Tā Ch’ilā Provincial Park (Boya Lake), Good Hope Lake, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very well maintained park but dust can be an issue during busy times as the park road follows the lakeshore except for a few new sites. Most lake front sites have direct access to the water of Boya lake. The water of Boya lake is a clear aqua marine color and the main draw. This lake also has many islands and inlets which are great to explore. Firewood is available for a fee. We camped at Tā Ch’ilā Provincial Park (Boya Lake) in a Travel Trailer.

Sanbaa Deh Falls Territorial Park, Fort Simpson, Northwest Territories

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Sambaa Deh is a territorial park located on the Trout River between two local falls on Hwy. #1 about 90 km. east of Checkpoint. Territorial Parks have limited facilities as they are usually miles from any infrastructure and must contend with permafrost, bedrock and short seasons. They truck water to the sites and then need to truck any waste water from the dump stations. It's understandable then they ask you to limit use and don't fill your RV at the site. They still however, manage to have limited hours for hot showers, potable water, dump stations and even large play areas for kids. Wherever possible power is provided. The parks usually have some sites referred to as pull throughs. These are usually a U shaped and provide huge spaces for your site. The playground at Sambaa Deh would be the envy of a lot of public schools. The also have a large building c/w tables, cook stove and BBQ that an be rented for a nominal fee of less than $30. The draw @ Sambaa Deh however, are the 2 falls you can walk to from the campground and the viewing station to view the gorge made by the river. The facilities @ this site are over 25 years old but have been so well maintained over the years you would swear they are almost new. The operators must be clean freaks as all services are spotless!! We will return when in the area. We camped at Sanbaa Deh Falls Territorial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Fort Simpson Territorial Park, Fort Simpson, Northwest Territories

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Fort Simpson is a territorial park in Fort Simpson located near the McKenzie river and a local athletic park. It is close enough to downtown that it is an easy walk. Territorial Parks have limited facilities as they are usually miles from any infrastructure and must contend with permafrost, bedrock and short seasons. They truck water to the sites and then need to truck any waste water from the dump stations. It's understandable then they ask you to limit use and don't fill your RV at the site. Fort Si,pson has a water fill station @ the Visitors Center. They still however, manage to have limited hours for showers, potable water, dump stations and even play areas for kids. Wherever possible power is provided. The parks usually have some sites referred to as pull throughs. These are usually U shaped and provide huge spaces for your site. Wood was provided free for this park and the free spotless hot showers were available for a few hours in the morning and evening. We will return when in the area. We camped at Fort Simpson Territorial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Blackstone Territorial Park, Fort Liard, Northwest Territories

Overall Rating:

Blackstone is a territorial park located on the Liard river. Territorial Parks have limited facilities as they are usually miles from any infrastructure and must contend with permafrost, bedrock and short seasons. They truck water to the sites and then need to truck any waste water from the dump stations. It's understandable then they ask you to limit use and don't fill your RV at the site. The parks usually have some sites referred to as pull throughs. These are usually U shaped and provide huge spaces for your site. All Blackstone's facilities are clean and well maintained and this site even has an info center and small interpretative center as part of there facilities. A nice touch for tenters are the shelters and kitchen areas provided. These would really be appreciated by wet canoeists who have spent several days on the river. I almost forgot the graveled hiking trails they provide. We will return when in the area. We camped at Blackstone Territorial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Hay Lake Campground, Fort Liard, Northwest Territories

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Fort Liard provides a 12 site municipal RV park free. It is on Hay lake just outside of town. The sites are a little unusual but if you get the one on the lake it's so close you can throw rocks in it. Boat launching is fairly easy but we didn't stay to try the fishing. While we were there we got a visit from the local bison herd. They also have cheap diesel fuel! We camped at Hay Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Downtown RV Park, Watson Lake, Yukon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is basically a large parking lot of back-ins and pull-throughs with complete service. It's a great location as most things of interest are within walking distance. It may be a bit worn but every thing works. Internet is available for half an hour but phone hotspots are the way to go! We will return when passing through Watson Lake as it is convenient. We camped at Downtown RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very well maintained park with almost half of the sites with direct lake access. Most sites will fit most rigs. This is a FCFS park so arrive early. Most people just overnight @ the park but some stay up to the 14 day maximum. Firewood is available for a fee. We will return when in the area. Beaumont Provincial Park, Fraser Lake, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This park has very easy access to and from Hwy. #16. Most sites are FCFS which suites the overnight use made of most sites. Some sites can be reserved, if desired. It is best to arrive before 4:00 PM to ensure a site. Not all sites will fit large rigs as the roads a very narrow. The park has a very nice beach and day use area. The lake is very shallow for some distance from the beach which makes it ideal for small kids. We will return when in the area. We camped at Beaumont Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Perris State Recreation Area, Perris, California

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Lake Perris is a state park located beside a man-made lake. The park is huge with day-use space for thousands of people who likely use it during the warmer months. It was even quite busy with boaters while we were there. The camping is divided into RV sites which are basically a grouped parking lot with services and 'tent' sites with no services. The full service RV site are a bit misleading as the sewage connection is only for gray water. A dump station is available for all to use for black or gray water. Most of the tent sites have a paved parking area which will accommodate most RV's to @ least 30'. Most are fairly level but some are only level for short distances. The tent sites have a picnic table and fire pit. Hot showers and restrooms are usually close and seem to be cleaned regularly. I almost forgot the 9 mile paved path around the lake which makes for a nice bike ride. We would stay again if in the area but would make sure it is out of high season. We camped at Lake Perris State Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Rancho Jurupa Park, Riverside, California

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This county park is divided into 2 distinct areas. The Cottonwood park has very nice sites either back-in or pull-through with long concrete pads as well as an extension with a nice picnic table and a fire pit nearby. There are large grass spaces between each site and usually a tree or 2 for shade. The lake section appears to more of a ' free-for-all ' some sites with power and others I'm not sure. The area is dirt with some graveled areas which may be road or sites. Needless to say this area is less expensive and a few sites are even near the lake. The park has 2 nice lakes that are stocked with fish and it appears to be well used. A large day-use area is also @ the entrance to the park. This was a great location to spend a few days and we will certainly stay again if in the area. We camped at Rancho Jurupa Park in a Travel Trailer.

Golden Village Palms RV Resort , Hemet, California

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large park with wide paved roads that make for easy access for back-in or pull-through sites. They have several price ratings for different quality of sites. A number of sites are occupied by permanent park models some of which have been there for a long time. The park is well maintained and you can see where improvements are made each year. The WIFI provided was normally okay during our stay. We stayed for a week @ their special 1 week rate. The only down side will bug a few people and that is the price of laundry. At $2.75 for a wash and $2.50 for a dry -- it's no wonder they require use of a credit card to pay! We camped at Golden Village Palms RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Rancho Rialto RV Resort (55+ Park), Yuma, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large park with a large area of permanent park models and a smaller area for RV's. The RV lots are at least 50 deep by 40 wide with those next to the fence, corners etc. larger. The RV sites are natural except for a large concrete patio. The area is quite busy but the park is far enough from any busy road to be very quite @ night. The park has all the facilities you could want and seem's very organized. The rate is based on a weekly stay. We would stay again if in the area. OG RV Park, Yuma, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

OG is an older park with mostly older but well maintained 'park' models. Most residents have been coming for years but certainly welcome the short term guests with open arms. The rules are enough paper to start a bonfire but mostly apply to people who stay for the season (October to April) and the few year round residents. The lots are spacious and have a grass buffer to the security wall or between back to back sites. Most sites seem to have a small shed as well. Services at each site are convenient and work well. The park supplied WIFI is really only available in or near the club house. We would stay again due to the friendly residents and management but would need to bring our own WIFI. In addition for golfers a 9 hole course is only a few minutes walk and the park has times booked for resident use. The rate is based on a weekly stay. We would stay again if in the area. We camped at OG RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Newberry Mountain RV and Motel Park, Newberry Springs, California

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a small site located next to Hwy. 40 and near major rail lines. Access to the park is easy from either direction and check in is easy thanks to the courteous staff. The site is gravel everywhere which in this case works great to keep down the dust on site. The night we where there the wind blew so hard the traffic noise etc. was not noticeable., The sites are large and the services well located. It appears the ponds and pool are as advertised but we didn't use them. WIFI is a bit hit and miss depending on which site you are in and the units between you and the office. This park is good value for a night when passing through. We will stay again. We camped at Newberry Mountain RV and Motel Park in a Travel Trailer.
