WillowWind RV Park, Hurricane, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

WillowWind is a nicely shaded but dense park. Some of the older spaces are more spacious, we were in a newer section where your neighbor is right out your door. The older sections have tons of shade, our tree was a few years old so it only provided partial shade from the hot Utah sun. The spaces are concrete and tight, but we could fit our chairs on the grass in between us and the next rv (and their hookups). There is no picnic table so eating outside has to be done on a self provided table next to your vehicle. Lots of air TV channels and good Verizon and wifi. There is no dog run or dog park, though there is a path along a creek that they call a dog run/park on their map. We did, however, find an excellent dog park just a few miles away, fyi. We would stay at WillowWind again, but now that we know the layout, we would ask for an older site where we would have room to spread out a little. We camped at WillowWind RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Ely KOA, Ely, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed on our way from Tahoe to Utah...we did two nights so that we could explore Ely and the train museum. We had a nice pull through site. Neighbors not too close, hookups easy enough, site level. Some of the sites have beautiful views across the valley, most of those seem to be reserved for long term tenants, which there was a fair number of. Those sites were tidy for the most part. Office staff was pleasant and helpful. We would stay again when passing through Ely. We camped at Ely KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Ely is an older town, lots of closed businesses in the downtown area. We primarily did the train museum and the Renaissance village; we were able to do both in one day, both were interesting. It looked like there are a lot of off road trails, would love to come back sometime with our Razr to explore.

Point of Rocks RV Campground, Prescott, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The rock formations throughout make this the most unique park we have ever stayed in. The spaces are roomy and private, with trees/shrubs in between them. The site was level and the hookups convenient, with a picnic table. There is a nice hiking trail down to Watson Lake. Though you can hear traffic noise off in the distance, our site was peaceful. Like that there aren't a lot of lights in the park to dim the night sky. We will definitely stay here again when passing through Prescott. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We enjoyed visiting historic Prescott...the Palace for a drink and appetizers, Prescott brewery for dinner. The Sharlot Hall museum was phenomenal! For necessities, there is a Costco, Trader Joe's, Walmart and a mall in Prescott Valley, about 15 minutes from the RV park. Husband golfed Antelope Hills, nothing special but they did allow our dog to ride along in the cart as he does at home, so that was a plus for us. Prescott is a nice town, we will be back.
