Frank Russell COE, Monroe City, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

Electric only sites in the area we were in. Place was more than half empty on a Thursday and we could reserve a place the night before. Typical COE backin site. Long and paved. One the lake but maybe 30 feet higher and no easy access. Lots of downed wood for a fire. We camped at Frank Russell COE in a Travel Trailer.

Allatoona Landing Campground, Cartersville, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

It was getting dark and we needed a stopping place so this was it: 1) You will get trapped on the roads if you go in looking for late registration. The security guard operated the many gates and got us turned around. You MUST stop at the security shack at the entrance. 2) Was sold a FHU but there was NO SEWER 3) WIFI very poor never made a connection 4) Site wasn't level 5) Trains very loudly ran every couple of minutes all night. LOTS of horn blowing. This normally doesn't disturb me but it was really loud. I suggest finding another CG if possible especially at this price. We camped at Allatoona Landing Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground), Ogallala, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Good overnight stop park. Friendly owners lead you to your site. The park itself is basically a gravel parking lot with a few trees. WIFI works, ATT and Verizon functional. Sites are level. Water pressure a bit odd it pulsates Right off I-80 and a bit noisy if that bothers you. Has a dog park. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Shelby RV Park & Resort, Shelby, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Just a gravel parking lot. WIFI OK, ATT and Verizon work. Behind the Best Western Motel, check in there. A bit noisy with the interstate, HWY 2 and the rail yard. Sites level but tight. Concrete picnic table, utilities at back needed 20 ft of sewer hose. No place to park tow vehicle Very windy, a half gale. We camped at Shelby RV Park & Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Cascade SP - Sugarloaf CG, Cascade, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice state park cg, easy to get in on weekdays. Our site was right on the lake tho about 200 ft from the soggy shoreline. There is a small white sand beach. No hookups but lots of peace and quiet. Very active resident camper who picks up trash and cleans out fire rings. Quite friendly. The park is down about 3 miles of a fair paved but bumpy road. Turn left as soon as you can when you enter the park or you'll go to the marina. This Cascade Lake SP is a bit odd. Each unit is separate, this unit (Sugarloaf) is maybe 10 minutes north of the town of Cascade, watch for the sign and the road on the left. The other units are scattered all the way around this large reservoir. We camped at Lake Cascade SP - Sugarloaf CG in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The town Cascade has some restaurants, a hardware store, and a super market. McCall about 22 miles north has an Albertsons and another big supermarket and everything you expect in a tourist trap town. Fuel costs more in McCall but isn't cheap in Cascade. There is a small minimally stocked RV parts store in between the two towns

Challis Hot Springs, Inc., Challis, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

OK first thing to note is that there are no sewer hookups. Something I missed, my fault. They have a dump station. We got a back in site, probably about average size with a fire ring. There are improved hot springs (concrete pools) here on site. Free to use for campers. One is warm and the other hot. They work a lot on the landscaping, watering devices everywhere. The park is right on the Salmon River something not obvious unless you look for it. And is right under some volcanic cliffs. The drive in from the highway is about 3 miles over a semi rough road. WIFI is poor. My wife's Verizon phone had roaming warnings but my ATT worked. We camped at Challis Hot Springs, Inc. in a Travel Trailer.

Red Ledge RV Park, Kanarraville, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Small park just about in the center of Kanab on the north-south hwy thru the town. Very helpful owners who were still in the office at 7PM. They stuck us in a VERY tight slot but came out and helped us navigate into the spot. I think it was the last spot used for late comers. The other sites were tight but not like the one we got. Still it was better than nothing. WIFI was OK but not great. ATT and Verizon both functional. We camped at Red Ledge RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

ld have given this cg a higher rating except for one very irritating thing. They rent out the 20 amp outlet on your box. Putting the other rv in backwards and VERY close to yours. The other rv'ers disconnected my 30 amp plug leading to mysterious outages in our camper. This leads to very close neighbors obviously. WIFI was mediocre despite having 6 access points two at 866 mbps and the rest at 144. We camped at USA RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Big Texan RV Ranch (formerly Amarillo Ranch RV Park), Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed overnight. Right off I-40 but construction is making access difficult. You have to go to exit 75, follow the service road east, go under I40 and back west on the other service road. Very friendly and helpful people. They provide a pilot vehicle to take you to your site. However back in sites utilities are on the wrong side you have to pull in and disconnect your tow vehicle and pull it back around behind the RV if you want to use the tow vehicle. Thus the limo mentioned in the other review. We stayed connected since we are heading out first thing. And back out in the morning. Lots of room, soe trees but not big enough to give a lot of shade. Site is level. WIFI is excellent, I see 6 routers for the park. Ours is 867 MBS but some others are 144 I would have rated the place as an 8 except for this oddity. We camped at Big Texan RV Ranch (formerly Amarillo Ranch RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Lazy L RV Park, Sherman, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Fair WIFI 144 MPS, Gravel level pads. Not too close to neighbors. Behind Camping World. No local TV they rent cable boxes for $2/night but we could not get our TV to work with it. Small swimming pool. The map in the big book is very confusing. Office help was very friendly Our first assigned site was already occupied but would have been too short. One we got was OK. We have a 30 ft TT. We camped at Lazy L RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lakeshore RV Park, Lake Village, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very poor WIFI basically worthless except early in the morning and then marginal at best. Place was soggy with many water filled ditches and puddles. Tight space with neighbors close, dirt pad and dirt roads. No shade. Pads far out of level. They do have a fishing pier across Hwy 82 but it is decrepit with part semi collapsed and with missing boards. We camped at Lakeshore RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Outback Springs RV Resort , Bonifay, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We just spent the night when passing thru. This is an old park our site didn't have sewer. There is a restaurant in the CG and there we a lot of local cars parked in front of it so it must be OK. The bathrooms are inside the restaurant building and are more like a residential bathroom with a bathtub than what you would normally expect to find. There is a spring onsite and swimming is permitted but we got there too late for that.

This place was OK for an overnight off I-10 but we wouldn't spend more time here than that. We camped at Outback Springs RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
