Point South / I-95 / Yemassee KOA, Yemassee, South Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $82.00
Overall Rating:

Site was level, but the area due to the massive rains they had recently was a little water logged. For some reason, the sewer connection was at the front of the site and the water and electric at the back. This caused me to have to pull forward into the road at the end of our stay to dump the tanks. Our particular site had a raised deck with picnic table and fire pit as well as a large gas grill. Nice camp store and small pizza shop and bar in the store. Campground also has curbside trash pickup in the mornings. The only detraction was a couple of long term sites in the grounds that could use some tidying up. We'll definitely use this campground again. We camped at Point South / I-95 / Yemassee KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Riveredge RV Park & Log Cabin Rentals, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

Fairly level site, but the roads are narrow and the sites very close together. Most people have to park parallel to the road after unhooking, making it very hard to back into your site without asking folks to move their vehicles for a few minutes. The "river" mentioned is more of a creek and not at all scenic. The park was clean overall and had a nice pool area. Restrooms and showers were in the middle of the park. Small gift shop and camp store in the office. We camped at Riveredge RV Park & Log Cabin Rentals in a Travel Trailer.

Benton KOA, Benton, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Nice site, within a mile of shopping, gas, and restaurants. Friendly staff. Pet friendly. The park is split by the main road and we stayed in the part that has the pond (left side coming in). The sites were spacious and clean as were the grounds. I really liked the landscaping around the pond and how the sites on that side were organized. We camped at Benton KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Victorian Acres Campground, Nebraska City, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The park is split by the main road and we stayed in the part that has the pond (left side coming in). The sites were spacious and clean as were the grounds. The staff was super helpful, especially as we needed advice for alternate routes due to I-29 being closed. I really liked the landscaping around the pond and how the sites on that side were organized. We camped at Victorian Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Mount Rushmore KOA at Palmer Gulch, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

The big thing this park has going for it is the closeness to Mt. Rushmore, Keystone, Hill City and Custer State Park. Sites were level, but fairly close together and on the short side. There is a 10.00 daily resort fee added to the site cost - this would have been OK I guess if the pools had actually been open (our stay was after Memorial Day). The gift shop and store are nice and the gift shop prices are comparable to the other gift shops in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful. There's an wine bar, pizza place and ice cream shop at the front of the grounds, unfortunately the smell from the adjacent horse stable ruins the ambiance of these places. The laundry is also at the front of the campground and is both expensive (about twice the normal amount we pay) and the machines to do not clean or dry well at all. Given the cost versus the facilities drives the overall rating down for me. We camped at Mount Rushmore KOA at Palmer Gulch in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is no food or general merchandise shopping in either Hill City or Keystone, and Rapid City is an hour away each way, so stock up on groceries before going. Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Custer State Park are all close by, but Badlands National Park is a good 90 minute drive one way.

Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA, Devils Tower, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean campground with onsite gift shop and restaurant. Nice size lots. We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was fine. You can get a great view of Devil's Tower right from the campground. Unfortunately there are sodium lights in use at night in the park, so that ruins any chance of nighttime photography without driving off site. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) , Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

For a plain full hookup site it's on the expensive side, but since it's in Grand Teton National Park it is worth it. There's an extensive gift shop and store at the campground, but prices are a bit higher than a normal grocery as you might expect. The bar at the campground was great, but I was not impressed with the full service restaurant. The sites were not level in any dimension and I had to use every leveler block I had, fortunately I had brought more than I usually use so I had just enough. Pet friendly and plenty of places to walk the dogs. Bring extra leveling blocks! We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Springville / Provo KOA, Springville, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Level sites, but they are closer together than I like and just barely long enough for our rig. Nice small camp store on site. The facilities were clean and in good condition - we especially appreciated that the laundry was inexpensive and the machines worked well. We camped at Springville / Provo KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA, Silt, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Campground was clean with level sites. We had a waterfront spot and it was terrific. If the weather had been better we could have kayaked right from our site. Nice camp store and the staff were friendly and helpful. About 50-ish miles from Grand Mesa and Colorado National Monument. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Chapman Creek RV Park, Chapman, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Park and facilities were super clean - one of the cleanest restrooms I've seen. Pet walk area is conveniently located near the sites. The campground is on a hill so you will need leveling blocks, especially front to back, I had to unhook in order to level due to the sloping. There's really no shade here but it wasn't an issue in May. We stayed on a Sunday night, so there wasn't much in the small town that was open. We camped at Chapman Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Whittington Woods Campground, Whittington, Illinois

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Overall a nice campground. When we visited in late May it was very wet. Site was level and the campground is mostly forested. Pet friendly. There is nothing within walking distance of the campground, so if you don't want to unhook would advise shopping before setting up. We camped at Whittington Woods Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Rossville, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one night. Nice sites which was level side to side, but did require blocking at the front of the trailer. Pet friendly! Nice small store in front with a bit of historical information about the actual site of the campground. Dollar General across the street, gas and food options down the street. Would definitely stay here for exploring the Chattanooga area. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Travel Trailer.
