Bear Den Campground, Spruce Pine, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is located along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Lots of tight turns going into the campground - but definitely worth it. Beautiful location. The guide you to your site, which is a good thing because they can lead you through some pretty tight turns - but they know how to get you there. The campground is very well maintained, our site was very level. Staff is very friendly and helpful with suggestions for local activities. WiFi is really only useable around the office. Several hiking trails through the mountains starting in the campground. Our week was way too short - guess we need to go back again. We camped at Bear Den Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Pioneer Village Campground, Max Meadows, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this campground overnight on our way to NC and were so impressed that we made a point of staying there on our way back to CT from NC. It was very easy access to I 81 and 78 with clean level sites. We didn't even have to disconnect the trailer from our truck. They were very friendly and accommodating. There was a beautiful area along the river to take a walk with our dogs. It was so peaceful and relaxing after a day of driving. We camped at Pioneer Village Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Echo Valley Campground, Tremont, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped here for one night on our way to Connecticut. Staff was very friendly, gave us a pull-thru site that was dead level. Didn't even have to disconnect from tow vehicle. Sites for transients were narrow but well maintained and power, water and sewer hookups were very convenient. Very well stocked store, very reasonable prices as well. If you stay, you've got to check out the bathrooms! They are spotless and more like home than a campground. Very pleasant stay and will definitely stay again. We camped at Echo Valley Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Western Village RV Park, Carlisle, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here for one night on our way to North Carolina. Found positive reviews on CR so we called and they had a site available. We asked for a pull-thru since we were only staying one night. Staff was very accommodating, had one pull-thru left. Campground was very clean, staff very friendly, store well stocked. Sorry we were only staying the night - seems like a lot to do in the area. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Abel Mountain Campground, Braintree, Vermont

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Able Mtn for 4 nights in June. Sites are open, grassy - this was a departure for the secluded type of site we normally go for. Despite being open, they are very spacious and surprisingly private. Campsites are dead level and because of the openness are very easy to maneuver. Our site backed up to the river - very relaxing with lots of people enjoying the river. The WiFi is excellent, more cable channels than I have at home. They do recycle, and I was happy to learn the proceeds go to local organizations. Lots to do and see in this central part of Vermont. Met lots of friendly campers and will definitely go back again. We camped at Abel Mountain Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was our second visit to Ames Brook. The first time in 2017 was so pleasurable we went back this year. Campsites are spacious, ours was shaded and private. The premium sites by the brook are the absolute best. Staff is very friendly, store is well stocked, sites are level and your choice of sunny or shaded. Showers and bathrooms are up to date. Great central location for all sorts of activities in the area from hiking to shopping to dining. We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Travel Trailer.
