Van Mall RV Park, Vancouver, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This shouldn't be called a park, unless it's short for parking lot. There are a few wide spots with a patch of grass; be sure to ask for those when you call as we weren't offered that. The sites are right on top of each other. When you open the RV door you're treated with a view of the neighbor's sewer hook-up just a few feet away and the accompanying smell. On the plus side all the live-ins are quiet and the nearby freeway is actually not noisy at all. We camped at Van Mall RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Whistler RV Park and Campground, Whistler, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This is a destination spot for sure. We loved everything about it. The location, the views, the staff. Older reviews talked about the messy sites of the live-ins. This was corrected before we arrived. Their sites were all well kept and those with a lot of stuff had sheds. I couldn't wait for the sun to come up every morning. Just spectacular. The other campers we met were all enjoying their stay as well. Some lived nearby and some from traveling from Europe and even the Caribbean. We camped at Whistler RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Whistler is a pleasant, easy drive for day trips. If you take the peak-to-peak gondola bring hiking shoes. We didn't and missed some fantastic mountain top trails.

Mount Vernon RV Campground, Bow, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This is a big place. The campers are quiet. The facilities very well kept with a large grass area for playing games. I liked the arrangement of campsites. We found a well-treed site offering nice privacy. The sites furthest from the highway were all taken. There's no way you can see the road, but it sure sounded close. There's very few sites with sewer hookup so don't expect to get one. I'd stay again as a travel thru site. We camped at Mount Vernon RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Here's the best part and a reason I'd return: Rhody Restaurant. It's about 10 minutes off the highway in the super small town of Bow (a few houses and a number of farms). I kid you not when I say it's the best food I've ever had and I've eaten around the world. I had grilled salmon with a creamy tequila-lime sauce over polenta. The vegetables are from their own garden and the creme brulee with candied ginger was made to perfection. Yes it is expensive, but for good reason.

Mt. Lassen / Shingletown KOA, Shingletown, California

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

What a great campground. Well run, clean, friendly, wooded, everything I love. Half the park is dedicated to an activity area. There's a walking path, bird feeders, bike jumps for the kids, etc. It all made for a nice stay. We were in a site next to the woods. So we set the outdoor chairs there and enjoyed the afternoons. Being a close drive to Lassen, we'll be back for a much longer stay! We camped at Mt. Lassen / Shingletown KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Lake of the Springs RV Resort, Oregon House, California

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

It's a great family park. The sections near the lake were all full of families. There were kids everywhere having a great time - love it. Away from the lake is pretty hilly and quite a variety of sites. Still, it's easy to get around with a trailer. It's more quiet up there. There was a band that night playing the blues in the tennis courts; they were pretty good too. The beach is small and parking is really tight. I won't try and drive my truck down there a second time. As retirees we won't do any extended stays there, but I'd go again as an easy overnighter. We camped at Lake of the Springs RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
