Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

The grounds of this campground are beautiful! Large spacious sites for a private RV park. Amenities like pool, playground, and laundry very nice. Some highway noise in main camp but nothing that keeps you up at night. Next time would stay in line camp or lower ranch camp. Great central location for everything the black hills has to offer. 109 mile Mickelson gravel bike path right outside the campground. We camped at Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA, Devils Tower, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $76.00
Overall Rating:

We were at campsite 69. Back in FHU 50amp...worth it! Stared right across at devil's tower with no one obstructing our view. A little pricey but what can you say when the park entrance is a couple hundred feet down the row. Love the post office right at the campsite! Playground was wonderful. Good park! We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch, Big Timber, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Good place for overnight stop. Book early though as this campground fills up with ppl looking for overnight stop in the Bozeman area. Would only suggest sites 16-20 on the river as they have space and grass. Sites 1-14 are tightly packed and gravel only. River sites do not have sewer but good dump station on the way out. WiFi is poor...we just ended up hot spotting our Verizon service and got better speeds. You must check in by 7pm. We got a call at 5p checking on our arrival time. Can only fish when camp office is open so hours are a little restrictive. We were hoping to fish after we got set up in evening, but we're unable. See fishing rules picture I posted. No catch and release. You must keep and pay by the pound for fish. We camped at Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch in a Travel Trailer.

West Glacier RV Park and Cabins, West Glacier, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $77.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is great. It's new as of summer of 2019. For a private RV park the sites are spacious...we stayed on an end site with even more room. All large pull through sites with full hookups. There is a bike path that goes into the village of West Glacier which is all owned by the same company the RV park is and has all amenities minus diesel fuel and major groceries. West glacier village via path - .3 of a mile Glacier NP Apgar entrance - 1/2 a mile The best part about staying at this park. You are so close to the entrance of the park you can come and go in the park as you please. Cons - no shade but will get better as trees that were planted grow. Also close to train tracks... however the trains never woke us up at night. We camped at West Glacier RV Park and Cabins in a Travel Trailer.

Butte KOA, Butte, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Right off the freeway. Noise isn't too bad. First site they gave us we drove to but didn't fit due to powerline. So gave us another wide open pull through in a new area site 512. We camped at Butte KOA in a Travel Trailer.

There is the Butte Greenway path right behind the campground. Can run and bike 1.5 miles to a park for kids. Next to visitor center.

Medora Campground, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

1/2 mile from the entrance to Theodore Roosevelt National Park south unit. Bike path into town. Right on the Little Missouri River. Good playground. You don't get to pick your site and they are tight but that was expected at a busy National Park where we spent most of our time away from the campground. The con was that since the sites were so close you had the sewer hookup smell from the site next to you right outside your door. Definitely the nicer of the two campgrounds in town. Would recommend if you are visiting the park. However if you are okay with no electric hookups I would stay at the state park just south of town. We camped at Medora Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Oak Park Kampground, Garfield, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access off I-94. Staff is very friendly, dog friendly (they get treats!), Very kid friendly. We were there on a Saturday. Called last minute and they had a spot. They had weekend kid events, great playground, pool, paddle boats and an evening tractor ride. Lots of supplies at the camp store. Spots are shaded and are have more room than other private RV parks. We camped at Oak Park Kampground in a Travel Trailer.
