Milton / Gulf Pines KOA, Milton, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

This KOA is very handy off I-10 in the west Florida panhandle. Sites are level but sometimes have trees in the way of awnings. The park is nicely maintained and has a very nice pool. Staff is helpful and keeps someone on duty to assist late arrivals. We have stayed here 10-12 times in the past 7 years as it is handy to visit family. We camped at Milton / Gulf Pines KOA in a Motorhome.

Hinton RV Park, Sikeston, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a convenient RV stop from I-55 - less than a mile. Sites are long and level. Utilities are in good condition. Office staff is helpful with site parking. A shuttle is available to take guests to Lambert's "Throwed Roll" Cafe that is a fun place to eat with comfort food menu choices. We have stayed here 10-12 times over the past 7 years and always know it will be a comfortable place after a long day on the road. We camped at Hinton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Country View Campground, Ogallala, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night. We were in a site where turning is tight. Trees in the park need to be trimmed back to accomodate big rigs. The manager was a little blunt about where we parked our tow car. I don't appreciate not getting all the needed directions. We camped at Country View Campground in a Motorhome.

Mountain Home RV Park, Mountain Home, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This park is handy off I-84. Sites are wide and level. Sites in the original section of the park are treed. Numerous sites have been added to the park and work very well for big rigs. Utilities are good. We arrived late and were shown to our site which was helpful. They have a wide entrance drive and also a nice dog park close to the office. We camped at Mountain Home RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a newer park that is associated with Guaranty RV. Sites are nicely laid out, most are level, and utilities are fine. There is a nice dog park and restroom building. Guaranty RV has a store on site and a cafe as well. They offered one night free if staying for 6 nights. We camped at Guaranty RV Park in a Motorhome.

Northern Quest RV Park, Airway Heights, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 2 nights. The RV park was opened in the late spring of 2019. It is very well laid out - wide roads, nice sites, nicely landscaped. Office area and picnic shelter are first rate. I didn't use the pool but it also looked very nice. We had a minor problem with the drainage on our sewer line and reported it. Northern Quest doesn't have a regular shuttle to the casino/hotel (10 years old) but hope they work on it as the RV park is a healthy walk away. Staff was all helpful. Price here is the normal rate - we paid $30+ more for the first night because of a major concert being held on the hotel property. We camped at Northern Quest RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dick's RV Park, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here two nights. Staff was very friendly in doing reservations, check-in, and other later questions. Our site was not level for auto leveling systems that are in big rigs but we made it work. The park is clean but a little on the scrubby side on the periphery. For a basic stay, it was fine. We camped at Dick's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA, Devils Tower, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night. State roads from I-90 to reach Devil's Tower are good and well-marked. When we arrived at the campground corner, they were in the midst of a Saturday car show and it was very hard to tell where to turn in. We stopped and checked with the office and proceeded. Not fun to turn around a large motorhome and tow car...ever. This KOA has a cafe on site; hours were reduced due to end of summer. One special feature: the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", which was partly filmed at Devil's Tower, is shown on the patio every night! The Devil's Tower entrance is just past the campground. The Devil's Tower Trading Post is across the road. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Motorhome.

Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Rafter J Bar for 4 nights. This park has a great pastoral setting aFnd is close to Highways 16, 385, 244, and 87 to see sights of the Black Hills area. We did not get our reservation until 3-4 days before arrival, and were placed in the Base Camp. The site was OK, but the access road to that part of the resort (Washington Street) has a very sharp decline and corner turn from the office/check-in area. It caused our ABS to come on, which luckily reset itself. Our site was just not designed for a large motorhome back-in. We ran over grass and had to dodge a tree to exit. We love this park, but not our location this time. Internet access is very spotty, but the location is in the mountains. We camped at Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

The Badlands are 50 miles to the east.

Mitchell KOA, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night en route to the Black Hills. This KOA is about 3 miles east of Mitchell and accessible from I-90. Rain earlier in the day made our site soggy, but it dried fairly well. The pool was well maintained for an afternoon swim. Interior roads are decent with a tight turn as one prepares to exit with a big rig. Staff/owners are helpful. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Motorhome.

Flying Goose Campground, Fairmont, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night while en route to Mankato for RV service. This park is south of I-90 and reachable from either the Blue Earth or Fairmont exits (depending on road construction!). The park is located on Lake Imogene and has lots of green space. It appears that many campers are seasonal but sites were well kept. Our site was level with adequate utilities. Interior roads were adequate. We would stay here again. We camped at Flying Goose Campground in a Motorhome.
