Grand Codroy RV-tent Camping Park, Doyles, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

What makes this such a wonderful place to stay is the folks that run the campground. When I e-mailed about making a reservation I got not only a reply verifying the dates but also an offer to give us recommendations for "must dos" while in Newfoundland. We stayed here after coming in on the ferry and again before we left. Our only complaint was the black flies. Probably the worst we encountered, but this was not something management can control. We would stay here again. We camped at Grand Codroy RV-tent Camping Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for over a week while exploring Gros Morne and could not have found a nicer campground. Management was great, and all the services worked well. Only complaint was the dust from the roads. We would stay here again. We camped at Gros Morne / Norris Point KOA in a Motorhome.

Kona Beach Park, South Brook, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here for one night on our way west on TCH. Had called and made a reservation and told there were no sites left on the lake. When we got there the lady in the office had seen where there was a cancellation and had moved us to a lake front site. It was tight to get into, but the view was great. Lots of seasonals and weekend families but the park was well run and clean. We would stay here again. We camped at Kona Beach Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Viking RV Park, Quirpon, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Rated this park a 7 because of the electric. Although it was supposed to be 30 amps it was not. We have an EMS system on our rig and it was constantly cutting the power due to low voltage. We knew the water was not treated before we came so had a full freshwater tank and just used it. In spite of these problems we loved it here. Management was great and showed a wonderful example of Newfoundland hospitality. Without a doubt would stay here again. We camped at Viking RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here since it was centrally located to see the Kittiwake coast. Management is great. Wi-Fi was very sporadic and not dependable. Several seasonals in the park but clean and well kept. We would stay here again. We camped at Country Inn Motel & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Gateway to the North RV Park, Deer Lake, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here for the night on our way east toward St John's. The rate is w/ Camp Club USA. We only saw one person taking care of the park and she was overwhelmed. No one at the front when we came in and there were very poor instructions as to where to park. Road noise was very bad. Would only stay here again if necessary for an overnight stop. We camped at Gateway to the North RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Headquarters Campground (Parks Canada), Fundy National Park, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful National Park. We were in one of the 10 full service sites. During the busy summer season these fill up fast so reservations are a must. So much to see and do in the area. Alma is just down the road. Could spend the day there talking to the locals and enjoying the good food and watching the tides change. If we are fortunate enough to come back to New Brunswick we would certainly stop here again. We camped at Headquarters Campground (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.

Rockwood Park, Saint John, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Yes- it is essentially a gravel parking lot but where else can you find a campground almost in the middle of a city surrounded by a beautiful park? Rockwood Park has numerous hiking trails, an excellent restaurant in the park, and you are close enough to downtown to enjoy all there is in Saint John. The campground hosts were great and we would stay here again if we are ever fortunate enough to come back to New Brunswick. I gave it an 8 only because the utilities are in difficult places. We camped at Rockwood Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hilltop Campground, Robbinston, Maine

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here on our way into Canada. The owners are great- friendly and helpful. This appears to be mostly a park for permanent rigs. They have a few sites for folks like us passing through. It's location allowed us to see some of that part of Maine and be close enough to Calais to get over the border without driving very far. We would stay here again. We camped at Hilltop Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We really enjoyed our stay here at Oceanfront Camping. The view is fantastic and not too many places you can watch the tides ebb and flow from you rig. You can walk into town to shop, eat and enjoy the history of St Andrews. We would come back again. We camped at Kiwanis Oceanfront Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

River Beach Campground, Milford, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here just for the night on the way to Maine. Would not stay here any length of time. It's next to the interstate with lots of truck noise. Appears to be many long term residents. Roads are dirt and we were there when it had rained. Very muddy. Would only stay here again if necessary. Not many choices between Scranton and into New York for big rigs. We camped at River Beach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA, Broadway, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We had planned to just overnight but ended up being there 6 nights due to a breakdown with our truck. If I could have given more than a 10 I would have. The owners and staff could not have been more accommodating. Even went so far as to take my husband into Harrisonburg to pick up our truck. Without a doubt would stay here again. We camped at Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great place to stop when you're traveling I-70 across western Kansas. We stayed here last year and found it as nice and convenient as before. Full service truck stop across the road w/ easy access and restaurant next door. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at High Plains Camping in a Fifth Wheel.
