Shipshewana Trading Place RV Park, Shipshewana, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

a no frills park unless you count the flea market which is within walking distance (Tuesday and Wednesday). Roads and sites are gravel and mostly level. Water and electric ok. Staff was friendly (let us move to be nearer to friends). Best campground in the area in my opinion. Convenient to activities in the area. Wi-fi very spotty. We camped at Shipshewana Trading Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Allendale / West Grand Rapids KOA, Allendale, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Gravel roads (lots of pot holes and LOTS of dust) and gravel site. Electricity was marginal and water pressure was low (40 psi). Wi-fi was useless. We will not stay here again. We camped at Allendale / West Grand Rapids KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Frankfort Crystal Lake RV Resort, Frankfort, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice park. I would give it a 10 rating except the roads are gravel and TV reception is poor. The host (who apparently does everything) was very nice and helpful. The sites are concrete (some have concrete patios and some have brick patios). Electric and water were very good. Wi-fi was OK when using early in the day or late at night. The park is about 3 miles east of Frankfort, MI which is a beautiful town on the shore with a nice beach and several shops. It is also close to Sleeping Bear Dunes which is why we stayed in the area. We camped at Frankfort Crystal Lake RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Aune-Osborn Campground, Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Great park to watch freighters on the St. Mary river. No sewer but we were only there 2 nights to view the Soo locks and the freighters. Check in was easy as I had prepaid. you must pay an $8 fee to reserve. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Kritter's Northcountry Campground and Cabins, Newberry, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Check in was pleasant, nice staff. The roads are gravel and sites are grass but fairly level. Not much to do around the area except the falls which are 25 miles away. They wanted $5 per gig for wi-fi so we used our hotspot but it was hit and miss. We camped at Kritter's Northcountry Campground and Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Pictured Rocks RV Park & Campground, Christmas, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

First impression was not good. The road leading into the campground from the highway was gravel and very dusty (needs more gravel). Lucky for us that it did not rain while we were there. The sites are also gravel and appear to have a lot of old ground up blacktop. We had full hook ups with good water pressure but electric was marginal at 110 volts. CG does have wi-fi but it is extremely slow so we had to use our hotspot. The grass is in desperate need of water. We camped at Pictured Rocks RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rustic Timbers Door County Camping (formerly Door County Camping Retre, Egg Harbor, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is located about in the middle of Door County and is about 1 mile off of the highway so it is quiet. Our site was gravel but was quite spacious and very long. We had a fire ring and picnic table and full hook ups. The only wi-fi was at the office which was some distance from the site but we did have a good AT&T signal so we were able to access the internet via our hotspot. Very few tv stations but that was not a problem for us. We used the CG as a base to explore the area. The only interaction that we had with the staff was a check in. We camped at Rustic Timbers Door County Camping (formerly Door County Camping Retre in a Fifth Wheel.

Wisconsin State Fair RV Park, West Allis, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

A large asphalt parking lot with full hookups. This park is primarily for attendees to fair events. Our site was on a slope but we were able to level the trailer (there are some sites that are fairly level). The sewer connections are too high. The internet is very slow but there is a good AT&T signal so we were able to use our hotspot. It is a good base to explore the city. We stay here for 4 days. We camped at Wisconsin State Fair RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cliffside County Park, Racine, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We love this park!! Sites are spacious and most are shaded. It is quiet and peaceful. With that said, there are some negatives - NO SEWERS so if you are going to stay more that 3 or 4 days you will have to dump. No wi-fi but there is a good AT&T signal so if you have a hotspot, you can still get internet. Most sites are fairly level but for our site we had to put boards under one side. We camped at Cliffside County Park in a Fifth Wheel.

D & W Lake Camping and RV Park, Champaign, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice setting for a RV Park - nice small lake but our site was not adjacent to it. Close to I-57 but noise not too bad. Site is quite large and some shade in the AM. Water pressure only 40 psi and water did not taste good (Iron pipes?). Electric good. Wifi signal strong and response OK early in the day or late at night. AT&T signal good. We camped at D & W Lake Camping and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Brown County / Nashville KOA, Nashville, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Site is quiet and semi-secluded. Electric and water were good (we did not hook up to sewer since we were only here for 1 night). good AT&T reception but wifi was typically very slow. The site would have been better if smaller gravel was used instead of the quarter size chunks. We camped at Brown County / Nashville KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Grandma's RV Camping, Shepherdsville, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Again, a gravel parking lot with full hookups. Person who greeted us was a grumpy old man who directed us to our site and said to check in after 3PM. Water OK but electric barely at 110 volts. Sites are very close and I could not put my awning out. wifi not usable but a good AT&T signal. We camped at Grandma's RV Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Fern Lake Campground, Paducah, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Another gravel parking lot with full hook-ups. Convenient to I-24 and about 5 miles from downtown Paducah. Water, electric, and sewer OK although electric voltage was borderline in the afternoon when the temperature was in the 90's. I was able to connect to wifi but it was very slow. Good AT&T signal. Cave Country RV Campground, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful small park near Mammoth Cave. Nicely laid out with some shade. Check-in staff very friendly and helpful. The only drawback is gravel roads and pads but they are fairly level. Good water and electric. KY Hwy 90 is very close but not too much road noise. CSX railroad tracks also close but did not notice any trains after 11PM. Good AT&T signal. Wifi signal strong but very slow speed. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
