Orange Grove RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Big rig friendly, long pull through site, friendly staff, all make for a great overnight stop on the road. The laundry is $1.75 for both washers and dryers of which they had four machines each, in three different locations. We camped at Orange Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Durango RV Resort, Red Bluff, California

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful park. Staff is very efficient as well as friendly. Park is exceptionally well maintained and sites are large, level and are surrounded by lots of lush grass. Walking distance to a grocery store and a couple of restaurants. We used it as a base to visit Lassen which is about an hour away. The only negative I can see is the traffic noise at night may be a problem if your coach is not well insulated. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Guaranty RV Park, Junction City, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

New park with long wide cement sites separated by lots of grass. Big rig friendly. We were in Junction City for a couple of days to get some things done on our coach and it was perfect for that. Not so much a destination park, but great for overnight or to visit family or friends in the area. They could use a big sign at the entrance to the park. I have posted a picture of the turn in coming south on 99. We camped at Guaranty RV Park in a Motorhome.

Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

If you are self contained and are looking for a clean, quiet, safety campground in this area then this is your campground. We needed an overnight on the road and did not want to pay double this rate at other campgrounds for amenities we would not use. The camp host is a sheriff. The young woman at the fairgrounds that answers the phone is a breath of fresh air. This campground is new this year and was about 2/3rds full the Friday night we stayed here in late August. I suspect once word gets out you will need reservations far in advance during the season. We camped at Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

West Glacier KOA, West Glacier, Montana

Overall Rating:

Ah-mazing!!! The nicest campground we have stayed in in 16 years of RVing. A big rigs dream. They have received all kinds of rewards, and deservingly so. This is a large busy campground that is maintained to the highest standards by a staff that clearly enjoys working there. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

St. Mary / East Glacier KOA, St Mary, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $86.00
Overall Rating:

Great location for exploring the east side of Glacier NP. This is a very large, super busy campground. Campsites are tight, but doable in a big rig. They have wonderful tent sites as well as camper cabins. Pool and pancake breakfasts in season. Wonderful nature trail to walk your dog along the river. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you are going to hike in Glacier, in season, arrive early at the trailheads to get a parking spot and also avoid mobs of people on the trails. Our first day we arrived at Hayden Pass to a full parking lot at 8:30. After that, we arrived at trailheads between 7-7:30 to a much better experience. Eat at Johnson's Cafe for their homemade soup, bread, and huckleberry ice cream pie.

Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA , Arco, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Campground feel with lots of grass and big trees, as well as spaces in the open without trees. Very friendly personnel who make every effort to ensure you are happy. Big rig (we are 45' plus tow car) friendly. Safe, quiet, clean. Our site was a 50 amp pull thru with a large shade tree which didn't interfere with our satellite. It was a little unlevel but no problem for our airbags. I did notice those with jacks having a little more problems getting level in some spots. There is a small pool, playground, enclosed dog run and on site cafe and gift shop. We camped at Craters of the Moon / Arco KOA in a Motorhome.

Our second overnight stop here. Easy big rig access, but book ahead, as it fills most nights. Huge off leash dog/kid running area at the back of the park. Perfect overnight stop for us. Easy big rig access and super long 80' site In the lower section, which on the Tuesday night we stopped mid October, we had to ourselves. Lots of wide open grassy area to excercise your dog or kids. Very nice couple managing the park. We camped at Great Escape RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

The Budweiser Clydesdales Warm Springs Ranch is just an hour east of here. They have plenty of RV parking while on tour so it makes a fun midday stop. Advance tickets highly recommended as there are only 2 tours a day at 10 and 2.

Casino Queen RV Park, East Saint Louis, Illinois

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

I had a lot of apprehension before booking this park. The location, all the area road construction, safety. I worried for nothing, this place is a great base for exploring St Louis. If you are coming from the east just remember exit 2A is a LEFT EXIT. Also, ALL reservations MUST be made in advance as your confirmation email will contain the gate code. The arch view from our coach was amazing and ever changing. Early morning hidden in the clouds, fabulous sunsets and beautifully lite at night. Security watches over the park closely, and also gives shuttle rides to both the casino and metro. You are one metro stop from the arch, and an easy walk or ride to the most amazing view of both the arch and city from Malcolm Martin Memorial Park viewing platform. We arrived on a Saturday mid October and the park had maybe two dozen RV's. I had booked 617 on line but when we got here discovered it slanted too steep downhill which made our first step too high. A quick call to the casino and we changed to 607 which was super level and a better view. We camped at Casino Queen RV Park in a Motorhome.

Indianapolis KOA, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed a 3 night stay here while sight seeing in Indy. This is one of the nicest KOA's we have stayed at. Our site had beautiful trees in front with a clear satellite view to the rear. Easy access, interior roads (swing wide like the sign states when going to the office), and 100'+ pull through premium sites are all big rig friendly. Tons of gravel roads, paths and grass areas to walk and ride. Super friendly family runs this campground and guide you to your site. The only negative is highway noise from 70. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.
