Sunny Acres RV Park (55+ park), Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I don't normally rate a park again unless something changes. The woman that works the desk definitely needs to be replaced she does not do justice to what is a good RV park otherwise. Everything else is quite satisfactory. It would be good to have a place for our dog to do his business in the park however. All of the utilities were adequate. The WiFi was adequate. We will stay here again and again in the future. We camped at Sunny Acres RV Park (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Shiprock RV Resort (55+ park), Apache Junction, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park sure to be filled almost entirely with winter visitors from the north country. The park is pretty new, and all of the facilities are more than adequate. There are lots of activities available, and the winter residents are very friendly. This park is a winter destination park where almost all of the RVs are parked for the entire wintertime. They have been erecting park models here at a rapid pace, but most spaces are still occupied by RVs. You will need to make reservations way ahead of your planned stay since there are very few unoccupied spaces in the park during the season. The park office closes at 3 PM so plan your arrival accordingly. The cost of our stay is based on the monthly cost since we stayed two months. We would stay here again. We camped at Shiprock RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Lakeside RV and Campground, Provo, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was friendly and helpful upon check in. Our spot was a pullin which was easily accessible from the office. The utilities were adequate but the shared pedestal with the side by side parking is something I totally dislike in a park of this price. Our slides are only scant feet from our side by side neighbor and that one thing causes me to downgrade the rating of this park. There is commingled recycling here, which I applaud them for. The park WiFi actually works which is a rarity in most parks. We do have a Verizon 4G connection if we need it. There are lots of shade trees but we still got DirecTV on our dish. We would stay here again. We camped at Lakeside RV and Campground in a Motorhome.

Gros Ventre Campground (Concessionaire Operated), Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful park. If you have a big rig, you need to select your site carefully. We were able to get our Verizon Broadband Wireless Internet and cell phone to work albeit poorly at times. Our DirecTV worked well from our site and there are 6 local channels available as well. The water is great so you will want to fill your tank here. There is a definite bottleneck in the dump site/drinking water site so you will need to be patient. They could improve this situation easily if they wanted to. There is limited recycling there as well. We would definitely stay here again. It is first come first served so plan accordingly. We camped at Gros Ventre Campground (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Rock Springs / Green River KOA, Rock Springs, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We used the KOA discount card to get a lower price. The utilities were adequate and cable TV is in the price for the stay. The WiFi was not very good from our site so we used our Verizon MiFi device instead. There are absolutely no trees here and the park is your basic dusty gravel parking lot. The staff is great here and was very helpful upon check in. It has all of the KOA amenities including a pool which looked inviting. We stayed here a couple of years ago and the park doesn't seem to have as many permanent residents as it did back then and most of these folks are behind the separating wooden fence which is a good thing. We will likely stay here again sometime. We camped at Rock Springs / Green River KOA in a Motorhome.

Laramie KOA, Laramie, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This KOA is typical of most KOAs in that they cost more than most other parks. This park has everything but a pool. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The park store is very nice and the many other amenities are better than the average. The cable TV is included in the price and has many more channels than a person could ever use. Yes, we are close to the Interstate and there is some noise but it is not any worse than many other parks across the land. There is a wonderful dog park which we used. There is propane like other KOAs. The utilities are adequate and the water is extremely high pressure so use your regulator. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Laramie KOA in a Motorhome.

Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground), Ogallala, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

The park is very basic. OK for one night but that about it. There is really no shade and the pads are gravel and weeds. The hookups are adequate and the WiFi was nonexistent so we used our Verison Broadband Wireless. We used the meager Passport America discount since it is "the season" in Ogallala. There are plenty of goat heads so watch your pet's paws. I doubt that we would ever stay here again. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Motorhome.

Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground, Altoona, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

This is probably the finest campground in the state of Iowa. We reviewed the park about three years ago, and since then, they have redone the pond in the center of the park and have added many other improvements. We simply cannot find anything wrong with this park. The owners and employees are very friendly and helpful; they go that extra mile. We stay here for about three months each year so we pay the monthly rate. This park is difficult to get into so make sure to make reservations. We will stay here over and over again. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Rock Creek COE, Perry, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the best cared for COE parks ever. They only recycle aluminum cans here; the Feds need to set a better example for RV parks. The electric and water hookups were spot on. Our space was fairly level. The town of Perry is close for shopping. We had great views from our rig of the lake. We would stay here in the future. We camped at Rock Creek COE in a Motorhome.

Minooka Park COE, Sylvan Grove, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

What a beautiful lake and a great RV park. This is the clearest lake water we have seen since we were in Glacier National Park last year. The price reflects our senior pass price. The water and electric utilities were spot on. The dump station is one of the best we have seen in a while. Make sure you go to Lucus for some interesting art! We will be back again in the future. We camped at Minooka Park COE in a Motorhome.

Raton Pass Camp and Cafe (Formerly Cedar Rail), Raton, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Great park for a couple nights. The management is great and led us right to our spot. The space was difficult to get totally level but we got it well enough. Lots of hummingbirds so we deployed a feeder. Total hookups were adequate. Well water is great here. Beautiful views in all directions. We would stay here again. We camped at Raton Pass Camp and Cafe (Formerly Cedar Rail) in a Motorhome.

San Felipe's Casino Hollywood, San Felipe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

The $10 price was right even though we lost much more than that in the casino but I guess that is the idea, right. The electric was up to snuff. There is great security. The truck noise from the adjacent truck parking area was bad where we were. There is a dump station. We would likely use this place again. We camped at San Felipe's Casino Hollywood in a Motorhome.

Boot Hill RV Resort, Alamogordo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is probably one of the better RV parks in the Alamogordo area. Our costs reflect Good Sams and Passport America discounts. The pros are that the management is good and they led us to our site. The utility hookups were adequate as expected. The cons were that the highway noise was fairly loud and there was no shade what so ever. One of my pet peeves is they have no recycling of any kind in this day and age. We would stay here again but also would check further into some of the other parks first. We camped at Boot Hill RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sunny Acres RV Park (55+ park), Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a real good RV park in this area. All of the hookups were more than adequate. The Wi-Fi is great from site #6. The site is level with a gravel surface. The access roads are a bit dusty. The manager was both friendly and helpful. They have free coffee and donuts on Saturday morning. There is recycling in the park. We will stay here in the future. We camped at Sunny Acres RV Park (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve, Santee, California

Date of Stay: January, 2012 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the best full service campgrounds we have ever reviewed. The staff is very helpful. The place is absolutely spotless. There is co-mingled recycling available. The spaces are huge. All utilities including cable hookups are spot on. Call first to determine your cost of your space; we had the monthly rate in the new section. There are an abundance of activities available. There is something for everyone. We will come back here year after year for at least a month. We camped at Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve in a Motorhome.
