St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA, Eureka, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We decided to stay around the Six Flags area because the grandkids were going to visit. We originally booked the weekend at a park across the street but immediately canceled and I'm sure glad we did. We really enjoyed our stay here. The campground was so peaceful. We were in site A40 which was next to the tent campers. Very nice campground. It was very clean. If you are a tent camper they have some great spots to tent camp and fully shaded. Bathrooms were well air-conditioned. Yes, only 1 stall in the men's, and 2 showers. The showers had extremely hot water. They were very nice. The train reviews are unjust. I heard a few trains throughout the weekend, but it wasn't overbearing. And they only lasted no more than a minute. Maybe where our site was located it wasn't that bad. Camp store was nice. Staff was very friendly. As with all camp stores, they could have stocked it more with groceries. (Haven't experienced a well stocked camp store yet). We had a big patio on our site which was really really nice. Best patio we have had at a campsite ever. I just really liked this campground. Very shaded, pleasant, and for some reason was very relaxing for the weekend. The did have cable TV and WIFI. Sites near tent campers were quiet and spacious. Highly recommend! We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Lake Hickory RV Resort, Conover, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We needed a place to stay overnight on our way to Tennessee. The staff was great to get us a place to stay last minute. There are not many campsites available. It was 98% seasonal. The seasonal sites were extremely tight. The lake was beautiful. Don't even think of going to the showers you won't like it. I took a shower there and was expecting hot water at least. The hot water lasted 2 minutes. But the staff warned us the showers were, uh, lets say dirty. And they were. it scared the grand kids. lol This campground is off the highway about 10-12 miles and sits in a beautiful part of the country. The place can handle big rigs. The price was cheap like $40 or something a night which was good. We just needed a place to stay the night. I would not stay any longer than that personally. But the staff was wonderful, and in some odd way liked our stay. We camped at Lake Hickory RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Anchor Down RV Resort, Dandridge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

I'd give it 50 stars. This is flat out the best campground I've ever been too. I want to go back for a week long vacation. Our site with the fireplace was incredible. We could burn a fire even when it was raining. Pool was fantastic. The kids loved the slide. The slides and water inflatables in the lake were extremely fun. The sand at the beach looked like it was brought from Destin, as the sand was pure white. They had trash pickup was was great. We rented a golf cart at $30 a day, what a great value. And all rental golf carts and nice cool rims and tires on them. What a nice touch. It's the little things this owner does that makes this one of the best campgrounds in the country. Dog park had turf which was way cool. The owner is an extremely hard worker. We say him multiple times cleaning sites and working doing what everybody does. You wouldn't know he is the owner. I can't say enough how manicured everything is. The cleanest campground I've ever seen. The owner has put and keeps putting money in his campground and it shows. Great business man! The showers and bathrooms were like a 5-star hotel. Oh my, the showers were incredible. All tiles and extremely nice. Best bathrooms I've seen at a campground. This is my all time favorite campground. Stay there one time and you'll see what I mean. We camped at Anchor Down RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pride RV Resort, Waynesville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

We recently went to the Outer Banks for vacation. We stopped at Pride RV Resort on our way back. This was the 2nd time we stayed at Pride RV. If your looking for a peaceful getaway this is it. The best spots are in Section G along the creek. The creek is so peaceful to sit at your campsite and listen. So relaxing. However, there are no fire pits at the individual sites, only fire pits along the creek. Showers are very nice and hot. The laundry room was very nice. They have a small campsite and food service that was good. Breakfast seemed to be very popular there. We played putt-putt golf and that was fun. Some of the campsites I did notice in the middle were not level at all. I would suggest asking for a level site if required when making reservations. Overall, this is a great campground and I'm sure we will be back. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cape Hatteras KOA, Rodanthe, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $125.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed almost a week at this KOA. Had a great time and the weather was fantastic. It did get windy the last few days there. We had briars or something in the grass at our site and could not go bare foot in the grass at our site. It was weird because up near the pool they were not there. The Cafe there was fantastic. Great service and great food. Highly recommend eating there. Staff was great all week, and very helpful and friendly. Ice was only $2 a bag and the bags were pretty good size. Restrooms were great, plenty of hot water and clean. Air conditioning worked great in the shower and restroom areas. Pool was incredible. Very large and you could hang out and watch the kids swim comfortably. The only thing I would change is I was very disappointed with the office store. The selection of groceries was bad. I wanted a big bag of chips and they just had single individual size. I would make more of the office groceries and less trinkets. Especially since there is not a grocery store nearby. They did have beer and wine, but of course no beer I liked to drink. But very disappointed with the store groceries there. They had no cases of water, or even 12 packs of water. They only sold liters of water. I thought that was crazy you couldn't go there and by a case of water, or at least a 12 pack of water. I was expecting better. But a great place to camp. Can't get any better when you can walk to the beach from your campsite. We will be back, and of course we'll bring more water! :) We camped at Cape Hatteras KOA in a Motorhome.

Wytheville KOA, Wytheville, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped by this KOA for one night on our way to the Outer Banks. Very nice KOA. Very large pull through sites. Nice pool with slides. Very good camp store. We bowled that night which was very fun. We also ate pizza there which was ok. The girls got ice cream as well. Showers were just ok. They were not that hot even though one of the staff said it was like the showers at home. That it was not. This KOA was very nice and I highly recommend visiting. We were pleased with everything. We camped at Wytheville KOA in a Motorhome.
