasant Ridge RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Granite Lake Premier RV Resort, Clarkston, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Clean, organized and well maintained corporate park. Nice location on the Snake River with a Costco and Walmart within walking distance. Bitumen sites with concrete patios. Our site wasn’t very level fore/aft, but certainly not the worst ever encountered. Little tight for bigger rigs, but manageable. Nice paved walking/bike paths along the river. We camped at Granite Lake Premier RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Blackwell Island RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Some traffic noise from nearby highway, but not horrible. Staff is very efficient and easy to work with. Sites are gravel but well maintained. Clean and newer laundry, bit of a hike from most sites. We camped at Blackwell Island RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Alpine Country Store & RV Park, Hayden, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Good things: close to Coeur d’Alene, relatively inexpensive, reasonably sized sites for big rigs. Bad things: noise from the associated gas station and the freight trains and the highway...never a quiet moment. Dusty sites, untrimmed AC grabbing trees, low water pressure (40 lbs). Can be flat dangerous trying to maneuver 62’ of combined rig across a divided highway and into the park. We camped at Alpine Country Store & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Gig Harbor RV Resort, Gig Harbor, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The park was in an excellent location with easy walking access to the town of Gig Harbor and a short drive into Tacoma. Sites were a wee bit tight side to side for big rigs, but manageable. Staff was great, always helpful. Little bit of road noise if you're towards the front of the park, but not an issue. Laundry was newer and machines all worked. If we had any complaint, it is the rock used on the pads. The gravel is so large dogs fear to tread on it. Absolute ankle twisters. Manageable but not comfortable to traverse. We camped at Gig Harbor RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Osprey Point RV Resort, Lakeside, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent park if you just want to relax by the lake, check out Coos Bay or the coastline. Great staff, almost anything you could need is on site. Pub is fun to hang out in. Fuel 1 mile away, good grocery store half mile away. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Osprey Point RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Redwoods River Resort, Leggett, California

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Challenging for big rigs. Tight, dusty sites. Great location next to Eel River. No WiFi and even Verizon was pretty much useless. Real challenge is exiting the park to go northbound on 101. Log trucks make it a roulette game. If you’re 62’ long like us, it’s an attention getter. Nothing wrong with it as a 1 or 2 night stopover. We camped at Redwoods River Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Kamp Klamath RV Park, Klamath, California

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Not really big rig friendly. Doable...but not easy. Inexperienced or timid rig operators need to be careful. Double check your understanding of the route in to this park. There are numerous opportunities to get your rig down some ridiculous rabbit holes masquerading as roads. Staff was quite friendly and accommodating. But the sites are cut for a time period 30+ years ago. Also only 30 amp sites. With the perpetually cool weather, a 50A big rig won’t need both AC units, so one can certainly survive on 30A. We camped at Kamp Klamath RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Escondido RV Resort, Escondido, California

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Wee bit close to the noise of I-15, but not obtrusive. Sites are close together, but well maintained and clean. We parked a 40' Jayco without drama. Our particular site was likely one of the best in the park with its extra side room/patio pad. Newer pedestals, well located. Staff was outstanding, check-in process was friendly, quick and efficient. We had a hedge row in our ear on our utilities/hookup side, but not a big deal...just the way it is sometimes with a 40' rig with 3 slide-outs. Escondido is close to activities in the San Diego metro area and only an hour drive to Orange County. We camped at Escondido RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
