Harrison Bay State Park, Harrison, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

I'm writing about a new (rebuilt) section of the park in which I did not stay because nothing was available there, but I want people to know about this: A brand new "luxury" experience is available at Harrison Bay! I think it's "Loop A," but check at the office. This rebuilt section along the lake has stunning sunset views, well designed spaces with water and clean electricity, and Wi-Fi !!! I'm not sure of the cost of those spaces, so call ahead or check on-line. We camped at Harrison Bay State Park in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a good size grocery store on Rt. 58 north of the entrance. Ask for directions from the ark if you don't stop on the way in. It can be tricky from the park.

In the park, over at the marina, there is a very good restaurant/grill.

Many sites have direct water access and mooring for boats.

Interstate Overnight Park, Christiansburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Unlike others, I had not problem contacting the very warm and helpful owner/manager. Perhaps it was difficult to reach her in the recent past as her husband was ill and has since passed. This is an older campground intended for overnighters and a few seasonals. It was clean, quiet, convenient, and reasonably priced for a full hook-up with cable. We camped at Interstate Overnight Park in a Motorhome.

Lums Pond State Park, Bear, Delaware

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

I've been here for the maximum two weeks and I love everything about this park. The staff is wonderful, the sites are huge, the setting beautiful, and "big city" amenities are nearby. Having only my RV, I rented a car at nearby Hertz in Bear; they shuttled me to and from the campground and the rate was very reasonable. I came here because I had business in Philadelphia, but I will most certainly be back for a vacation. Don't miss the food and view at nearby Crabby Dave's in Delaware City. We camped at Lums Pond State Park in a Motorhome.
