Buck Creek RV Park (formerly Buck Creek Campground and Driving Rang, Marion, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This was a last minute Labor day weekend booking and we were so glad we found this place. The owner is awesome and keeps the grounds immaculate! We had a pull thru site with toad. We were the second RV behind another. It was a little unusual at first-but so glad we had a beautiful view from our front awning and no one beside us. The back in sites to the creek are small and tight. It is a beautiful creek for people to cool off in. Bathrooms were clean and the laundry area was clean also. 30-45 minute drive to area attractions. Our site was fine gravel and very little leveling required. Definitely have someone spotting when emptying sewer hose-no threads to connection. Camped here in a class C with tow. Would return. We camped at Buck Creek RV Park (formerly Buck Creek Campground and Driving Rang in a Motorhome.

Cool Breeze Campground , Galax, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Second time staying here and was not disappointed. Grounds are well kept. Pull thru site on a Memorial day weekend. Excellent hook ups. Very clean and quiet. Used it as a base camp to visit Grayson Highlands State Park ( 1 hour away) and to do the Virginia Creeper-17 mile bike ride (1 .5 hour away). Also visited the thrift/consignment shop in Galax and picked up a few bargains! Love this area. We camped at Cool Breeze Campground in a Motorhome.

Inland Harbor RV Park, Darien, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Not a destination CG-more of a home base for sight seeing and relaxing. Very quiet and clean. Gated-safe feeling. Sites are asphalt with picnic table and full hook ups. Only suggestion would be adding hooks in the shower area to hang things up off the bench. Close to interstate so you will hear traffic noise if AC isn't running. We camped at Inland Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails), Clermont, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Close to Disney (ask about the back way in when checking in). Very hot and humid in August (they have no control over the weather). Mini golf in need of updating. Bath houses had been remodeled and in excellent shape/cleanliness. Loved the idea of free use of pool table-tennis-badminton-but they only stayed in the store til 6pm. Had to place items in another room after use, which was OK, but had to be sure to sign the stuff back in the next day. We are not members, but so grateful they allow "visitors". Much cheaper than Disney's Fort Wilderness! Need to offer golf cart rentals - grandparents couldn't get out much due to mobility issues. Had to drive personal tow to everything in the park (it's that large). Bicycles are a necessity if you can ride one. Grass didn't get mowed til the day before our departure. We had pull thru concrete sites-you can tell this park is a "little aged." We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Disney within 20 minute drive. Dropped park goers off and went back to get them when they were ready to come back to the RV. Did a lot of "thrifting" while park goers did their thing.

Cool Breeze Campground , Galax, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Would have rated it a 10-but the hubby really needs his sports channels-no cable tv-reception with antenna. Needs things for kids to do-didn't see many children around. Very quiet and clean. Definitely has a breeze going on in this CG. Recommend awnings be tied down. Would be really nice if the Resort next door would share that golf course with this CG. Hubby was a little disappointed about that. The map showed a golf course next to this CG. Matter of fact, never seen anyone from the other resort using it. Hookups are approx. 2-3 feet from each other-recommend extra sewer/water/ and electric hook up. Sites are gravel with minimal leveling required. Stayed in pull thru behind office. Site long enough for tow dolly/Class C/ Kia with extra room. Well spaced from neighbors. Owner has daytrip information with directions-found that to be a nice touch. Nice CG. We camped at Cool Breeze Campground in a Motorhome.

Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park, Limestone, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here in a class c. Had the Nolichucky River view (53). Front end of RV required placing on 2-3 boards to level. Pull through site-spaces are close so no fire crate. We did use the crate next to the river(first get it basis). Awesome river sound and scenery. Checked out the bath houses-very clean only one for men/women at each end of the CC. Used our on board facilities. Used this cc for day excursions to Jonesborough and Johnson City. So much history to take in-didn't have enough time to get it all in-will definitely be back! People very nice and helpful at CC and every place we visited. Only got 3 ota channels. Be prepared to level your front end when visiting this park. Can't believe there wasn't many out of state campers-well kept secret We camped at Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park in a Motorhome.

Topsail Hill State Preserve, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Can't believe this is a state park! Very impressed-more like an RV resort! Camped in site 012. Easy back in site. Concrete pad with paved driveway. Picnic table. Excellent cable TV! We felt like there was lots of space between campers. 50/30 amp hook up at site.W/S hookup. Love the tram access for parents to get to beach-beautiful beach/dunes. (reminded us of the Outer Banks) Didn't see a lot of personal golf carts though. Wish they had these to rent for people who can't get around too well, especially my parents, but we got lucky one day the tram came back to pick them up instead of having to wait 2 hours for the next ride. Staff are awesome! Very friendly. Rented bicycles for $20/day. Camped here in a Class C RV. Will definitely be back and tow our vehicle this time-due to the well spaced out sites. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort, South Charleston, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We had a pull thru site with concrete patio. Gravel/grass. Just a little bit of leveling required. Large space in between campsites. Dated picnic table-but usable. Fire ring. Very clean campground. Has a lot of permanent campers. But each site is very neat and updated looking. Our neighbor said he was a "member" at this CG. Very quiet at night-can hear the interstate noise when AC not running-not too bad. We had great TV reception using our antenna. Interior roads are gravel-5mph-to keep dust down, no problem with our weekend stay. Will definitely return! Well worth $35/night! We camped at Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Joe Wheeler State Park, Rogersville, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Clean and spacious sites. But you will do quite a bit of leveling. Avoid pull through sit A 5. It has a significant dip and looked some have really dragged going up into it. We stayed at A3-sewer would back up and over flow every time we tried to dump-reported the first time-thought it was fixed and it did the same thing again the next day. Had to use the dump station going out of the park when we left. If I stayed there again I would chose sites A2,A13 and A14 (30 amp service). Employees were nice and helpful. Bath houses clean but shower stalls need updating really bad. Paved sites. concrete picnic tables, fire ring. Had to leave a day early due to our car being involved in an accident on our way to a day excursion (not our fault-lady flew through stop sign on HWY 101). Rate it a 7 due to sewer issue. We camped at Joe Wheeler State Park in a Motorhome.

DeSoto State Park, Fort Payne, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Made reservations months in advance for the Labor day holiday. Glad we did. The park was full. Camped in a Class C with tow vehicle at the pull through site 48. Site is asphalt-and required quite a bit of leveling on our spot. Sites are very long and great spacing in between your neighbor. Some of the pull thru-sites have a little bit of shade. Dad had site 49 and it was a little bit better at leveling. Fire pit/grill. The back in sites are fine gravel and looked to be a lot easier to level. Very clean and quiet park. Wish TN would take a look at updating their state parks like this.Had full-hookup W/E/S. Wi-fi reception was over at the bathhouse. The bath house was very nice and clean for a state park. Definitely bring enough supplies for your stay. Have to drive back down main road to get to the park store for any essentials. Good cable TV-lots of hiking trails. Alabama's best kept secret! Will definitely be back! Would rate this park a 10 except for the leveling issues and wi-fi. Picnic tables are wood/warped also. Beautiful campground! $40/per night reflects all the fees/taxes. No trash cans at sites-have to haul trash to main dumpster. We camped at DeSoto State Park in a Motorhome.

I have stayed here once a year ever since they have opened this awesome resort. The owners and staff are great. Stayed here July 4th weekend-forgot to make reservation for Golf cart- sold out-staff very accomadating to haul you to your destination.Took a one hour tour ($10 per person-new this year) on a very nice pontoon boat-staff made you feel safe and at home. Enjoyed the lake-warm and clean. Pool was very busy. This resort is our "mountain ocean getaway." 5 Stars, again, Anchors Down! We camped at Anchor Down RV Resort in a Motorhome.
