Sweetwater Events Complex - RV Park (formerly Sweetwater Fairgrounds), Rock Springs, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Huge facility. Go past main entrance, use livestock entrance. Followed signs to caretakers house. Fenced yard with dogs, sign on fence saying go to large building. People in large building say go to caretakers house. Entered with other campers with same problem. Found a site, which are not marked but appear to be in sections of 30 and 50 amp. Bathroom facility is exceptional as others have posted. Left early the next morning per our plans. Never located the caretaker. We camped at Sweetwater Events Complex - RV Park (formerly Sweetwater Fairgrounds) in a Travel Trailer.

Heyburn Riverside RV Park, Heyburn, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

City owned park along the river. It adjoines closely with city park with its own graffiti problem on buildings. Upkeep is average but nothing special. Maybe fun camping with a group. Used it as a stopover, was fine for that. WiFi is basically non existent. We camped at Heyburn Riverside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Boise / Meridian KOA, Meridian, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

A KOA within the city of Meridian. Give it 4 stars. Advertises WiFi. Hands out info with check-in paper work on how inadequate their WiFi is. Even has "nostreamimng" as the password. Coming to believe if the service is advertised it should be accessible, which it is not. It's a quiet average park with good access to the area. We camped at Boise / Meridian KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Riverpark RV Resort, Grants Pass, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park offers a good value while visiting this area. The park in no way offers resort amenities. It's basically a place to park your rig with hook ups. The park in itself is decades old and has not had many up dates. The sites are concrete and cracked and showing it's age. The road is very narrow and the spaces are very close, made worse by mature trees. Staff is friendly and assist in parking you which is good. The park has nothing for kids except a very tight road to ride in a circle. Having Rogue River frontage is really nothing in this area, as the river offers no beach and has little accessibility. Rvs are parked so tight you can't see it or walk down the path to it as advertised, because an RV is parked on the path also. It really only poses a danger to children and serves no use. If you come to the park with real expectations of it's really just a place to park with poor WiFi you should be ok. We camped at Riverpark RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Durango RV Resort, Red Bluff, California

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice newer facility. Check in was easy, though the desk staff were not that friendly. Large concrete site, with easy access. Pool and spa as well as meeting hall are kept very clean. Great stopover place to spend a couple days and rest. Would stay here again. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Burrito Bandito has decent food at a good price. A local chain, with the same concept of Chipotle but all toppings are included in price and not an add on price.

Jackson Rancheria RV Park, Jackson, California

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. Check in was easy and quick, RV park staff are friendly, the park and services are kept very clean. While it's a nice place, without a discount, it would be on the edge of the price for what the area provides, as far as value. We camped at Jackson Rancheria RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Shuttle from park to casino. Be aware that online menus for food does not match actual menu. Staff develops attitude if requested to actually do what is advertised online. Would not return due to poor service at casino.

The Lakes RV & Golf Resort, Chowchilla, California

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to stay, good value for the quality of the park. Even better value if you play golf as it's included in rv space rent. The only cons are the spa was built way to small for this size park, it's over run in the day with children, and in the evening by beer drinking golfers relaxing. It's also very over used and the staff does not clean it on time to open at the posted time. Also the WiFi is useless, just plan on providing your own and it won't be a disappointment. Would stay here again. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Pismo Coast Village RV Resort, Pismo Beach, California

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

After no visiting this place for several years, it really seemed like it has aged in the world of RV resort titles. It is best summed up by saying it's kinda like a cheap motel that everybody brings their own rooms to. The sights are very close with no barrier. If your neighbors sit at their table and talk, you just join in sitting at the table inside your RV. Literally it's that loud and apparent. The park itself opens to a creek, NOT the beach. You have to walk the creek to get to the beach. The creek levels fluctuate daily. The park in convenient to walk to the pier and downtown. The grounds are well maintained and showing it's age in some areas. The value of the park is just average compared to more moderns parks of its kind. The hook ups work well, and it has some of the best hi speed WiFi you will find. We camped at Pismo Coast Village RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Foster Park, Ventura, California

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Foster Park is located about 6 miles inland from Ventura and is convenient to explore the area. The park it's self has 10 full hook up sites with newer cement pads, that all slope to some degree front to back. The bathrooms are small but kept clean. The general maintenance of the grounds iis poor, and this appear to be Ventura Counties step child park. The park host is nice and informative and has done the same job for 19 years. All in all it's an ok and safe place with some history, to stay while visiting the area. No OTA TV but cell phone service works in the area. We camped at Foster Park in a Travel Trailer.

Make sure you walk across the bridge and see the old Foster bowl amphitheater, sad to see such a good idea in such decay.

Tapo Canyon Park, Simi Valley, California

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This park is about 4 miles north of the 118 freeway in a canyon. There are ample services 4 miles away in Simi Valley just a short drive away. Ventura County and the park host takes pride in the upkeep of this site. The grounds are clean and grass is mowed nicely. The cement pads are nice and all appear level. The hook ups work well and are modern. The sewer connection is elevated and creates the usual problems with that arrangement. Be aware the park is frequented by coyotes at night chasing rabbits and come on to the grounds. Don't leave any food out, and if you need to go out after dark, be prepared with a good flashlight for safety. There are also rattlesnakes present in this area but not a problem. There is no OTA TV, and as stated no cell service for the most part. Cell service picks up about 1 1/2 mile down the road toward Simi Valley. However I was able to consistently get 4G Verizon service inside the men's toilet stall seated on the toilet. I was able to send messages, email. And make calls from the toilet stall. Kinda crazy but may be good knowledge to try in case of emergency. My wife tried it in women's and it was a no go, I took her phone in the men's and it worked like a champ. Seems like a decent mix of campers just having fun with their family. I would use this again if in the area. We camped at Tapo Canyon Park in a Tent Trailer.

Blue Sky Ranch RV Park (formerly Arizona Sands RV Park) (55+ Park), Yuma, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a typical long stay park for the area that takes short term and overnight travelers. The park grounds and facilities are kept clean and in good repair. It was ok for a short stop over while in the Yuma area. Other than that it would be unfair for me to say much more, because I'm just not crazy about the whole area. Value was good for the area. It's about a 5 mile drive to downtown Yuma from the park. We camped at Blue Sky Ranch RV Park (formerly Arizona Sands RV Park) (55+ Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Tombstone RV Park and Campground, Tombstone, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The best maintained park in the area. The park is well maintained and clean. Staff is very nice and check in is easy. The park is nice and quiet during the week. But beware it's very busy and noisy on weekends when it's full. Most abide by quiet time, but some don't. Some owners do not leash their dogs. WiFi is pretty much non existent when Park is full. There really is not a great area for your dog, as the grounds are covered with crush rock. Tombstone seems to be a tired town, with tired ideas just wanting dollars. It really is a day trip type town, rather than a destination. Would not return only because of lack of interest in the whole thing, and no need to see it again. We camped at Tombstone RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Check in was very fast and professional, by courteous staff. Park grounds are kept very clean, sites are good sized with average spacing for a park this size. All facilities were clean and in good working order. It's a nice park and a good value. Good location to visits all parts of city. Historic town of Mesilla only one mile to the south. Tumble In RV Park , Marfa, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Doesn't look like much from the highway, but nothing out here does. Reserve online is easy, just read the instructions regarding your in and out dates. Park is basicically an open field with hookups. Sites are long and ample for most any rig. Drive through available, back ins are very long. Restrooms and showers are clean. Offers one washer and dryer, and primitive meal prep, dining area if tenting. Train track nearby, most action is during evening. Some night trains, but not bad. Arrive and register at small trailer, your site will be listed on a board. This park is the closest to the Marfa lights viewing area. About 1/2 mile east of Marfa. Wifi works well. Really this park delivers what it advertises, in a low key way, we stayed there 4 nights and would use it again. We camped at Tumble In RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Plenty of things to do for a few days. Visiting Alpine and Fort Davis. Marfa Lights and McDonald Observatory are big draws. Be aware that many eateries in Marfa are only open Friday and weekends. Marfa burritos is open daily and has a nice homemade burrito. Food shark is worth finding, the Greek food is great.
