Space Station RV Park, Beatty, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

After a long day on the road it was great finding this small park in Beatty Nevada on I-95. We called about an hour before arriving and was told to come on in for a landing at Space Station. When we arrived we were greeted by a very outgoing, funny gentleman who informed us the he had our space ready. Check in was very fast and easy. The park is small but clean. There are a few full time residents but mostly travelers for a night or two. All sites are pull-thru. There is a little road noise through out the night but not enough to keep you up. No TV using antenna. WIFI was excellent along with water and electrical. We camped at Space Station RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Normas RV Park, Joseph City, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

After a long drive from Deming New Mexico this one nighter is great. Very quiet, little train noise but no horns. Most of the RV's look like they are full time, think most work at the power plant. Staff was friendly and informative. We camped at Normas RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park), Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Typical desert RV park. The RV Park has 132 RV sites all pull through with water, elect, sewer and WiFi. The roads and sites are dirt with a lot of dust. This is a passport America but when we checked in the manager stated they are all taken even though there are about 60 sites empty. Electrical is old and plugs are uncovered, sewer is sketchy. Most of the RV's here the night we stayed look like perminate residents who are working in and around the areas. Somewhat quite with a little road noise. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Potters Creek Park COE, Canyon Lake, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Park is big with over 100 sites most if not all have a lake view. When we were there only loop 4 was open with about 40 sites. All the other loops were closed due to the flooding they had a few months ago damaging the electrical, water and sewer systems. We arrived at 2:35 P.M. the old volunteer in the booth told us we needed to turn around and leave, "check in is at 3:00". We have stayed at many COE's and have arrived early a lot of times and never told to leave, especially when our site was empty. Rules are rules I guess. Anyway park is quiet with level pads and long approaches. We camped at Potters Creek Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Midway Park COE, Waco, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Another Great COE but this is the tightest I believe we have been for a COE. Sites 5-13 over look Waco Lake and the sunsets are awesome. Most of the sites will need some blocking and some are slopped up to a level pad. The park is close to all stores for all your needs. Sites are clean with fire pits, & covered picnic tables. FYI, in the afternoon you may hear a loud roar sometimes very loud. The roar is coming from the Space X rocket testing facility in McGregor not far away. Highway 6 is next to the park but we really did not hear any major highway noise. Sites 6-8 are kind of clustered together but not bad. There are 27 back in RV sites with electric and wahruster. 6 pull-thru's Some site do have sewer 18,21,22&24. Enjoy, #themorgansonthemove We camped at Midway Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Diamond Lure Campground, Ellijay, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $6.00
Overall Rating:

We were here attending a family wedding and very pleased with the park. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The lake is pretty with catch and release fishing (no license needed). When we were here the leaves are starting to fall. The loops above the office behind the bath house are a little tight and steep at one point but not terrible. The staff will guide you in. The sites are some what level but some may need more blocking than others. Great cable and WiFi. Park was quite, our stay was enjoyable. We camped at Diamond Lure Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Hartwell State Park, Fair Play, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

While we were here there were only a few campers so it was really quiet. We only stayed two nights and wished we could have stayed and enjoyed the lake recreation. It was hot and humid but the sunsets are awesome. Site are older with water and electrical and the asphalt is cracking and uneven on the road and some sites, but not real bad. Little tight navigating. We have a 30 foot fifth wheel. We camped at Lake Hartwell State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Norman Motor Coach Resort, Sherrills Ford, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

Let me start off with a positive point. The young lady working in the office was very nice and informative and helped direct us into our site, the view overlooking the cove is nice and the deck bar was relaxing in the evening. Now the negative. $90 per night non refundable. When you make reservations you must provide the year of your trailer, make, etc, if you have an older trailer and/or truck you may not get in. The wifi totally sucks, could never connect, no cell service. The road into the sites are narrow along with the tight, tight sites. If you have trouble backing your rig DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT here. the roads in our one way with sites at an angle so tuff getting out. All the rigs on level 2 are big 5th wheel rigs along with their trucks(at least two in each site) it is very tight to maneuver. I did see a negative review regarding backing in there but thought it cant be that bad", well, it is and the picture on their web site is very misleading. Water pressure is terrible couldn't even take a shower in the RV. We camped at Lake Norman Motor Coach Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Cross Winds Family Campground, Linwood, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Only stayed here two nights on our way into Charlotte. Awesome Campground, Awesome Staff. Clean, well maintained along with a catch and release fishing pond and swimming pool. Awesome fast WiFi and satellite TV. Our site was 70' long with trees in-between sites. The site was pretty level, not an issue. A & B loop sites are in the trees, C & D loop sites are full sun and close to each other. We enjoyed Cross Winds Family Campground. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

A lot of hiking and biking trails from easy to difficult. Nice pool area along with visitor center and museum. Canoe and other water sport equipment is available for rent or bring your own. Stores and resturants are approx 15 minutes away. The road coming from town into the park is narrow and the locals drive it fast. So be careful. Enjoy. #themorgansonthemove

Smoky Bear Campground, Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here a few nights before heading up into the Smokey Mountain National Park. The owners are very nice and helpful. The RV park is a little tight but we have been in a lot worse. Each site has full hook ups along with satellite TV and GREAT WIFI which was AWESOME since we have been in a no service zone for a few weeks. There are 49 back in's and 9 pull-throughs. There is a pool and hot tub along with laundry and a clean bathhouse. The sites are all shaded with gravel pads that are pretty level. Each site has picnic tables and fire rings and lawn area. We camped at Smoky Bear Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the smokey Natl Park are close by with plenty to do. We ate at Paula Deans restaurant which was really good but, if you are on a diet you might want to look for a different spot, LOL. But when in Rome. FYI. Google maps and co-pilot recommend taking exit 417 off of the 40 this route has a lot of curves and is narrow if pulling a larger rig. We took exit 435 which is a little longer if coming from the west but the road is better. Enjoy #themorgansonthemove

Harpeth River Bridge COE, Ashland City, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This COE has 14 sites with long concrete level pads on the Harpeth River. Awesome camp host, very friendly and nice. There is a pond in the the park which was a little dirt (naturally) drift wood, logs, leaves etc but still nice. The lazy river supports all water activities. There is a bridge next to the park but the traffic is not that bad and we really didn't notice much noise. We were in Site 4 for six (6) nites overlooking the pond during Memorial Weekend (which was nice and quiet). We stayed an extra night but had to move over to site 13 which overlooked the river. Again all sites are awesome with water and electrical. No sewer but there is a dump station. We camped at Harpeth River Bridge COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Another awesome COE campground. Canal is clean and well maintained. A lot of the sites especially in the Beach Loop are on the hill with slopes up or down but all come to level on the top. Our site was an awesome lake view overlooking the swimming area. We were only here two days during the week so pretty Mello. If you have golf cart then you will fit right in, almost every one has one, LOL. We camped at Canal COE in a Fifth Wheel.
