Knights Key RV Resort and Marina, Marathon, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

My comments are not up to date and guessing on the rate as we paid by the month. We have been coming to this place a lot since 2001 when we got our RV. We have stayed on the water and in the infield section. We last were there February 2014 and really like this place. Sadly, it has been sold and will be developed into a resort so the park will be gone. We have reserved a site this coming winter. Thank goodness. It is not a fancy rv park and not a resort type facility, but the staff is great, the campers are almost like family and I cannot wait to return. Thank goodness they come and pump you out or we'd have to leave in 4 days. We camped at Knights Key RV Resort and Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Oak Plantation Campground, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great place to stay when visiting Charleston and the young man in the office was so wonderful to work with. He helped us extend our stay another night. The only downside is not the campground, but Route 17 is horrible. It is very congested and getting onto the road out of the campground can be trying. Going right is a little better, but heading out and going left is quite hard. The congestion is caused by over building of homes, apartments and condos without improving the roads. We won't be returning. Another twist...called the Mt. Pleasant KOA since it is closer to our family. Their posted rates of $51 turned into $71 and so we returned to Oak Plantation. We've visited this campground about 3 or 4 times and it is great except for the speed bumps. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Skidaway Island State Park, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Wow, second visit in about 5 years and it is so beautiful. We love this place with the pull overs, beautiful trees and wonderful place to stay. I would rather stay here than visit Savannah again, although it is a great city. We have visited Savannah lots of times, but Skidaway is amazing. We camped at Skidaway Island State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Okay for visiting the area, but very dated. Mostly construction people staying there, but quiet and no problems. We camped at White Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Cave Country RV Campground, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

I would have given this place a ten if there was a pool. The place is manicured and gorgeous gardens everywhere. The laundry facilities were spotless, as were the bathrooms and showers. I did not use the showers, but did look at them and they were spotless. The owners were friendly and go out of their way to make you feel like friends. If ever in this area again, I would stay here. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a clean and lovely state park. The roads in and out were perfect and the displays and historic buildings are very interesting. We had a nice time visiting Smithfield and two great restaurants in which we had lunch. We camped at Chippokes Plantation State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cross Winds Family Campground, Linwood, North Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We needed an easy to get to campground for one night on our way home off of I-85. This place is perfect. It is quiet, laid out well, and the owners are the nicest southern people around. We really enjoyed our last night in our RV after being gone from home 2 months. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Knights Key RV Resort and Marina, Marathon, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

I hesitate to rate this park for fear it will be so full we cannot get a reservation. We've been coming here since 2000, every year but one. This is a laid back, friendly park that is located in a pretty part of this world. They have many activities planned, but the beautiful part is the scenery. Nearby is a great restaurant called the Sunset Grille and Raw Bar, which we have frequented quite a few times. The 7 mile bridge is right here and a great place to walk or ride a bike. It's just like another home to us!!!! We camped at Knights Key RV Resort and Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Tampa South RV Resort, Ruskin, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great campground with nice roads, nice pull-through sites and only a sprinkling of permanent residents. The staff helped us greatly with a site after being disappointed with a nearby campground. The laundry room was immaculate and reasonably priced. We camped at Tampa South RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

River Vista RV Village, Ruskin, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

I cannot believe the previous reviews. Maybe I am just too picky, but this place is a dump. The staff was friendly and cooperative, but the place is cramped and has lots of permanent residents, which I understand this is how campgrounds survive, but the site they gave us was impossible. They misrepresented the site, saying that it was a nice back in site and they could help with getting our camper into the site. The gentleman realized that it was impossible and suggested that we disconnect our truck and then he would get some guy across the way with a short bed to back it in. The site was very narrow and the concrete pad for the picnic table made getting into the site worse. They gave us a refund and we went elsewhere. We camped at River Vista RV Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Knights Key RV Resort and Marina, Marathon, Florida

Overall Rating:

I love this place. It is funky, fun, friendly, and has beautiful scenery. The weather was warm and in fact it got too hot a few days. They have lots of nice activities on a regular basis and the staff and campers are so friendly. The rate is based on a month long stay. We camped at Knights Key RV Resort and Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Treasure Coast RV Park & Campground, Fort Pierce, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2013 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

I have reviewed this park several years ago and gave it a 10 and still cannot find a thing wrong with this place. It is still a 10. I have never rated any campground a 10 except this place. They go out of their way to provide fun and entertainment, graciousness, beauty and just a great atmosphere. This trip it was warm and I enjoyed the heated pool and the water fitness was great. Having been in the pool business, I checked the chemical levels of both the pool and hot tub with test strips and they were perfect. We camped at Treasure Coast RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Westmoreland State Park, Montross, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This park is absolutely gorgeous. The campsites are spread out with lots of privacy. This is a slow time here and therefore you could hear a pin drop. The visitor center is lovely and the staff were very helpful. The trails were wonderful as well and we did see bald eagles every day we were here. The only negative things were the bathrooms in campground A, need lots of attention. The window screens were torn and covered with dirt and bugs. The water pressure is very low. We ended up filling our fresh water tank and used our pump to increase the pressure to take showers. They are working on that problem though. We camped at Westmoreland State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
