Forest Lake RV Park & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails), Advance, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicer campgrounds we've stayed at. Could use some cleaning in laundry mat. Staff is friendly. Quiet. Beautiful lake on site. Maybe feed the ducks. Two huge pools and a hot tub. Closed for the season. Adult lodge as well as family area to hang out. Lots of books to swap. Games n stuff for the kids in the family area. WiFi is a bit sketchy. We have a hotspot so that's helpful. Unlike a lot of thousand trails you don't get to pick your site. Already assigned upon your arrival. Pleased with our site. There is a store I haven't been inside. Restrooms I haven't been in either since I have one in my RV. There is a restaurant that was only open on the weekends. There are cabins down by the lake. They look Cozy. Overall great campground. Great for families or a grown up getaway. I would stay here again. We camped at Forest Lake RV Park & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Williamsburg RV & Camping Resort, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: November, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a week. Really nice campground. Friendly staff. Indoor and outdoor pools including a wading pool outdoor. Good size hot tub indoor. Reading/board game room next to office. Huge game room with air hockey and pool tables. Laundry room has 4 washers and 4 dryers. $2 each. You can add extra quarters to dryer for extra time. Dryers dry really good. Sink and towel dispenser available in laundry room. Big fish tank and leopard gecko across from office. I loved the gecko! Koi pond outside office. Overall I would say kinda dated park but still very nice. Quiet the whole time we were there. Will definitely stay here again when we're in the area. We camped at Williamsburg RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Loved Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. While in the area our Class A Motorhome needed an oil change. Having the Ford Triton V-10 we had the oil changed at CMA's Williamsburg Ford for about $85.

Camp Meade RV Park (Military FamCamp), Fort Meade Army Post, Maryland

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

An Excellent Military FamCamp close to Washington DC and Baltimore. Plenty of room between sites. Grassy areas to walk the dogs on. Nice concrete pads with gravel patios, firepits and picnic tables. Lots of road construction going on around the base so be careful with the directions. Very large base with all the amenities you'd expect. The BX and Commissary are really nice. We camped at Camp Meade RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

So much to do nearby. Mostly we spent our time exploring the National Parks around the area. Both Baltimore and Washington DC are easy to get to. We took the Metro trains from Greenbelt Station to Washington DC. It was about a 30 minute drive in the mornings to the station. Our favorite place to eat nearby was Orchard Cafe in Odenton. Great food for a great price. Very friendly staff. Makes you feel like family when you go in.

Great park in a great location. Very well kept park. We had a nice quiet site in the H loop. All the staff we dealt with were very friendly. Pool looks good but of course closed for the season. We did enjoy the hot tub a few nights of our stay. We camped at Hershey RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Timothy Lake Campground South - Thousand Trails, East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Timothy Lake South is a very nice campground. We got to choose between spots in the open or wooded areas. We chose a fairly large back in site in the open area. The site backed to the woods. Some friends parked in the wooded area and ended up moving to the open area due to the number of acorns falling on their motorhome. The amenities were in good shape and the pool looked nice although it was closed for the season. The campground was quiet the whole time we were there. Our stay was great. We camped at Timothy Lake Campground South - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Sturbridge RV Resort, Sturbridge, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Nice quiet campground. RVs are really close. Check in is weird. It took almost 15 mins to actually have a human help us out. Went to office. It was locked. Could hear people inside. Store seemed to be closed both days we tried to check it out. No hours on the door. Neighbor told us hours are posted in laundry room. Turns out they are closed Mon-Tues. Restrooms are clean. Like the individual lights in each shower. Showers have chipped paint. We will not be using them since we have a shower in our RV. Pool says open at noon. 1:45 today still locked. Still not sure where to find an employee if I need one. Adult only area you need to ask for key to get in. My dogs give four paws up for the dog park. Lots of "stuff" on the annuals sites. Kinda cluttered up. Dog at C-2 is annoying! When we used hot tub it was awesome! Huge! The game room is a nice spacious get away and has a nice sitting area. Vending machines for snacks and sodas. Reasonably priced. Change machine near by. Two very nice playgrounds for kiddos. I would stay here again. Would recommend it. Plenty for kids to do and the indoor pool is a huge bonus for cold or rainy days. We camped at Sturbridge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Hanscom AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp), Bedford, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground. People are pretty quiet. The Air Force base is right beside the campground. After you're here a few hours you don't notice the planes taking off and landing. Plenty of space for your RV. You do have to go through a neighborhood to get to the RV park. No playground or kid things to do. Laundry mat is okay. $1 a load. If you have a bigger load pay the extra .50. Or you'll be like me and rewashing your bed spread. *******Bring quarters. They won't give them to you here. There are chairs scattered all around the office to hang out. No firepit at the campsites but there is a fire pit across from office lights up at 7:00. Screened in area behind office for hanging out. Lots of seating. Microwave and coffee maker. Restrooms and showers look okay. We never used them. Small half basketball court. That's about it for things to do. Really great location for staying if your touring Boston or all the nearby National Park areas. We would stay here again. We camped at Hanscom AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Narrows Too Camping Resort - Thousand Trails, Trenton, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We spent a week at Narrows Too. Next time I'm in the area this will be my park again. Right on the water. Awesome spacious dog park. We had an apple tree at our site. Our dogs loved them. Bigger RV sites. Ours was a pull in site. Quiet campground. There weren't a lot of kids during the week. There is a pool but it was closed for the season. Lots of equipment to play outside. Bad mitten and horse shoes to mention a few. There was in an indoor area with lots of chairs and kitchen from what I could see. Locked the couple times I went by. Maybe seasonal. Showers were three individual rooms (one bigger handicap) Never seen that before. Liked it. I never used them. Huge laundry room. Ladies in office were really friendly. I went in to ask a question and we must have talked half an hour. They gave us lots of suggestions on things to do and places to eat. There is free bus service available. Not sure how it works. We drove our car everywhere. The whole campground is kept up 100%. They even grade the gravel when someone leaves. Hard working employees and it shows. Highly recommend! Crown Point Camping Area, Perkinsville, Vermont

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest parks we've been to. It's a very clean and beautiful park. Lots of trees and plenty of space between sites. There is a pond for swimming, a playground for the kids, and a huge fire pit for group bonfires. A nearby Army Corps of Engineers lake backs to the property with a road from the campground. We had our kayaks but with only two days here didn't have time to get them in the water. The only thing that may be an issue for some people, but definitely isn't for us, is the cemetery near the campground. Lovely campground we will have on our list to return to next time we're in the area. We camped at Crown Point Camping Area in a Motorhome.

Apple Island Resort, South Hero, Vermont

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $83.00
Overall Rating:

Nicest campground we've stayed at so far. One of the more pricey campgrounds we've been to but worth it with the view of the lake. Our site was a pull in site. All employees we met have been super nice. I've even had a couple see me walking an offer me a ride on golf carts. The sites are spacious. Our dogs are right at home. There is a restaurant, store, farmers market, laundry ($1.25 washer/dryer), computer room, lots of books to read, pool, hot tub, rec room, etc. The list just goes on. Everything you could want and more. Highly recommend for groups, family get together. Kinda pricey but I would stay here again. Only thing I wish they had was more trees for shade around the campground. Only one tree in the general camping area. We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Motorhome.

Rondout Valley Resort Thousand Trails, Accord, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Our first impression mud and standing water. Not great way to start when you have dogs. Sites in the normal campground really need some fill dirt and gravel to fix the water puddles and mud here. Bathrooms. OMG. Nasty! I noticed the person signs the sheet everyday that they cleaned them. Not!! There wasn't toilet paper half the time. Toilets were backed up but people keep using them anyway. Trash wasn't emptied for 5 days. Really smells in the restrooms. Using their showers? Bring water shoes. Do not let your bare feet touch the floor! Glad we have our own bathroom in our RV. Laundry room had trash piled up. Needed swept. There is a sitting room next to laundry at entrance. Very dirty. Floors looked like they haven't been vacuumed in months! Only one light works. Lamps are unplugged and have no light bulbs in them. Playground near my side is out of date. Playground by pool very nice. Pool seems nice. I didn't use it. Rec and snack bar area. Not much to it. Unfriendly staff in this area. Staff in front office was nice. Staff or riding around on golf carts were nice. Mini golf has been let go. What a mess! Can't believe they refer to this as a resort. While the seasonal sites look nice and well kept the regular sites need some work to bring them back in shape. I know I'm staying here free. But the Thousand Trails membership wasn't free. Over 3K for the membership that bragged resort type RV parks. Most have been. This one not so much. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Brennan Beach RV Resort, Pulaski, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice campground! With over 1400 sites it got pretty busy on the weekends. RV sites are not huge but plenty of space. They could use some leveling out. There were ruts in our space and we had to use some blocks to get level. Huge park area to walk dogs, play frisbee, or picnic. Lots of people. 1400 sites mostly seasonal and some could use some cleanup around them. It's like a small town. So I guess the noise is to be expected. I've never seen so many golf carts. People don't seem to walk anymore. The lake is beautiful. Would be great for kayaking when the water goes down. They've recently had flooding. They have it all here. Swimming pools, all kinds of social events, etc. Great for families and groups! Both weekends we were there had bands playing in the pavilion. We camped at Brennan Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

One of the nicest parks we have stayed in. Spent a week here. The staff was amazing and very helpful. Beautiful park. Our first two nights were on their hill in a group setting. It only had water and electric hook-ups. Very solid grass pad for parking. We moved to a full hook-up site for the remaining five days of our stay. It's a beautiful campground with lots of extras. The camp spots are larger than some I've stayed at. Two laundry rooms that I have found (maybe more). Huge store with all your camping needs, food, and entertainment and games for the kiddos. Miniature golf and swimming pool. water aerobics. Church on Sundays if you like church. Very large campground. Quite a few annuals live here. They do themes on the weekends. The theme for the weekend we were there was all about kids. Great family friendly campground. We camped at Southwoods RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. We were here for only 4 days since they were booked up on the weekend. Level full hook-up site with a gravel pad.
