Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Rigs are parked close together and the sewer "hookup" is very strange (something mandated by the health department). We chose to dump tanks at our next destination. The power and water were adequate. We opted for a longer pull-through so we could park our toad behind our motorhome. All of the services you might require are very close by. I had a Verizon 4G wireless connection for my MiFi. We would stay here again. We camped at Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town in a Motorhome.

WillowWind RV Park, Hurricane, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We had the Good Sam discount but the 11.5% in taxes negated the discount plus. This is a great park that is well run. They had good utilities and they will let you wash your rig plus toad if you wish. The electric box and the cable hookup are way behind your rig which was a bit strange but it worked for us. We would definitely stay here again and again. A good place to stay for Zion. The town has most services. We camped at WillowWind RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fort Caspar Campground, Casper, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Good park for an overnight. Paid the Passport America rate. Rigs park close together and there are many energy workers parked for long term. The parking surface is gravel. The park owner is real nice and was very helpful. You may wash your rig here with no problems, my neighbor told me. All utilities were good. We would stay again for a night. We camped at Fort Caspar Campground in a Motorhome.

Custer's Gulch RV Park, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

If there ever was a 10 rating, this park gets it! All of the utilities are adequate. The Wi-Fi was over 5 MBPS when I checked it. Our Verizon connection was OK. The employees were very good and answered all of our questions so you may want to disregard the previous rating someone gave this park. The scenery from the park is just beautiful and it is just outside the entrance to Custer State Park. Bike and hiking trails can be accessed right from the RV park. This is probably in our top 10 parks we have ever rated. We will be back! We camped at Custer's Gulch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Price reflects Passport America membership with 50 amp service ($2 extra/night). Park was pretty full with many Escapees going to the Escapade in Gillette, WY. All utilities were adequate. Wi-Fi and Verizon were very good here. Check out the Monday evening hamburger special on Monday evenings at Marlin's across the street. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Korte's Checkers Welcome Campground, Welcome, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

We got propane here as we were coming in. The price per night in the park reflects the Passport America discount. The owners are real nice here and led us to our spot and assisted us in parking. The utilities are adequate. They put us in a pull through that allowed us to access DirecTV. We have no problem with seasonal RVers living in the park; they seemed real nice. They keep some pull throughs open for people who only stay from 1-3 nights. You can leave your toad attached if you wish. We would stay here again. We camped at Korte's Checkers Welcome Campground in a Motorhome.

Sudbury Court Motel & RV Park, Marengo, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Nice small basic RV park behind a small old style motel. The utilities were up to par and our stay here was good. The owner led us to our site and visited with us to make sure everything was okay. The Wi-Fi was good and our Verizon signal was good as well. The gravel entrance into the park was pretty dusty, but it was only a short distance to our site. It was easy for us to get level. We would stay here again in the future. We camped at Sudbury Court Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hunt's Cedar River Campground, Tipton, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Camped here for the 50 amp service on a very hot day before going to HWH for jack service the next day. The mile long gravel road to the RV park was a real wash board and extremely dusty. The 50 amp service was spot on. We didn't need a sewer site for just one night. The pool was refreshing on a very hot day. The site was just grass but was surprisingly level. The noise from the very close by I-80 would have been much worse if we hadn't been using our air conditioners all night. The guy checking us in was nice and helpful. We would stay here again for a night if we had to. We camped at Hunt's Cedar River Campground in a Motorhome.

Autumn Woods RV Park, Rochester, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We had 3 of our grandkids with us and even though the park is not really kid friendly, we made it through the night with no problems. If my wife and I were here to go to Mayo Clinic, we would definitely stay here. All utilities worked just fine here. The park is quiet and the staff was friendly. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Autumn Woods RV Park in a Motorhome.

Thompson West End Campground, Washburn, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Wow, super place to stay especially if you have kids along as we did. The playground, beach, fishing pier and hiking trail are excellent. The park is well cared for and even though there are seasonal rigs in the park, you need to look past that. Even though they don't have water and sewer hookups the 50 amp electric is spot on; and, wow, cable TV. Hey, don't tell anyone about this place; it'll be our secret. We camped at Thompson West End Campground in a Motorhome.

Town & Country RV Park and Campground, Savage, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park is an older one, and the price is rather high even with the Good Sam's discount, but this is the city, and prices are usually high in these city locations. The grandkids liked the little playground and its gnome goodie hide. All of the utilities and Wi-Fi were adequate for our motorhome. This location is close to many attractions in the area. We camped at Town & Country RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Apostle Islands Area Campground, Bayfield, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park is is in a good location for Bayfield and Apostle Islands visits but the park is rather overpriced for what you get. All of the utilities are in good working order but the Wi-Fi a bit weak. We enjoyed being here but will go south to Washburn to stay in a city park for half the price here. The park owner is very friendly and helpful. Our 38 foot motorhome fit well in our site. The lake view from our more expensive site was rather good. We camped at Apostle Islands Area Campground in a Motorhome.

Horse Thief Campground - BLM, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $6.00
Overall Rating:

The campground host was very helpful and runs a very tight ship here; he even suggested Jeep trails we could try with our stock Liberty. He patrols the park numerous times a day to make sure things are fine for all of the guests. He will give anyone the boot if they are clearly breaking the rules. This is dry camping at its finest: come to the park with your water tank full and your other tanks empty if you plan to stay for a while. We stayed in our 38 ft motorhome with our Jeep towed and had plenty of room in one of the larger sites. We definitely would stay here again! We camped at Horse Thief Campground - BLM in a Motorhome.

Grand Island KOA, Doniphan, Nebraska

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The owners were very helpful and their delivery of hot pizza to our door was super. All utilities worked as they should have. We spent Easter here with the wind howling and the skies dreary so the owners here made the difference. Our jacks wouldn't go down so they made sure we had a very level site. We would stay here again. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

OK RV Park & Canyonlands Stables, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We paid the Passport America price for 50 Amp service of $19.50 plus tax. The electricity was right on and the pull-through site was large enough for our 38 ft. motorhome plus our Jeep toad. The road coming in and the park itself are dusty so you may want to disconnect your toad before entering the facility. We would stay here again for a few days to prepare for BLM dry camping. We camped at OK RV Park & Canyonlands Stables in a Motorhome.
