Amana Colonies RV Park, Amana, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Park reminds me of a fairground. Spaces are back to back however they did put me in a site so I could pull thru in electric and water only. I just took 2 spaces and paid an extra $10 for the second site. Site is dirt between grass and somewhat level. Roads are dirt and pot holed and retained the water from the previous night rain. Showers were clean and reminded me of showers found at a fairground or Rodeo. Park is very large and holds many RV rallies so call ahead to see if there is space. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sauder Village Campground, Archbold, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. It appears that the back section with the 50 amp hook ups was added on to the existing park since it is more spacious and spread out than the front side. The back section was very clean but lacked a bathroom or shower facility. You had to use the one near the front section. I would definitely stay here in the future. We camped at Sauder Village Campground in a Motorhome.

Countryside Campground, Mogadore, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

First off this is not a big rig friendly park as the roads are narrow, turns to pull thru sites very tight (scraped bushes to make turn), and sites not level. When using levelers, wheels come off ground. Very hard to find a level spot even with levelers. Upon leaving park, again tight turns, hit same bushes when I entered. To enter you need gate code. Nice clubhouse and good access to nearby lake. Roads are one way and near exit gate is where trash can is located. It's a nice park just not big rig friendly. We camped at Countryside Campground in a Motorhome.

Terre Haute KOA, Terre Haute, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Getting to the park is a little tricky although close to I70, you have to travel down another highway, exit to another highway, go around the round a bout eventually getting to Tucker road. Follow Tucker that dead ends at the narrow entry to the park. The park itself was beautiful with many kid facilities including a pool. On site is a restaurant with surprisingly good food and ice cream (many flavors). Though close to I70, we did not hear freeway noise, only thunder. We camped at Terre Haute KOA in a Motorhome.

Basswood Resort, Platte City, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here every year to visit family. Nightly rate is approximate since we pay by the week. This is still the best park in the Kansas City area and it shows as it fills up on weekends. If you want a quiet park this is not it. You are on the flight path for KCI and you will here jets 24hrs a day as they pass overhead. On weekends many people racing around on golf carts that are for rent. Biggest complaint for this park is they make sure they tell you all the rules but yet no one enforces them i.e.: vehicles exceeding speed limit, golf carts racing around, and group partying past quiet hours. Complaining at office falls on deaf ears. That being said, still a nice park. We camped at Basswood Resort in a Motorhome.

Cabela's RV Park & Campground, Sidney, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

No frills RV park with full hook ups and some shade. Either money drop payment near office (no longer staffed) or go into Cabela's store to pay for site (remember your site number). They do not accept reservations and you want to get there before 4pm so you can chose a site. After 4pm the park fills up so you will be lucky to get a site. While there many motorhome came in and left due to park full. This is a small park, maybe 30 sites or so. Many stores, restaurants and a Walmart close by. We camped at Cabela's RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Pony Express RV Resort, North Salt Lake, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stay and park was excellent. Park is located in industrial area and behind a RV Dealer in a court and very close to I215. Beware lots of construction in area , on I215, and the off ramps to the park. In fact only complaint is exiting from the court to Redwood Road is a bit difficult due to one lane each direction on Redwood and lots of traffic. The park itself has paved roads, speed bumps, and cement pads. Entry into the park is by a coded gate, 24hrs a day. Our site had full hook ups and was pretty level with little shade trees. Park also has cabins for rent. Pool, clubhouse, outdoor large chess board are just some of the things we saw as we drove thru the park. Although close to I215, we did not hear freeway traffic in fact it was very quiet at night. When in Salt Lake Area, I will definitely stay here over the other parks in the area. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Salt Lake City KOA, Salt Lake City, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Just an overnight stay for us. Check in was slow due to others trying to check in at the same time and asking many questions. We requested a pull thru that, upon arrival, we saw people from nearby campsites walking their dog in our site and adjoining sites so their dog could take care of its business. Glad it went several sites away before taking care of business. We did not see the owner pick up the waste so beware. The site itself was somewhat level but, to exit with a tow car, it was very tight turns. We did not use any of the facilities so I can not rate them. I will say many kids running around and thru camp sites. If you have kids, this is the place for you. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Motorhome.

Silver State RV Park (formerly Winnemucca / I-80 KOA), Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here many times as we travel east and west on I80. In fact we make this our stop whether going home or going east. The owner and staff do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. Check in is quick and easy and you are escorted to your site. The park is very clean and maintained. RV supply store is better equipped than most and they have added a vape counter for those who vape. Hot dogs and hand dipped ice cream in clubhouse. New items in the park is a glamping cabin with 2 bedrooms and full bath and small wooden like yurts that have one bed, a full bath and a mini kitchen. This park continues to improve and I highly recommend staying here. We'll see you next year! We camped at Silver State RV Park (formerly Winnemucca / I-80 KOA) in a Motorhome.

Cabela's RV Park & Campground, Sidney, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

You used to be able to reserve a spot but not anymore. It's first come first serve to all sites. You can either pay at drop box by office or pay inside store as we did so I can use my Cabelas points. Arrive about 2 hours before dark to get a spot cause the park fills up by darkness. Sites are gravel and fairly level with full hookups. Bathrooms, showers, and laundry are all located in the office building and number code needed to get in. This is a great overnight park. We camped at Cabela's RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins, Spearfish, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed at this park before and was not disappointed again. This is a great park with lots to do both in the park and nearby. We used this park to visit all the monuments and towns in the area. This park has it all and would garner a 10 if the grass was not dead which made it look like a pasture. Even with the look of the grass, we will definitely stay here again as this in my opinion is the best RV park in the area. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Dakota Sunsets RV Park and Campground, Salem, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park is about 1 mile from I90 which makes it very quiet. We had a pull thru site to the back which was very good although the wifi signal could not be received. We did get wifi when we walked up to the office area. As for the site it is gravel and fairly level. We did not put down our leveling jacks since we were only there overnight and would be leaving early the next morning but did not notice any leaning. The site has full hookups and the pool although not heated was quite refreshing. We were having very good sleep only to be awaken by a severe thunderstorm at 2am. It was gone by 4:30 am but the damage (loss of sleep) was done. All in all this is a very nice overnight park that we will visit again when in the area. We camped at Dakota Sunsets RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Silver State RV Park (formerly Winnemucca / I-80 KOA), Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is our yearly visit as we travel back East to visit Military family members. Once again Dave (owner) and Dixie (manager) made our overnight stay fantastic. While there we were hit with a "mini tornado" (dust devil until it picked up a pick nick table and threw it 30 feet) and it destroyed our patio awning. I had to use self tapping screws to hold the awning arms to the awning frame just so I could make it home. Thanks to the staff of the Winnemucca KOA for all you do. We will always stay with you when in the area. We camped at Silver State RV Park (formerly Winnemucca / I-80 KOA) in a Motorhome.

Basswood Resort, Platte City, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is our yearly visit from California to Basswood to visit family stationed at Fort Leavenworth. I have reviewed this park the previous years that we visited and this time the visit was by far the best. This is the first time we were in the upper level (site 201) behind the pool and it was the best. The site is cement with a patio and some grass. The site was pretty level with full hookups. The wifi was spotty at best and the signal was determined if anyone was in site 100. On the pool side it was shaded in the morning but full sun in the afternoon. What made this site so good was the lack of traffic ( both vehicle and pedestrian) which made it very quiet (except overhead planes headed for KCI). The bathrooms and showers were spotless. We will definitely request this upper area if we are staying again. We camped at Basswood Resort in a Motorhome.

Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort, Plymouth, California

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I would give this park a higher rating but the sites near the clubhouse are no where near level and are in need of repair. Most coaches levelers were fully extended with some having the front wheels off the ground. We noticed a mouse problem in the clubhouse so don't leave food out. As for the rest of the park, the amenities are very good. Although some had electrical problems, they were addressed promptly. Laundry and rest rooms were very clean as was the pool area. Overall this is a good park that can be better if the owner would put some of his profits back into the park by leveling the sites. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.
