Camper's Haven RV and Tent Park, Donald, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed our stay here. The park has nice long pull-throughs, but they are a bit close if the park were full. We were here at a slow time so had lots of open space, but if busy you will be pretty close to your neighbor. The tent area, and the park in general, is beautiful. We had to change spaces to be able to get satellite as some of the sites with have trees blockage. The full hookups are good. The roads are good dirt, the actual slots are grass. We had quite a bit of rain, but the roads were good. This is a great place to be to visit Glacier National Park, Golden, The Ice Roads Parkway. There are a number of other things to do in the area also. We camped at Camper's Haven RV and Tent Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Glacier National Park, Golden Kickinghorse Resort gondola ride, Northern Lights Wolf refuge, Ice Roads Parkway, Baniff (bit of a drive). Also check out the log cabin manufacturing place just outside the park - the people there are very friendly and gave us an interesting tour of how to build a log cabin.

Crazy Creek Resort, Malakwa, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Interesting place. The good is that the sites are pretty good and is a beautiful location. This used to be a fish hatchery and the old facilities are still there around the campsite. The Google satellite pictures made it look like it was quite open, but it clearly has had a lot of trees planted recently. They have clearly put a lot of effort to upgrade the campground. We had good satellite reception, no local broadcast TV. The WIFI was good. There a 30A receptacle only, no on-site sewer. The dump station is a bit further down Highway 1. The people are very nice, but it is a bit annoying to have to pay extra for the hot pools and more to be able to hike up to the falls. The hot pools are very nice, and the falls are very beautiful. We had a great conversation with the lady running the gift shop at the suspension bridge. The bad news is that on one side is the TransCanada Highway, on the other a very active railroad track. The noise from both is sure to interrupt sleep. After the first night I used earplugs and was able to sleep better. The campground is near the Taft road crossing, so the trains all use their horn at the crossing which is just a few hundred yards from the campsite. While we really liked the location, we would probably not go back again. We camped at Crazy Creek Resort in a Motorhome.

Logan Lake Municipal Campground, Logan Lake, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is such a gem of a campground. It is a municipal campground operated by Logan Lake, a community founded for the nearby copper mine. The campground is at the end of the lake away from the town. It has multiple tiers, with some right next to the lake, others higher up with views of the lake. There are no on-site sewer connections and the municipal (free) dump station is a few miles down the road. Everything about the camp and town are very clean. Lots of people fishing on the lake. There is a very nice trail around the lake. The only negative would be that there is not a whole lot to do once you look over the giant dump truck and the copper mine (from a distance). We lucked out to be there on the weekend the Lions club had a BBQ which was very nice. The campground is very quiet and beautiful. Can't wait until we can go back there for another visit. We camped at Logan Lake Municipal Campground in a Motorhome.

McCall Campground and RV Park, McCall, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very weird stop. We never saw a single staff person the whole time. We were the only campers in the park, although there was a few obviously long-term units. The sign on the office finally showed open the last day, but we did not go in since we had prepaid before arrival. The campsites are fairly short, we barely had room for our 36' unit. No sewer connection, and the dump station is in an incredibly inconvenient location on a hill next to the office building. We did not even use it because I did not want to try to maneuver the motorhome into the correct position. There was a sign at the entrance advertising the park is for sale. The park was pretty decent besides these features. We camped at McCall Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Had a nice meal at the pancake house/Christmas shop. Great to look around the Christmas Shop - amazing place. Visited the fish hatchery but it was too early in the season and the fish were tiny.

Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA , Arco, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This was an unexpected jewel of a spot. The new owners were wonderful, helpful, and friendly. The park is all gravel, but in good shape. We were there right after snow melt while they were still getting the park ship-shape, but it was extremely pleasant. There are the best waffles ever in the morning! There is not a whole lot to do in Arco, but very educational. Craters of the Moon is very worth a visit and great hiking/exercise. Alas, EBR-1 was not open while we were there, but looking at the atomic jet engines was interesting. The best thing by far is the museum located in the little metal building next to the submarine exhibit. If you hang around a bit, a staff member will come over to open the building and explain all the exhibits. He worked many years in the nuclear industry at Idaho National Labs down the road, and you can spend hours listening to his stories and learning about the industry. There is an unbelievable amount of stuff in that building, and he is a treasure that should be enjoyed. And check out all those graduation years written on the mountain! We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Motorhome.

Pony Express RV Resort, North Salt Lake, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. The space was a pull through long enough for both the motorhome and tow vehicle. All paved with concrete sites, surrounded by grass. Good power, but the sewer connection was located way in the back of the slot. I had to reposition the unit to the back of the space because I did not have enough hose otherwise. There is a great walking/biking path along the Jordan river right next to the park. The mountain views were great. Did I mention the wonderful cookie at check-in? Worth the price of admission right there. Plenty of things to do in Salt Lake City. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Motorhome.

McArthur's Temple View RV Resort, St George, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. Most of the sites are backin, with space on the side for the tow vehicle. The full hookups are in a good place, no problems with the power. Paved roads, gravel sites. The staff was very friendly and helpful when was had questions. There are lots of historical things to see in town related to the pioneer heritage and LDS church. Snow Canyon was a very nice visit and great hiking. Alas, the Grand Canyon was not open yet while we were there, but a number of other parks are within easy driving distance. I would recommend this as a very nice spot to stay while in St George. Lots of cute shops and grocery. We camped at McArthur's Temple View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

La Conner RV & Camping Resort, La Conner, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice park, but it is a Thousand Trails park. This means that the facilities will be older, and the sites are not reserved meaning when you get there you have to drive around trying to find an open spot. We had the misfortune of arriving on Memorial Day weekend, and it was quite a challenge to find a spot. It was like a race to the spot we ended up with with another couple. Most of the park is NOT satellite friendly as the park is heavily forested, which makes it very beautiful. Also no OTA TV. Due to the holiday it was very full with many kids. While it made it very noisy, it also means that they were having a buffet breakfast at the club house, a nice BBQ lunch grill, and other activities. The site is 30A and water only. There is honey wagon service for a fee. A word of warning about power quality: our power protection kicked out several times due to over and under voltage. I would say it is mandatory to have power protection to protect your electronics and unit systems. The location is gorgeous, located right on the bay. There is plenty to do in the area and we had a very nice stay. We camped at La Conner RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tall Chief RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails, Fall City, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice park, but it is a Thousand Trails park. This means that the facilities will be older, and the sites are not reserved meaning when you get there you have to drive around trying to find an open spot. It was close to Memorial day, but we lucked out in finding a pretty nice spot. It is a serious challenge getting satellite as the park is heavily forested, which makes it very beautiful - much like camping in the forest. We had lots of opportunities to walk around and it was beautiful. The site is 30A and water only. There are a lot of long term campers hauling there portable tanks to the dump station, and I saw a couple of very disgusting displays of poor sanitation of people emptying those tanks. A word of warning about power quality: our power protection kicked out several times due to over and under voltage. I would say it is mandatory to have power protection to protect your electronics and unit systems. It was a nice stay, but a challenge due to the power and sewer issues. We camped at Tall Chief RV & Camping Resort - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Blackwell Island RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful, the grounds were very clean and well maintained. Note that the pull-throughs are of different lengths. The one we were in was barely big enough for our 36' motorhome, but there are others that are very long. The park is right on the Spokane river with a private beach. Good satellite reception and just a very nice place to stay. We camped at Blackwell Island RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Buck knife factory was very interesting. Falls Park was beautiful. The 7 Stars alpaca farm was fun and got a chance to learn a lot about the woolly critters. We had a very nice dinner at the Cedars floating restaurant just down the road. We were amazed to find that the Costco is one of few selling diesel, which was very handy for filling up the rig. We found the 7 Stars alpaca farm was a great time.

Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was amazing! We were having technical issues when we arrived and they really stepped right up to help us out. The pull through was a good length, but note these are side-by-side slots so you are within 4 feet of your neighbor. The park was clean, the dog park was great. This is mostly gravel sites with full hookups. The location is good with shopping nearby and it is off the Las Vegas strip, but close enough to go downtown if desired. The park is at Sams Town which is an older hotel, but nice with a theatre. Would recommend this for a place to stay for a short while. We camped at Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town in a Motorhome.
