Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort, Crystal River, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground but very overpriced for sites offered. It does feel like you are in a state park with privacy in most sites. We called ahead to reserve a pull through shaded site. The one given was long enough but we couldn't open the door or slides because of the tree and table in the way. We had to choose a back in site which was much nicer. We took advantage of the hot tub and pool and had it all to ourselves. Looks like most people here are full timers and lots of campers being stored at sites. We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Bahia Honda State Park, Big Pine Key, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Absolutely beautiful! We camped in site 15 Buttonwood on the water. That was the best snorkeling spot in the whole park! I would have given it a 10 if they had sewer hookups. Also, the dump station should be located on the road leaving the park, not in the middle of the campground in my opinion. The poor people camped next to it have to put up with the smell and engine noise of those using the facilities. I would not recommend using the campsites near the cabins. Those sites are extremely small and the bugs are horrible. The other campsites on the beach are nice and tucked into the shade which you will need in that heat. I can see why it is so hard to get a site here. We lucked out and booked a week when someone else cancelled. We camped at Bahia Honda State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wildwood RV Village (formerly Wildwood KOA), Wildwood, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground and friendly management. Price reflects military discount. Great location/easy access to the interstate. The bathrooms were spotless; although, not air conditioned. The sites are grassy with great hookups (no problem with 50 amp or cable). We camped at Wildwood RV Village (formerly Wildwood KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Blackwater River State Park , Holt, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very well kept park. All sites are clean, your garbage is picked up daily and the staff is very friendly. There are several places to swim within the park. The water was very clean and cold. On a hot August day, that's just what we needed. Sites were easy to get in/out of, hook ups were updated and nice new gravel at each site. Our cell reception/internet was very spotty. We were impressed with this park and the ranger. We camped at Blackwater River State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
