Jordan Lake SRA / Crosswinds Campground, Apex, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for four nights. The first thing we noticed was the size of the spaces. They are huge and spaced out. It wasn't supposed to be a waterfront lot, but we could still see the lake through the trees. We really enjoyed our stay. For the first couple nights, there was no one in the spaces on either side of us. It felt like we were all alone in the woods. There are no sewer hookups at the sites, but there are two at the entrance to the campground. There are trails through the woods and a nice beach/swimming area. The Area B camp host was a waste of taxpayer dollars. We went to him with a problem. He mumbled something, got up from his chair, went into his RV, and disappeared, completely ignoring us (and the large dog we found roaming the campground without a leash or owners.) We camped at Jordan Lake SRA / Crosswinds Campground in a Motorhome.

Dumplin Valley RV, Kodak, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for two nights when the festival was not here. Our stay was pleasant, quiet, and comfortable. The owners live on the property and are very nice. As others have stated, this is a country respite from the hustle of Gatlinburg. You won't find the amenities of some other parks. In exchange, you get an inexpensive, simple, slice of rural Tennessee. It's close enough and far enough from the Interstate. We would stay here again, anytime. A few notes to those considering this CG: - If you use Verizon, you will have enough signal to make and receive voice calls, but during our stay Internet using our Mifi Jetpack ranged from slow to non-existent. (YMMV) - We didn't find laundry facilities. Maybe we missed them? - When we arrived, we were asked if we wanted sewer hookups. We said 'yes' and were assigned a site. Later we found out that if we had said 'no', sites with shade were available. Had we known the trade-off, we might have said 'no' to sewer hookups. Keep that in mind when selecting a site. - Also, when selecting a site, we thought that some of the pull-though sites "in the middle" were very close together. If you want more space and are able, I suggest a back-in site "along the edges". When we were checked in, the owner drove us around some of the options for a site. We camped at Dumplin Valley RV in a Motorhome.
