Branch Brook Campground, Thomaston, Connecticut

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Beware if you stop just for overnight in their one pull thru spot, you will have no cable, not a hope of getting satellite and no OTA channels. Just wish they had informed us of this before we made the one night $53.00 reservation. My husband and I have been traveling for 4 months and really need the diversion that TV affords. The park is clean, almost all seasonal RVs. Not a lot of space to walk your dogs even though it is across the street from a state park. We weren’t unhooking and it looked to be quite a hike. Oh yes, their WiFi does not reach to this pull through site. $53. Really?? We camped at Branch Brook Campground in a Motorhome.

Tuxbury Pond RV Resort, South Hampton, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Beware when making a reservation at this campground using the Passport America program. They will only give you the discount if you book through Passport America. Which we did. But when we arrived at campground the front office informed us that corporate Passport America doesn't communicate very well with the campground, therefore they only had us booked for 4 nights versus the 14 days we requested. This was over the 4th of July period so we had booked months in advance to make sure we had a spot. We eventually were able to stay for the entire 14 days but it was quite the hassle. The campground is basically built in a swamp so the flies and mosquitoes are fierce. The dumpsters were extremely far from the campground and were only accessible by car which is very inconvenient. There were lots of activities for children and two nice pools. There are mostly seasonal campers here but on the whole they were friendly. We would not stay here again due to the whole booking hassle and the bugs. The roads need some serious work as there were many, many unavoidable potholes. We camped at Tuxbury Pond RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

30 minutes from nearest train station to go to Salem or Boston. One hour ride to Boston. 30 minutes or so to the beaches. Lots to do in this area.
