Shore Hills Campground and RV Park, Boothbay, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Great campground, lots of trees, sites are very large, staff friendly and responsive. They offer a shuttle into Boothbay Harbor during the day, which is great because parking can be a challenge. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We took our scooters (mopeds) and really enjoyed sightseeing in town and zipping around the coast line. We visited the Maine Botanical Gardens which were a few miles from the campground and thoroughly enjoyed it. The RR Museum across the street looked interesting but we ran out of time. We enjoyed hearing the train whistles during the day.

Wells Beach Resort Campground, Wells Beach, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $84.00
Overall Rating:

We loved the location of the park, being so close to the beaches and restaurants. We had three issues with the campground. First; shortly after we arrived and got set up a terrible thunder storm hit dumping a significant amount of rain. The roads between the campsites became swift moving rivers and our site completely flooded. Having never been there before I couldn't tell if it was an isolated incident or common place from heavy downpours. Nonetheless, it was very disruptive to us.

Second; the campsites are so small that our neighbors sewer hose hookup was located about 3' from our picnic table, which was about 4' from their camper.

Third; we had family members that were in town visiting and we were informed they would each be charged $10 to visit with us per day. We camped at Wells Beach Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

Bear Creek Campground, Bristol, Connecticut

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Bear Creek on our trek north to Maine and again as we headed home. It is just off of I-84 in CT. It is confusing to find as it sits next to an amusement park. If you follow signs to the park the campground entrance is down a dirt road just before and to the left of the ticket booths. We camped at Bear Creek Campground in a Motorhome.
