Magnolia RV Park Resort, Vicksburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

For me this park is overnight only and I'm not likely to stay here again - I'll look for something better. It is mainly rusty old travel trailers used by construction workers. Some trailers were so decrepit there were weeds growing out of cracks in the roof and they were still being used. We camped at Magnolia RV Park Resort in a Motorhome.

Fernbrook RV Park, Longview, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park with asphalt paved roads and level concrete pads. There is plenty of room, good satellite coverage, and cable TV. The only thing missing is a store. The office has a few emergency RV supplies but not a regular little store like many parks - and NO ice cream! Very friendly and helpful staff. Would stay here again anytime. We camped at Fernbrook RV Park in a Motorhome.

Gulf Waters RV Resort, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

This is an excellent park with privately owned spaces that are individually landscaped. There are several ponds and an easy boardwalk to the beach. The sites are all back-in but it's not tight. Most sites have a separate space for the tow vehicle. We camped at Gulf Waters RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

There is plenty to do in and around Port Aransas with good shopping, lots of restaurants, and lots of water activities. Take the ferry across the channel and visit Rockport with many arts and crafts shops and the famous Fulton Mansion in neighboring Fulton, TX.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here overnight. It's 20 miles from the nearest city Winslow. It has a small convenience store and gas station and that's all. Local TV is available on an antenna. Our site was level. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Circus Circus RV Park (formerly Las Vegas / Circus Circus KOA), Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This is the most convenient RV park for the Strip - it's walking distance. It's essentially a big asphalt parking lot with RV pedestals but they have added some ambiance with a few decorative planters between some spaces. There are few trees and most spaces are just 40' ... you have to call and request anything longer but they do have up to 80' spaces, and a couple in the shade. There is a nice little store and a pool, which we did not use. We phoned well in advance and got Space 52, the longest space and in the shade. We camped at Circus Circus RV Park (formerly Las Vegas / Circus Circus KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Cowboy RV Park, Pocatello, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed overnight. The asphalt space was not very level and we needed 3" of leveling on one side. But, this park is better than the KOA in Pocatello, which only has 30A service and is dirt. We camped at Cowboy RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA, Devils Tower, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This park is at the foot of Devils Tower and right at the entrance gate. There is a restaurant and gift shop, and a much larger store and gift shop across the highway. There are some trees and grass and overall it's a nice and very convenient location for visiting Devils Tower, which you can basically see in 1/2 day. You can also drive into Sundance. The site was level. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Custer / Mount Rushmore / Black Hills KOA, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very large park with 100's of spaces and sections, and a very large kids entertainment section. It was very crowded. We had no cell phone service, no local TV, and couldn't use our satellite dish in our location. The restaurant was OK but no air conditioning and it was hot. The site was a "pull-thru" but I had to back out as there was no room to turn around. We needed a 1 1/2 inch leveling board. We camped at Custer / Mount Rushmore / Black Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Albuquerque Central KOA, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Overall Rating:

We have stayed here many times over 10 years and it's the most convenient RV park for Albuquerque's East side. You can pick from several types of sites with various amenities and the sites are pretty level. It's a bit pricey but the convenience is worth it. We camped at Albuquerque Central KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

McArthur's Temple View RV Resort, St George, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed overnight and evidently the overnighters get the "gravel and dirt parking lot" treatment despite there being many empty very nice RV spaces. This is a combination RV and mobile home park. The "parking lot" is just that, a huge gravel and dirt field with pedestals. No specific spaces, no trees, no grass, nothing. I thought this was pricey for the space but it was only overnight. We camped at McArthur's Temple View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The amenities for the long-term residents look quite nice. I would not tolerate the space we had for more than an overnight, and even so with many vacant proper RV spaces they didn't need to put us in the "parking lot".

We have stayed here overnight many times in the past 10 years as we come and go on our travels. It's very convenient with limited 50A service but a few pull-thru spaces long enough to stay hitched up. Just watch the weather as it can get nasty in this part of Texas.
