Steinaker State Park Campground, Vernal, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We love this campground. It's small enough not to have a lot of traffic but big enough for some nice walks. When I tried to make a reservation through the Reserve America site, it only listed the sites as being 30 ft. I swapped emails with a very nice person on staff and was assured our big rig would fit. If you go to this web site it gives a map and specifics for each site. http://stateparks.utah.gov/parks/steinaker/maps/campground Lots to see and do here in dinosaur country. We would stay here again. We camped at Steinaker State Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground), Rawlins, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We were only here for an overnight stop but had no complaints. The staff is great. I understand the campground has come under new management, and it's a work in progress, and you can see the effort being made. We stayed at the other campground just down the road several years ago, and although we liked it, would probably choose RV World just because of the staff. We camped at Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) , Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is our second stay at Colter Bay. The staff could not have been nicer. I had requested a specific site and got it. This is a great base to see the Tetons and you don't even have to drive anywhere to have lots to do right there in Colter Village. We would stay here again. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Fishing Bridge Campground (Concessionaire Operated), Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

On a previous trip to Yellowstone we stayed at the North Entrance. What a mistake! Long drives to almost everything. This time we stayed at Fishing Bridge and could have been happier. The sites are close together, but we were not there to spend time in the campground. Being in the middle of the park allowed us to see it all from the best possible location. We would stay here again. We camped at Fishing Bridge Campground (Concessionaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Absaroka Bay RV Park, Cody, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We had planned on staying here for just a week but due to ongoing mechanical issues ended up being here for 2 weeks. The staff could not have been nicer. As previous reviews have said if you are looking for scenic views this is not your place. If you want a great place to base out of when you are in the Cody area you won't find any better. We would not stay anywhere else if we are ever in the area again. We camped at Absaroka Bay RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunrise Campground, Bozeman, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

As previous reviews have stated the sites in this CG are close but this is not a place you would want sit outside to admire the scenery. On one side is I-90 and the other a railroad track. The noise at night between the road traffic and the trains going through would keep us from making this a lengthy stay. We stopped here for only a couple of nights. The owners are great and take pride in making sure the grounds are clean. Beautiful flowers all over. We would stay here again. We camped at Sunrise Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

St. Mary / East Glacier KOA, St Mary, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Difficult to rate this CG. The staff could not have been more helpful. The view from our site was beautiful. Our greatest complaint was the WiFi. As full time RV'ers having internet is almost a necessity. Part of the reason we booked here was because they say they have WiFi. They do, but it is probably the worst we've ever experienced. Even going to the office did not speed it up. Would probably stay here again but make sure we had as much internet business as possible completed before arriving. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Catherine State Park, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this campground several times and always enjoyed it. This last time there seemed to be more Canadian geese than before. We attempted to make sure our dogs did not come in contact with either the geese or their droppings. A few days after we left both dogs got sick. Took almost a month on a RX to get them well. Can not say for sure it was from the geese, but we probably won't camp here again and take that chance. We camped at Lake Catherine State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Damsite - Fall River Lake COE, Fall River, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

There are 2 campgrounds below the dam. We stayed on the east side, and it does have 50 amps and sewer. There is a bridge that crosses the river, and it DOES NOT support big rigs. If you are staying on the east side call the phone number given and get directions since there is no signage. We were in site 21 and had no problem getting our roof top satellite to work, although some sites were pretty shaded. I called recreation.gov to make our reservations and was able to use our Senior Pass and get a discount. Don't think you can do this if you go on-line. We were just passing through and only stayed one night, but we would stay here again. We camped at Damsite - Fall River Lake COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Whispering Hills RV Park, Georgetown, Kentucky

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Not sure there is anything I can add the previous reviewers haven't already said. This is a wonderful campground and the hard work the owners have expended is very evident. Mother nature dealt them a severe blow after their roads were paved but they are working hard to fix them. There is so much to see and do in the area and we hope to go back and would not think of staying anywhere else. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

West Virginia State Fairgrounds, Fairlea, West Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This is a difficult campground to rate. In the Woodall's directory it says it has 200 sites. Perhaps so but most of those are in grass fields and probably only used when there is an event at the fair grounds. I also did not see any restrooms open while we were there. We stayed in the South Lot which has full hookups and 50 amps. There are maybe 25 sites here. It too is grassy w/ pedestals in the back for electric and water. The sewer is in the back a well. We used our macerator in order to reach. We had no complaints. The ladies in the office are great. When you call for a reservation make sure you ask them for directions. The turn into the campground is easy to miss. We loved our stay in Lewisburg. There is so much to see and do and the campground is an ideal location from which to explore this beautiful part of West Virginia. We camped at West Virginia State Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Fairfax Park, Reston, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park is also listed in Fairfax. Reston is the actual address but it is in Fairfax County. We stayed here to be near family and it was very convenient. The rate is high considering you only have electric. We have no complaints about our stay. Park staff was friendly and campsite was clean and neat. Will stay here again when we come back to visit family. We camped at Lake Fairfax Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We really enjoyed this park. We are Thousand Trails members and this is one of the nicest campgrounds we've been to in the system. Would stay here again if we're ever in the area. We camped at Outdoor World / Gettysburg Farm Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lane's Cottages, Montague, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

If there were a higher rating than an 10 I would have given it. As the previous review stated this is truly a gem. The Montague Harbor is within view and a branch of the Confederate Trail is 50 yards away. It is centrally located so you can drive less than 100 miles and see the entire eastern shoreline of Prince Edward Island. We've been traveling Atlantic Canada all summer and this is the nicest place we've stayed. If only it weren't so far from Texas. We camped at Lane's Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground, Baddeck, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Like other reviewers we stayed here while we explored the Cabot Trail. What makes this such a great place to stay is the family that owns the campground. From having a restaurant with great food to keeping the grounds well maintained they try to make sure all of their guests have a good stay. Wi-Fi is exceptional- one of the best we've used. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
