Fallon RV Park, Fallon, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We needed a campground to overnight before heading east across Nevada. When I made our reservations on line, there was a problem. I emailed to report I had not gotten a confirmation and received a very sincere apology. When we arrived, everyone in the office apologized again for the mixup. They could not have been nicer or more helpful. We were just here one night and probably would not choose it for any longer. It is next to US 50 and the highway noise could be a problem. For a one night stopover we would stay here again. We camped at Fallon RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort), Coleville, California

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful campground and the owners have put a lot of time and money into it. We would have given it a 10 except for the road noise. It was constant and nothing between the highway and our site to block it. The owners should consider putting up either a fence or high shrubs. We would stay here again but ask for a back in site on the other side of the bathhouse and laundry. We camped at Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Happy Time RV Park, Dunnigan, California

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

As the previous review stated, this park is great for an overnight stopover. There is very little to choose from going south on I-5. The lady in the office was very friendly and helpful. We had a pull through and although there appeared to be several long term residents, they were not near our area. We would stay here again. We camped at Happy Time RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Emerald Forest Cabins & RV, Trinidad, California

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this campground. We were traveling with friends and owners went out of their way to make sure we were camped next to each other. A perfect place to stay and see the redwoods. We would stay here again. We camped at Emerald Forest Cabins & RV in a Fifth Wheel.

The Waterfront at Potlatch, Potlatch, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

No doubt this is a beautiful place with the Hood Canal right out your door. Our only complaint is how close our site was to the next one. When they put their awning out it was touching our slide. Each site is different so not all were like ours. We would love to stay here again but would make sure we had a different site. We camped at The Waterfront at Potlatch in a Fifth Wheel.

Gilgal Oasis RV Park, Sequim, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here to be able see the northern side of the Olympic Peninsula. As previously stated the sites are pretty close together but that was not a problem. The hosts are great and the park could not be any cleaner. Even though the park is right off the main street in Sequim the owners used landscaping to block so you don't feel "downtown" at all. We would stay here again if we ever come back to the area. We camped at Gilgal Oasis RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Thousand Trails - La Conner, La Conner, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

I concur w/ the previous reviews. This is a typical Thousand Trials park. We were very lucky in that we got a premium site w/ sewer and a place for our satellite. There are not many in the park and we understand during the busy season they have a sign up list for these sites. If you intend to drive up and find a good site, it probably won't happen between now and after Labor Day. We would only stay here again because it doesn't cost us anything. We camped at Thousand Trails - La Conner in a Fifth Wheel.

Leavenworth RV Campground - Thousand Trails, Leavenworth, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

If all Thousand Trails were like this one, we would have no reason to complain. We felt like we were staying in a National Forest. Like most of the Thousand Trail preserves this one has been around for some time but it appears to have been maintained better than others we've been in. As a previous reviewer noted the name is misleading. The town of Leavenworth is at least 20 miles away but there is much to see and do even if you don't get to town. We would love to come back here. We camped at Leavenworth RV Campground - Thousand Trails in a Fifth Wheel.

Glacier Peak Resort and Winery (formerly Skagit River Resort), Rockport, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here because it was close to the National Park. I guess the best way to describe this park is to say it is rustic. It appears not to have been maintained over the years. There are two camping areas. In the forested area, the sites were very muddy and dark. The sunny sites had grass and when the sun was out they got some light. Besides the camping area there are lots of "cabins" which have been here for a while. The folks that run the campground could not have been nicer but we would not stay here again. We camped at Glacier Peak Resort and Winery (formerly Skagit River Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Thousand Trails - Crescent Bar, Quincy, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here using our Thousand Trails membership. This was our first experience in a former Leisure Time Resort and were sadly disappointed. It appears that the powers that be at ESL have let an absolutely fantastic park become as run down as many of the other TT preserves. This place is in an incredible location with spectacular views but the roads are typical TT and sites are close together and uneven. Wi-Fi is there by very poor. We understand previous management let things get bad and we must say in the time we were there the new manager seems to be attempting to make things better. Only reason we would stay here again would because it's free with our TT membership. We camped at Thousand Trails - Crescent Bar in a Fifth Wheel.

Canyon Pines RV Resort, Riggins, Idaho

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay at Canyon Pines. The couple that run the campground could not have been nicer. We had a site that backed up to the river and it was perfect. Lots to see and do in the area and this campground is centrally located. We camped at Canyon Pines RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Devil's Canyon - USFS, Monticello, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is a National Forest CG so there are no hookups. Vault toilets and water are in several locations through out the campground. This is a wonderful location to stay if you want to see this part of Utah. Canyonlands Needles District is less than an hour away. Natural Bridges National Monument is close enough for a day trip and Moab a little over an hour to the north. Very quiet with beautiful views of the the Abajo Mountains and lots of places to hike and go four wheeling. We would stay here again. We camped at Devil's Canyon - USFS in a Fifth Wheel.

Elephant Butte Lake State Park, Lions Beach Campground, Elephant Butte, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in Monticello South but getting to it after checking in at the Visitors Center in Elephant Butte was a real challenge. The map they gave us was not to scale, there was no inset w/ the Monticello South campground and the road we had to take was not labeled correctly. When we turned down the road that had a sign for the campground the actual turn into the camping area was very poorly marked. Once we found our site and got settled we loved where we were. It appears they are in the process of developing this area but it would be a great help if they could hand out current maps and give better directions. Now that we know where we're going we would stay here again. We camped at Elephant Butte Lake State Park, Lions Beach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We were here just for an overnight stay and could not have been more pleased. The management was great. When asked about directions to our next stop they went out of their way to make sure we understood and thanks to them we cut over 50 miles from our trip. We would stay here again, We camped at USA RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Marina Bay RV Resort, Kemah, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2009 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean and well run park. As previously stated the pull throughs are pretty close together. It's location is perfect for trips either to Galveston, the Space Center, or into Houston. We would stay here again. We camped at Marina Bay RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
