Travelers Campground, Alachua, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

The first thing we noticed was the many large speed bumps. Some really rocked the motorhome even at a crawl. Check-in was easy and we were taken to our site which was good because we likely would have had trouble finding the site on our own. The site was paved, level, our coach & toad did not quite fit the site but this was not a problem. All the utilities worked well. All roads are paved. The cost was a little high but this is Florida and this is what one gets this time of year. We camped at Travelers Campground in a Motorhome.

Hitchin Post Corral and Campground RV Park, Cottondale, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

When we drove it we thought, oh boy what did we get into? The county road is rough and bumpy. Drove in and looking for the office. Stopped at the stop sign and the owner ran out to meet us. She is friendly and helpful. We filled out the paperwork and she led us to our site. A level gravel pull-thru that was plenty long enough for our coach and toad with full hook ups that worked well. This is a mom and pop style small RV park right next to I10. There is some road noise but it did not bother us. Nothing fancy but a hidden gem for the money. We stayed in a motorhome. We camped at Hitchin Post Corral and Campground RV Park in a Motorhome.

Forrest County RV Park, Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Full hookups, concrete pads and paved roads. Overall, an ok RV park. The big downside is that most of the sites are not level. We could only find 3 sites that were close to level. We were lucky that there was almost nobody else there so we could get a level site. The concrete approach to each pad was basically the same width as our coach. All utilities worked fine. We camped in a 40' motorhome and we just fit on the level section of our pad with our backend about 6" from the power box and the front tires hanging on the edge of the level section. There are no pull-thru sites. We camped at Forrest County RV Park in a Motorhome.

Spencers RV Park, Paris, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Not a place we would return to. Very tight spacing. Slides were almost touching. Water hookup was well below ground level and made attaching a hose difficult. 50A service worked well but the connection was so close to the ground one had to get on our hands and knees to turn off the breaker. Attaching a surge protector was not easy. Everything worked well but was hard to use. There is a concrete drainage ditch running thru the park and will really rocks a motorhome. Our site was a mix of concrete and gravel and was close to level. Roads were gravel and smooth except for the drainage ditch. We camped in a motorhome. Most other sites had TT's on them. Tree branches, on trees in the road leading to the park, will scrap the top of a motorhome if one swings wide to enter the park. The entrance is narrow and tight. We camped at Spencers RV Park in a Motorhome.

Walnut RV Park, Vega, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is not much to looked at. Kinda like a 1950ish Routs 66 RV Park. Gravel road and site. All services worked well and our site was level and long enough to hold our coach and toad. Camp host was friendly and helpful. Only issue we had was in the site next door two RV's tried to share one site, one facing forward and the other parked within 3' of us on the grass, facing the other direction, so they both could hook up to the parks power and water. They arrived late at night. We camped at Walnut RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wanderlust Crossings RV Park, Weatherford, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent RV Park. Easy off and on I-40. Paved roads and a level concrete site that was far longer then our 42' coach and toad. As a traveler there is not much more one would ask for. I did not use their WiFi. We traveled in a motorhome. We camped at Wanderlust Crossings RV Park in a Motorhome.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to find this RV Park, located on the south side of Santa Fe. The entrance and main road were paved but the interior roads and site were gravel. We had requested a pull-thru when we made the reservation in June. However, when we got there all that was available was a back in. The site we were given was very tight and took several maneuvers to get into. The sites were very close to neighbors. All the utilities work fine and our site was very close to level. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA, Pueblo, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Easy off and on I25. All utilities worked fine. Did not use the WiFi. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a pull-thru site that was long enough for our coach and toad. We unhooked and went to the store. Our site was not level and the same was true for most of those around us. The back end was lower than the front and we were not able to level up without lifting the back tires off the ground which is a bad idea and we did not do. It was okay for a one night stay. We travel in a motorhome. We camped at Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA in a Motorhome.

Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA , Fort Collins, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Overall this KOA is good. The park is located in an industrial zone which makes entering interesting. The main gate is very narrow just a few feet wider then our motorhome. Check in was fine and we were taken to our site. The site had a level concrete pad. Roads were gravel and several speed bumps on the entrance and exit. There was some grass between site but not much. Sites were well spaced and all utilities worked well. Our site was open enough to get a satellite signal and more then long enough for the coach and toad. WiFi was very slow and not real usable. We could not connect to AT&T's cell signal. We camped in a 42' motorhome. The park has a hot, dry, and dusty industrial feel. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

Mount Rushmore KOA at Palmer Gulch, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

As others have stated the KOA Resort is very expensive. The only reason we stayed here was because it is close to Mt. Rushmore. Roads are a mix of gravel and pavement. Our site was somewhat level but low in the front and was basically dirt and red clay with some gravel mixed in. After a rain storm the site turned into a mud mess which sticks to everything. To avoid having a muddy mess at our enter door we had to park on the left side of the site and could not open our left side slide because of a tree. All the sites near us were covered with mud. WiFi worked well early in the morning and late at night. During late afternoons and evenings it was zero, just too many people for the size of the system. There is no cell phone service. I asked about emergency situations and was told there is a pay phone in the closed shopping area. After Labor Day most of the facilities in the Resort are closed and the Resort closes at the end of September. There were many RV's present when we were there. We camped in a 42' motorhome and our pull-thru site was not long enough for our MH and toad. We had to park sidewise in the front of the coach working not to track in mud. There are several other RV campgrounds in the area that we will stay at next time. We camped at Mount Rushmore KOA at Palmer Gulch in a Motorhome.

Badlands / White River KOA, Interior, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Stay here 2 nights, should have stayed longer lots to see. Good RV Park. Gravel roads and site that was level. On the downside, no cell service and WiFi was slow. Interior is a town of 67 people and has few services. There is a small grocery store with limited supplies. Be warned that getting to Interior from I90 one must enter the Badlands National Park and there is a fee of $25/car. If you have a Senior Pass there is no fee. It's well worth traveling the Badlands Loop Road to Wall. Then take in Wall Drug. Lots of tour buses stop at Wall Drug so shopping and eating can be interesting. Wall has about 900 people. We camped in a motorhome. Our site was just long enough for our 42' coach and toad but not connected. We unhooked at the office. The office staff was very helpful regarding what to see and how to get to The Black Hills after we left. We camped at Badlands / White River KOA in a Motorhome.

Mitchell KOA, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped here for one night. Easy to find and access. The roads are smooth gravel. Site was level with good hookups. Nothing real special or negative to report. The big attraction is The Corn Palace which is about 3 miles away and is well worth the trip to check out. Friendly staff and good suggestion for place to eat. The Depot and Grill for good food. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Motorhome.

Interstate RV Park, Davenport, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Strong recommend making a reservation because park is often full. Gravel site that was somewhat level. Roads were gravel but in good condition. Big Rigs may have some trouble traveling within the park. Not much scenery, more like an industrial setting. The best I could get was 30amps as the park was full. Site were very close together. All the hookups worked well. The sewer was at the back of the site and we needed at least 25' of hose. Good for a one night stop. Good cell phone service, did not try WiFi. Staff was friendly and helpful. We have a 42' motorhome and toad. We camped at Interstate RV Park in a Motorhome.

Michigan City Campground, Michigan City, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Good level site, all hookups worked well, roads were gravel but were no problem, site was gravel with a concrete pad, WiFi was poor. Easy on and off I94. Had to press speaker button for them to unlock entrance gait. Office was hard to spot as the sign blends in with the surrounding. Check in was no problem. The area had several inches of rain the night before and the park drained well. We found very little standing water. Will stay here again when in the area. Traveled in 42' motorhome with toad. River Ridge Resort, Stanwood, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent family RV Resort with lots for kids to do. The site we were given was a back-in that was about 6" low in the rear. This made leveling interesting. I don't like lifting the rear very high with jacks as our parking brakes are on the back wheels. Therefore, we could not get level and looking around at others all the 5th wheels were set up on several leveling blocks in the rear. For a short stay that was "ok" but for long stays it would not work for motorhomes. Landscaping on the drivers side made accessing the water compartment a challenge. We stayed in a motorhome. We camped at River Ridge Resort in a Motorhome.
