Fish Creek Campground (NPS Campground), Glacier National Park, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Dry camping at National Park. Generators allowed but few used them, so the park was nice and quiet. Most sites are the pull through, semi-circle type, with the picnic table/fire pit off to the side. Some are tighter than others, but many big RVs there. Also be prepared to level your unit. You are, after all, out in the wilderness. Very shady. We camped at Fish Creek Campground (NPS Campground) in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

I recommend Glacier Grille & Pizza, about 5 miles outside of the park for a good meal. ALSO, use the park shuttle when going to Avalanche Lake/Cedar trail. You will NOT find parking there and it is a LONG way to double back. Cheers!

Days Inn Ritzville (formerly Cedars Inn Ritzville RV Park), Ritzville, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very small spaces, overpriced for what they offer. I had a pull through but still had to unhook my 25' trailer from my pickup. Sites are flat, some with trees. The property is all dirt and they use wood chips to keep the dust down. Problem is, these chips end up in every corner of your rig. The staff was nice and helpful, and the laundry room was clean and reasonably priced. That being said, the one thing they DIDN'T mention is that they are not only near a train track, but they are close to a spot where the trains are required to blow their horns for an extended period. This was unfortunate because we chose not to stay at another location where they had warned us about trains in advance and we went here instead. I would consider this place in the future only as a last resort. We camped at Days Inn Ritzville (formerly Cedars Inn Ritzville RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

City Park Campground, Dufur, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very easy going process to book and pay for the site, that was appreciated. Sites are clean, grassy, nice shade and I was able to keep my 25' trailer attached to my truck. A big plus. Very glad I chose this location as a stop over on my long trip. Will definitely stay here again when in the neighborhood. We camped at City Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Peaceful Pines RV Park, Cheney, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

I had a back in spot and was able to keep my truck connected to my 25' trailer. Staff was friendly and helpful. I am a light sleeper and worried about the proximity to the trains, but once I fell asleep I did not wake up until morning. These folks were nice enough to alert me to the trains prior to booking. Another RV park down the road did not, so points for running their business with integrity. Yes, I would return when back in this area. We camped at Peaceful Pines RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

49er RV Ranch, Columbia, California

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Family friendly park. Spots are pretty close to each other but we didn't feel cramped, and staff was very helpful in parking our trailer. We felt right at home here, enjoyed the amenities, especially the Friday hot dog/chili. We ended up meeting folks from an RV club who invited us to join them and we had a lot of fun. I would definitely return when staying in this area again. We camped at 49er RV Ranch in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Calaveras Big Trees is an excellent day trip - only a 45 minute drive. Beautiful hiking & picnicking. Natural Bridges is a nice place IF you want to play in the creek; the .7 mile hike has a 300+ foot decline going to the creek, so the water is the prize at the end of the hike. Railtown 1897 Historic Park in Jamestown is not so much a train museum as a historical site. A rustic depot with many trains in 'aged' states. That being said, the docent tour is well worth the $5 admission.

Yosemite Pines RV Resort & Family Lodging, Groveland, California

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, good sized sites, not too close to your neighbor like a lot of RV parks. Friendly staff, park was clean and well taken care of. The roads are dirt but well maintained - in fact maintenance was being done to them the day we left. This park has a definite 'camping' feel to it. We enjoyed our stay and would return when in this area. We camped at Yosemite Pines RV Resort & Family Lodging in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Yosemite valley floor is a scenic, one hour drive. Leave early and beat the crowds. The 'scary' Priest Grade, a 4.5 mile windy stretch of 120 rising up from Oakdale isn't really that bad. Relax and take your time; that won't be a problem because there will be other slow pokes ahead of you. Columbia, a 45 min drive north (back down the Priest Grade), is a restored gold mining town just outside of Sonora; a fun day trip for the kids.

Bodega Bay RV Park, Bodega Bay, California

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice, well kept park in beautiful Bodega Bay. Wifi and cable were fine. A nice walking trail nearby which was a plus. The back-in spots can be a bit tight to get into, but once you are in, each site is adequately roomy by RV park standards. 'Above ground' fire pits, gas or wood, allowed. Three clean dog-play areas was appreciated. A bit pricey, but considering the location, its what the market will bear and we were very happy with our stay here. See you again soon! We camped at Bodega Bay RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Boulder Creek, California

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful but old state park with very small campsites. Park limit is 24' for trailers, and after looking at each site in the park, many of the spots designated for trailers will not accommodate the full 24'. Good for teardrops, popups and very small trailers. Further, when towing you need to come in from the south/Santa Cruz. The northern entrance is a one-way road at times and you will surely regret trying to come in that way. We camped at Big Basin Redwoods State Park in a Travel Trailer.
